woohoo, what a day!!! Big ups to the organisers as it was an awesome day I had about 8 runs with a PB of 11.2 at 122mph which Andrea and i are absolutely stoked over. The cars previous best was a 12.0 at 117mph. Was trying to back up the 11.2 so hard i ended up frying the clutch and had to tow it home :( she will be back bigger and badder than it is now though so its all good Congrats to Paul and Stacey, that 10 was to easy for you, now you gotta go chasing that 9 second pass I am sure with some giggle gas it will happen sooner rather than later Adrian, congrats as well on your new PB shame you suffered a similar fate as us and your car didnt drive home but thats drag racing i guess.... sometimes you win, some times you lose There were so many cars and so many awesome times run by all and i am happy to see this one go off without any major hitches. I just want to know when we need to have the car fixed by so i can make the next day..... mmmm, a retune with some ET 103 should get us that 10 we are so close to :D so someone set another date..... please..... Now for the pics... i am sure Merli got quite a few so where are they :D Gotta love this pic -
I agree Charlie, though not many of them will get driven there and and home and race on treaded rubber :) you know i am a Mazda man mate, but its just funny cause it seems all the guys over on AusRotary are expecting 14 second show ponies
-
you guys have to check this out :D:D http://ausrotary.dntinternet.com/forums/vi...der=asc&start=0 I think we are going to upset quite a few people on Sunday :) :D
-
NICE!!!! I noticed your change of signature hehe
-
Hey Paul, how much more power is making now than when it saw the strip last time??? 440kw is quite impressive what turbo's is that thing of yours running again??? certainly is shaping up to be a great day.... i am going to bring some shity tyres for my first few runs as i can see a few fourth gear burnouts happening
-
forgot that one Charlie..... will be good to see another Nissan on the day actually ;) I cant wait for the female drag racing challenge, thats going to be a bit of fun for the ladies
-
According to AusRotary ROMPER is out which is a shame..... was probably the fastest car they had coming. However AVENGE is bringing out his street registered RX4 that has run mid 9's untubbed with a Mazda diff in it still which is very very quick given its registered and runs full interior etc
-
GTS4nMore, you got it mate, street meet rules apply however there is no paying spectators allowed so please everyone, let your mates know they WILL NOT be able to get in unless they are listed as pit crew for someone. Gates open from 8am, racing starts at 10am and finishes at 5pm if i am not mistaken..... Adam could you confirm please....

SKYLINES AUSTRALIA - NSW 2nd Annual Show and Shine 17th July 2005

I have only just seen this post and will let you know why CYIFLY did not win anything other than "best exterior"...... its as simple as it being locked up all day... I have said this in the wrap up thread, but it was announced that judging was about to begin and if you wanted your car judged to have it presented in a manner that it could be judged... I know that one of the judges gave it a zero for engine bay and a very low score for interior as neither the engine bay or the interior could be seen properly for it to be judged accurately..... sure it was a very clean and well presented car on the outside but assuming the engine bay and interior is of the same standard would be unfair to those who had their bonnet up and doors open...... had the car had its bonnet up and at least its windows wound down the results possibly would have been different..... -
Maybe a proposal for next year with regard to this trophy may be that there is a "Best non-Skyline Engine Bay" and a "Best Skyline Engine Bay" trophy.... or the category be re-named to "Best Skyline Engine Bay".... its all about letting the committee know what you liked and what might work better for all next year, it can only get better that way I think given this years numbers and the shows growth rate, it may be a possibilty to increase the number of categories to include Skyline and non Skyline awards..... but this is obviously up to the organisers I would say a fair bit more than that actually.... 100 cars makes them only worth $30k on average each working it out at that value. A few cars, such as GRACER and the 34GTR's, would cost at least 6 figures to build or buy
-
all loading fine for me Merli..... now where are your pics pics or ban i say!!!!! even if you feel they arent up to scratch we still wanna see them!!!
-
Merli, where are those damn pics!!!!!!

Normally about Sydney Moanie they will have to be engineered to be legal. Our engineer has passed all the ones we have fitted to cars and once engineered they are 100% legal. The only thing our engineer has said is that you may be required to do a drive by noise test to ensure the box isnt to loud  damned if i know why but no one has been asked for one as yet
-
this i would like to see A bit of friendly competition will be awesome. Andrea v's Stacey, the race is on lol it was great talking to you Paul and to anyone else i may have forgotten. It certainly was a great change to be able to mingle with so many people who were so down to earth and werent egotystical maniacs.... Next year will be bigger and getter i am sure.
-
big thanks to all involved, a truly well run event Thanks to the judges as well for giving us 2 trophies, best engine bay and best non skyline, was truly a welcome surprise. Looking forward to next year, but in the mean time see some of you on the 31st

what an awesome day. Was great to chat with some of the guys here and great to see so many smiling friendly faces it is a pleasant change Thanks to the organisers and thanks to the judges for the 2 trophies, was certainly a surprise to get the 2 we did. Hope to see some of you guys on the 31st at the test and tune, its time to go Mazda bashing :) -
I know Adam wants to remain positive, but given the weather situation could someone let us know what happens if it does decide to r__n.......
-
The link plus also has anti lag, thermo fan control, intercooler water spray control, 3 stage shift light, boost cut, maps that allow tuning to 10,000rpm not 7000rpm like most ECU's. There is more in the ECU but i cant remember them all GRACER makes 510kw at all 4 with a link and it drives perfectly so they cant be that bad We (Advan) use heaps of them.... we have about 15 of them getting about Sydney now installed in everything from MX5's and Mazda Familia GTR's to all models of GTR Skylines..... give us a call on 9647 1326 to dicuss getting your car tuned
-
given that the show starts at 10am would it not be better to meet for an 8am leave?? we would then have plenty of time to clean the exhaust stains off the back of our cars and be ready to go when the show opens.....
