Skyline vs LS1 vs Soarer dyno day 17th May
grepin replied to Martin Donnon's topic in South Australia
Any chance whoever had all the results of the dyno runs could post them here. My R33 made 191rwkw. Thanks -
Not stuck down yet. However for those who were interested here it is in the right coluor. www.silinsspecialvehicles.com.au They dont have pics of Skyline stuff on the internet site. I think they can ship interstate.

What previous experience? GT30 external gate ona R33 GTSt was it. What power did it make and when was it at full boost. Stock injectors and internals? Just a GT30 or was it like 3040 or something? Actual experience is valuble info. Thanks

Where are you having your dyno runs done. I have time off so would have came and said howdy but going fishing instead. Reason I ask is if its still at Morpowa it would be good to know. As the dyno should still be a reasonable comparison for us. -

Timmaay. Have a go. Then at least if you do any mods you have a baseline to start from. I am new to Skyline/Nissans for the last few years converting from V8 Commodores so I am intersted to see the older cars. Not embarassing at all. You could say I might be embarassed by GTR's its all relevant. -

Its a damn shame. We have to support organizers of events especiallly tuning shops as they have the backing to kick these things off. I know its an opportunity to drum up buisness, makes sense. Interstate seem to have a lot of events such as track days quite often - something I would like to see more of or should I say see at all. Morpowa are doing the right thing. RPM are doing the right thing. JMS drift days. Tilbrooks has events for SVD as a sponser. I hope this is a good day with reasonable numbers as I would assume Morpowa will think twice later and we will end up with nothing. I know people had legitimate reasons however it would be sad if people are leaving to follow others. Just thought it should be said. -

Pity you people cant make it. Its a good oportunity to have your car checked in full shootout mode. To bring us in inline with the interstate people who claim our dynos over here read high. All the best. -
You are thinking of the wrong person. Mine is a lowly 200rwkw at Tilbrooks dyno. Never been on the dyno at an autosalon.
-
Whatever that means. You having a go? Hope so. Its all healthy rivalry. Autosalon- I have a little trick up my sleave. Methane (thats right I bought the cow the other day) For sale no longer required Victa 0ne stroke mower. I have to keep a stroke for myself. P.S. I dont do drugs......anymore.

I guess I should put details in my signature. I have everything I need to back up turbo upgrade. Even a second car if all goes pair shape. Because it is not a daily driver I can afford to go a bit wild. This is where my interest in not just going bolt on hiflow keeping it all standard develops from. However I am still practicale so also am not intending to throw lots of money away because it looks cool under the bonnet. Would still need regulator. May intend to do injectors and possibly Cams later.

High Me again. In the case of a HKS 56T 2835 what A/R for RB25. 0.64 or 0.86. Would there be any noticeable difference. Anyone Physically seen these setups on a RB25? Thanks

I guess I should have stated that to get 250rwkw that the standard manifold will do. However would a nicely designed manifold make it work all the better. I guess the proof will be in the car that is keeping the stock turbo however getting a manifold. Certainly a different way of going about things. Consider if I havent got it wrong it may be possible to get more top end out of a set up manifold. Like how it can be said that a larger turbo can be brought on boost earlier by a specifically designed manifold. Sydneykid, so you havent had much experience with Garett turbos like 3040 etc. Cost wise considering Sacrifice $500 worth of turbo for a $2400 (GCG price) rebuild is more expensive than buying a Garett turbo (from $2300). Given the fact that I want to keep all my stock parts I would prefer to keep my turbo. The only reason to rebuild it is if it would be far superior than a garett turbo. Cheers. I hope I finally get it right when I do comit to something. Its even more frustrating when you have the money but no idea what to do.
-
If I was to consider either a rework of my turbo or a garett combo what in your experience gives the best performance. Mick from Subzero now works were I take my car to so he says an exhaust manifold helps alot plus you know his plenums. For interest to back this up he is doing a standard turbo with exhaust manifold. Its on a friends car so should be interesting. I would like to see 250rwkw for wank factor plus I believe this is a reasonable level to get to before needing injectors and maybe other internal mods. I have all else required. So I could look at a Garett 3040 or a 3035. I would prefer to keep my origonal turbo however could have that reworked. End of the day though these all seem to pan out to the same cost. Thanks

R33 Rear Stealth Spoiler
grepin replied to grepin's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
I seem to have started something here. www.silinsspecialvehicles.com.au is the website with all contact details. They make to order. He (Wally) has sent some interstate so he does have that capability I believe. They dont have any Skyline stuff on the website so when mine is done late next week I will make a new post with pics for all to see. -

Because you asked!!! You can see that in between the post to sell and the withdrawl I had heaps of response. Not when everyone took interest. I took a trip to a recommended painter and discovered that it is quite cheap and easy to fit. Origonally I had one of the JMS/UAS types not from them that fitted like crap. I ordered this one on word that they are a lot better quality. Made to order. Picked it up realizing it was different to what I expected. Initially thought thats no good lets see if I can get any offers, said $270 expecting around $250. Everyone nowdays expects to bargain so you have to put a markup. At full price it is dirt cheap anyway. Where was I.....anyway I sat it on the car took pics looked at it for a while and it grew on me. Consequently not for sale. I guess I have really opened up a Hornets nest and maybe should have this Thread removed. Heres more pics.... -

However they are a little different and maybe not to everyones taste. I wanted one like JMS or UAS however found the price a little high. The quality of these are great with light and drain holes. Also there has including mine only been about 8 ever sold. Here is a pic sitting on the car. Its maybe more lock the wings on the old brock VK commodores. -

Made by Silins. Mine should be on by mid next week and I could send pics. If you pass your home email. -
I think I had milked everyones opions enough. It had seemed to dry up. I am still undecided on what to go for. I am still reading with interest so its all good. I havent checked for your name however John are you getting involved in the Morpowa Dyno day or RPM drag day.

Connecting the horn for Steering wheel
grepin replied to BiteMe's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
dAVE pics might help. When I removed the origonal wheel a black wire is attached to the horn button that fits onto the base of the lead with the white Hicass plug on it. The lead with the white plug also comes away with the origonal wheel. The Boss kit provided a new lead toplug into where the old one once was. Anyway this now provides one terminal to go onto one of two connectors on the MOMO horn switch. Neither seem to do anything. -

Decided to keep it. Sorry to get anyones hopes up. Due to the massive response. -
Cant see myself fitting this so its going to go. Has rear light and drain holes to remove water. Asking $270.
-
Your booked into the Morpowa dyno day arnt you. I will have to catch up with you then. Maybe you might even consider taking me for a ride. I think thats the only way to really tell if this setup is any good. Im also in for the RPM drag day as well.

Mark is keeping his ear to the ground for me. I guess those turbs are not for me or he would have offered. Mick has sujested a Garett setup with flashy everything which I initially borked at price wise. Mark had organised the RED JMS gear for me which fell through. I also missed out on a Trust 67 kit that Mark had as I was overseas and he basically forgot about me wanting something. I guess if nothing comes up I may have to bite the bullet and open the wallet. It certainly pays to shop around though. Good secondhand gear can certainly save money.
