My 2835 ProS has a T3. I think standard 2835 have something different. HKS USA site has them all. I also have a 044 in tank. I do however have surge problems. I am informed 044's are best at pushing and not sucking. I know other people however that do not have fuel surge problems. Steve-Do you have fuel surge problems? Mine can happen as low as half a tank. Did you fit yours yourself. Even your favoured James from D1 said 044 can have this problem sujesting to go GTR pump. Another rumour is that the filter supplied with 044 is not as pourous as standard. Everyone wants to give me a surge tank. Firstly I will pull the pump myself and check. It was fitted by a reputable mechanic.

I was going to hide it away only because we dont know who is reading these threads now days. Possibly looking for people to Defect. However I had to let it out there.
-
I see my turbo pics are already on in a thread above.
-
I havent checked myself however look out if you order a RS as they are more designed for GTR's (twin) and SR? type setups. I believe they are a GT 25 flange and different outlet. For RB you may want to maybe stick with T3 style flange. Here is a pic of my turbo.

I know of someone who is doing a Garrett setup (600hp turbo) which basically will be the same as my 2835 pro setup bar maybe a plenum and Microtech V PFC. We and sure everyone of you will be keen to see the results. I will keep you posted. By the way 2835 Pro is a T3 flange for whoever asked.

I forgot I even started this thread. Anyway I now have my turbo a HKS 2835 ProS Internal gated T3 0.68 Ex A/R I think ( upside down it reads 0.89. It has 89 or 68 stamped on it. I am told the way to read it it is 0.89. However listed is only 0.68 and 0.87. Will be a while until it is fitted as I am waiting on other parts (injectors, plenum etc.).

How could you tell it was me in my drag outfit. I know, you couldnt believe a chick could drive that well.

Where do the harmful gases come from when not on boost? Something I forgot to mention before for the guys with idle problems you may be sucking air through your catch can via PCV when on Vacuum. However these are all only theories and am now interested in persuing this harmful gas problem. So is the whole reason of the PCV to remove harmful gases or does it have other roles. Oh by the way catch cans are the go. Not to be a thread hijacker.

He explained that he put some screws in the PC valve so it wouldnt open. Personally I tried it by using two blanks that are obtainable from most auto shops. This is where I realized it wont idle so set it back to origonal. However next tune I will set it up again. I got mine from Roccas. Of course it doesnt look legal. I have also heard of jamming a ballbearing in the hose large enough not to go in the plenum of course. This will maintain the legal look. Is your car in? Cant wait to check it out on return from Darwin. I have heard Evan is not the quickest so it might not be ready. However small price for quality.

I guess it should still be worth while blocking the route through the PCV valve as on Vacuum you could be sucking in crap through your plenum. A small point. However if you dont have an after market ECU (retune required) you will loose your light load tuning and induce stalling etc. I had an interesting conversation with BOOSTD who has posted info on this subject under the banner of some other conversation (I havent seen it) stating he has done this. The results were better idle and a huge increase in fuel economy. He also was picking up much more shit in his catch can. Quite possible condensation/sludge mix that would normally be sucked into your plenum on initial start up. My 2 cents

Well I grabbed Boostd data and made comparisons to mine. His had a lot more timing up to 4 deg towards the later load points. I matched his however didint touch the fuel side. I have a Z32 airflow meter which is different and good A/F ratios. Anyway drove the car and didnt feel much different. Maybe the fuel needs to be revisited along with timing ajustments. Anyway went to a dyno day and resultently made no more power however changed the power curve at peak to drop off later. Next we dialed in and extra 3deg which can be done via a single function the HC and only lasts until the motor is turned off. I made an extra 9rwkw however with indications of detonation. So a further 2 deg could be feasable. Anyway got on the road with a mate watching the HC and tried 3deg on the road. Felt strong howerver was getting 40 knock so puched in more fuel and reduced the knock. Took heaps of boost out and tried 4 deg felt just as good and had no knock. I wish I new all this playability a week before at the drags as potentil to put more fuel or timing accompanied with octane booster and tested my times could have been interesting. However the fuel side is the key and needs to be done on a dyno.

Yeah I could be in that. However next Sat I am away for a bit over a couple of weeks.

Has anyone got a front lip spoiler fitted to their R33. I would like to view some pics if someone could post here or send to grepin@tpg.com.au. Thanks heaps.

Gday Matt Greg again. Have plugged in your ingnition/timing figures. They are a lot more agressive than mine. Would I need to match the Injection side as well? I cant quite dial in the same figures must be different PFC versions I know yours is older. So the higher the figure the more fuel correct? Lucky I have a dyno day at Tilbrooks tomorrow to test it. Mark or Mick might get a good laugh at my backyard tuning.

I have an older video 8 style non digital, non firewire camera. Is there any kit getting around that allows you to be able to copy to some type of mpg/vcd style formatt. Or would the expense be better served rolled into a new camera. I probably will post this in a more general thread as well. I also have good footage from various events around Adelaide. Thanks
-
Its Greg from base. What do you reckon try loading your figures into my car. Where could I go wrong. Our cars have the same mods virtually. Mine has only had one tune for an hour on a 43degree day. So there is nothing to loose. I am planning a turbo upgrade in the near future so it will have a retune then.

However not between the 10th-23rd Aug I have another trip on. Late August would be nice .
-
Yeah dive one to Chris32 and I will look after the guys from our end to save you some work. Thats for myself, Freebaggin and Bugalugs I could pass one to Matt H at work for you as well.

Firstly I would like to thank all involved in organising the day. I had never dragged proper before and wasnt keen on attending a normal street meet. My car is the Grey R33 mpg posted in a previous thread by GFXman. My first run ever: 60' - 2.898 (yuck, wheel spin) with ET of 15.405 and MPH 88.72 My best : 60' - 2.1 flat, ET of 13.694 at 102.82 mph. For my car this maybe should have been closer to the other similar modded Skylines of Freebaggin and Bugalugs more stock freakish 95 model who both got in the 13.4's. However in comparison to their cars reaching the 105mph consistantly I couldnt get more than 102 mph. I tried shifting earlier and later and made little difference. Something to look at in the future.

RPM Performance Centre private AIR drag day - Sat' 31st May
grepin replied to whatsisname's topic in South Australia
I had a look through the posts but couldnt find any mention on the car requirements. I appreciate that a helmet long sleeves etc is required. However does the car need extinguisher bonnet tied down battery marked etc? See ya tomorrow. -
I mainly wanted to get on here so I receive updates. Without looking back through the threads I presume the rebuild is happening at RPM. I spoke with a guy recently at the Morpowa day regards his car at RPM having the exact same thing done due to ring land problems. I dont want to spark any Microtech vs PFC debates however I cant help but wonder if the knock sensing abilities of the PFC might have saved you.

Matt/Ivan I went away for the last week of my holidays and forgot I hadn't paid up yet. I am back to work tomorrow so will try to get there this week If I can get away from work early enough. I am still definetly on however realistically wont be able to get in to pay until Fri avo early knock off.
