  1. It happened once in my car, driving along, come to a set of lights, the car was about to stall, and then it did. Started it up fine and drove again. I went home and just as I got in the driveway it did it again, and then it was like the battery went dead. Upon closer inspection looked like the stereo system had a short somewhere or was using a fault amplifier fuse or something (those big ones). Put in a new one and havent had a problem since. I also noticed that the power supply to the alarm wasnt connected tightly so maybe when the alarm detected power issues it just immobilised the car?
  2. Battery issue, alarm maybe, or a short circuit somewhere. They are my guesses.
  3. Blitz LM or ARC Both of which require some cutting (much less than the other kits), I dont think you can get away with NO cutting at all
  4. Just found out R34 GTT: front is 2.7 rear is 2.8
  5. What is the stock spring rate for a R34 GTT then? I thought they were like 2.5k, didnt expect GTRs to be twice as high though
  6. Wow geez 12kg, that is phenomenal for the road, that probably explains why it is so skittish, especially with the thickest bars.
  7. PMs replied to. Thanks for the interest guys, but 400 is the absolute minimum. Now someone take it away! haaha
  8. And if it is a purely street driven car? still worth a try?
  9. Woah very interesting and complicated read. At the end of it all, I still dont know whether to fit the sway bars or not given the current setup in my GTT. My spring rates are 5kg front 4kg rear (Tein Super Streets set almost full soft), alignment done to SK's specs. Tyres are Falken FK451's which are pretty good. I have 24mm front and 20mm rear adjustable bars sitting in the garage. Requirements: better handling overall, same-ish comfort and driveability on bad roads, dont want to lose it easily in the wet.
  10. Its brown dust, that usually, if i wash my wheels once a week, comes off really easily. Problem is this time I left it on to bake too long. My Formula Ferodo pads are just way too dusty for me, maybe on par with Ultimates, but they give off a brownish dust which is the adhesive compound in the pad material moreso than metal filings. I have given up on finding performance pads with low dust, i think its like asking for good tyres that last a long time.
  11. Yeah I think I may have already slightly scratched it, its not really noticeable anyway so I am not too fussed. I waxed the chrome part of the rim so that the brake dust should come off easier next time. Alot of elbow grease went into it last nite, most of it seemed to have come off. The chrome feels very plastic-ky though, not like solid metal. seems as if there is a clearcoat on them
  12. Looks good mate, but now you need some sideskirts or rear bar that hang lower just to even it all out, then itll look crazy.
  13. So you're sauying the sway bars gave you traction?
  14. I put some Meguiars paint cleaner on it yesterday and rubbed the hell out of it with a terry towel. Seems to have cleared up most of the problem. Also scratched off the really stubborn bits with my finger nail heheh Anyone have any other good tricks?
  15. WD40 trick worked for me, and hasnt returned in 2 weeks (yet)
  16. What spring rates were you running with the Tein Flex? And what thickness are your bars? My spring rates are 5kg front 4kg rear, hence Whiteline recommended the 20mm rear bar instead of the 22mm rear bar, adjusted to full soft. Are your spring rates and bar rates higher?
  17. Also, I have autosol at home but it seems rather chalky and I am worried it will scratch the chrome part of the rim.
  18. Do the Meguiars Hot Rims or similar products work? Those spray on hose off kind of products.
  19. Ill give it a go, ill put it on a ray then wipe, should keep it off the rubber. Will it damage/mark/scar the topcoat on the chrome? or dull the finish?
  20. How about kerosene? will that work? Dont think I have any metho lying around.
  21. I think T04 means that it will work well if the street is smooth. But if you come across bad road conditions and offset bumps where the car hits a bump on only one side, then it will be harsher and you'll get less traction.
  22. Yeah I noticed that it only just recently came up because I hadnt washed my wheels in 3 weeks and my pads are pretty dusty. Cmon, tell me there is something I can do, wheels look terrible now! =(
  23. Last time I checked, spring rates were 6.4front and 4.6 rear. This is quite firm as many people on the forums will tell you. So I wouldnt expect a comfy ride, but at least its better than the 9k plus spring rates other manufacturers are offering. However I dont know how the shock quality is, Id say its decent enough for the street.
  24. So sway bars on a car with firm coilovers is not a good idea? as it will cause loss of traction from being stiffer? Maybe I shouldnt get them then.
  25. Hi all My current rims have a chrome lip, and due to brake dust there has been some slight tarnishing/patchiness/staining and build up of guk on the bits of the chrome. I can kinda scratch it off with my finger nails, and in some sections, it just looks a bit tarnished. Tried some light polish, some meguiars products, nothing can get it off. I am guessing its due to the brake dust because the rear wheels are completely fine, just the front rims. It kinda looks like water marks and is not as smooth when you run your finger over the chrome lip. Any suggestions on what I can do? Thanks all
