hopefully all sorted i was contacted by the workshop today and they have offered to buy the car off me for more or less my insurance write off price so they dont have to warrent any more repairs. thanks guys for all the info. p.s if anyone knows of a 32 33 for around 10k thats not on the for sale thread let me know

yer i think ill have to give the accc a call just incase. The misses dad owns a panel shop and he can't belive the condition the car is in and how unproffesional they have been. Its the last time i pick up a car in a rush without leaving enough time to check it out

engine defintly sucked water pulled the intake off and was full of water and went back and checked it the next day and there was heaps of water in the oil. Didn't hydro lock car coughed and splutted and died then i had to start it again as it all happened on a corner down a hill so had to start it and drive up the street after nearly getting cleaned up by a truck (just cars don't do tows of a night). yer it blows smoke not much at idle but heaps when driving. The car is insured with just cars i've spoke to them and they have said theres a life time warrenty on repairs so it should get fixed i just want a ruff idea of what should be done because im not picking it up this time until everything is done (they didnt even replace the airfilter the first time). I don't want to try and screw them for a new engine ill just be happy with the car in the same condition as before the water.

hi all, recently in all this rain we have had i stupidly ended up sinking my r33 resulting in the engine sucking water and stalling. Insurance decided not to rebuild the engine just to repair. Since picking up the car its been blowing oil out the exhaust, getting heaps of oil out of the breather (never happened before), dropping oil pressure randomly, and there is a massive tick on acceleration (sounds like a vw bug). i sent it back to get repaired again but i think they are just going to dodgey it up again. what im after is some advice on the bare minium things everyone thinks should be changed since every mechanic ive spoke to says it shouldv'e been a full rebuild in the first place, so i can't understand why it only had an oil change and flush and the a/c pump replaced. thanks

I know pulling the fuse is bad for the car but i read something about unpluging a wire and pumping the brake pedal or something like that any info on the subject would be great ive tried to use search but im either to drunk or to simple to get the answer im after thanks in advance for any help..

sorry about the delayed reply.. Fuel economy is not something ive realy paid atten to because the car was only driven on weekends the amount of fuel i used didn't realy matter... I think it all comes down to how you drive the car

Thanks mate.. Its got 99000km and a little bit of change. I got the car at 91000km or so just under a year ago i only ever drive it on weekends which is why its up for sale to help fund my house.....

Ok so ive done some digging as to why the car would start with the immboliser disconnected........ In the 90's the laws came in that most cars need a immboliser so car companys hired alarm campanys to fit the cheapest nastiest units to their cars with most only just making the standards and most not making the aus standards, all immbolisers that comply to our standards are safe.. Thus the jap immboliser in my car being cheap and nasty is why my car started when disconected.... my immboliser now is a club lock and a dirty big chain from the steering wheel to the brake pedal until i get an aus standard immboliser fitted.. Hope that put your mind at ease..

Im not to sure about the awd my bros the one to talk to about swifts. I think his an idiot for selling it but he's just started his p plates again so he can't tow it any more and has had enough of depending on friends and family to be his towcar, so he wants it gone to buy a go-kart.. If your after a cheap race car give him a call....

Thanks for all the help guys she starts i checked all the connections and the battery voltage all good then an old nrma mate of my dads told me to chase down the immboliser module and disconect it and she started first go.. My question now is if i drive the car with the module disconected will it damage any other electrical components on the car.. Thanks again for all the help it saved me a lot of money

Ok i tried to start it today first go it started, i then removed the battery cleaned the terminals and tried to start again nothing.. By dead i meen no reds, no radio, when i turn the key to start it therse only a click in the passanger footwell and the headlights only go to parkers.. My boost controler will light up but as i try to start the car it goes dead aswell, the interia light works as does the beep when i put my key in.. When it started the first time my turbo timer counted down like i had turned off the car and then reset to zero all with the car still running..

ok so i tried to start my car yesterday i unlocked it thus turning off the immobliser, as i tried to start the car the reds came on but as i turned the key to start everything went dead, the lights and my boost controler all still work but the car its self is dead and the alarm button doesn't unlock/lock the car.. I tried rermoving the battery still nothing so i left it and went out came home 5 hrs later the car unlocked and started.. Tried to use the car today same thing ive replaced the batterys in the key still nothing.. help any ideas would be great. the car is a stagea rs260 with the stock immobliser that it came over with.. Thanks in advance for any help.
