  1. Hello chad bob, I just spent about an hour reading this fascinating thread and was starting to think I was going to have to undertake a big clean up on my intake. Then I readlised you say this only applies to DD engines. Am i safe to assume that my VQ25DET will be exempt from this problem? How about my VQ37 VVEL? Thanks
  2. See Pictures Below. M35 guages for sale. Offers around $60 plus postage. PM me or call Chris 0419 870 596 Thanks
  3. Spotted a C34 Stagea on Scarbouough Beach Rd WA this evening.
  4. Car had the M35 and Nismo badging when I bought it. I'm going to take of the Nismo badge, it's a bit silly really. Hope to see you around some more.
  5. Silver M35 ARX Four on the Monash this morning. Looks like we wer both headed to the airport this morning. Followed each other right up the Tullamarine.
  6. Look on the Stagea Forum for sale section. Chad is wrecking a whole car. It is a 2004 ARX Four and should have the same HICAS set up.
  7. I had the same problem with a VW Golf once. It would stall sporadically at idle. Everyone said it was the air flow meter so at great expense, I changed it. It made no difference. Turned it was the throttle body was really dirty with gum and coke. Removed the throttle body, cleaned it and the intake with carburetor cleaner. Problem solved, never ran better.
  8. Thanks, Dropped about 2 liters out and i think its still a tad on the high side. Used the sump plug- much faster . Will check it again tomorrow.

  10. My transmission fluid was changed today. I drove the car back to the office and checked the levels. The fluid level was about an inch above the s bend on the dip stick!!! Checked it about 3 times, so I reckon they put way too much in. Going to have to take some fluid out tomorrow.
  11. Benny, Did you get this sorted, your description is much closer to what my car is doing. Wastegate or BOV? Chris
  12. Scott, just noticed that Saturdays cruise has been postponed. When and where would i pop in to? PM me if you like. Thanks Chris
  13. Scotty, your unreal. Hopefully see you Saturday and we can make a plan then. Cheers
  14. Thanks for the advice guys. It's been quiet most of today. It agrees with the warmer weather. I'll grab a can of silicone from work and go and see someone I know with a car hoist. Cheers.
  15. Crikey you guys are good!!! Yes it sounds like a fart an it can make the car shudder. Also transmission crossed my mind as it can do it through boost when it shifts gear. I couldn't get the car to do it today as it is intermittent. Is this an expensive part? Warranty item from the dealer under statutory warranty or not worth the hassle?
  16. Thanks Scott, See you Saturday
  17. Will do Andrew. I'll wait until i have it in my hand on Friday and then PM you.
  18. Scotty, we should talk, it seems your the Oracle of Stageas. Maybe I'll see you on Saturday in Carrum? Perhaps you can have a ride a listen for your self? Cheers
  19. As the Stagea is still new to me and I'm just getting used to it, I hope i can be forgiven for asking some stupid questions. A few times now I have noticed that if I give it a bit of a squirt the Turbo whistles nicely and everything is happy, then just as I lift my right foot I sometimes here a strange sound. I wondered if it was just the normal sound of the pressure being released? It doesn't happen every time which got me thinking that it wasn't normal. How does the VQ25DET normally sound with a stock turbo and stock exhaust when dumping pressure? OK so it's a bit of a stupid question without a sound clip to explain it better i know. Usually the turbo is just on from 2000 rpm all the way and whistles away nicely all day during normal driving so i think its OK. Maybe we should start a whole thread with sound recordings for your listening pleasure.
  20. So the M35 is definitely still under stat warranty When I have to drive slowly over a speed hump or twist out of a raised driveway I hear a horrible sound like the whole chassis is dry and needs some grease on a few bushes or maybe its the suspension. Mostly it seems to come from the front suspension but there could be some sound from the rear leaf spring bushing also. I wonder if someone got carried away steam cleaning underneath. Sure I read somewhere here about greasing something at the front end but I cant find the post now. If its something simple I'd rather do it myself than go through all the aggravation of complaining to the used car dealer. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem? Car was road worthy tested only a few weeks ago before I drove it away so I'm assuming the suspension isn't stuffed. Quick fix or get it checked at a Tyrepower? Cheers
  21. By the way of closing off this thread I will end by saying thanks to everyone for their input and add that i have now changed the + and - shift direction back to the way Nissan intended. Some of you may cry out that I'm wrong but to be honest the Stagea is a stock standard daily and the V36 now only comes out when the sun is shining. I wanted the Stagea to have the same shift direction as the 370GT because I'm just used to it and don't want to have to think about it. Having said all that I only ever use the shift stick in the V when I'm bored with the paddles anyway! It would seem that the auto transmission is fine now that I have put the transmission ecu wires back where they belong and removed the mysterious switch. I believe that back in Japan, someone had also put a switch into the yellow wire to lock the torque convertor manually perhaps in 3rd gear, and the remaining switch in SEL3 was the leftover remains of the thrill seekers experiment. There was after all evidence of a second switch from the hole left in the blank cover. Twice last week the 4WD warning light came on and reset by cycling the ignition. I haven't seen this fault or had to deal with transmission limp mode since removing the switch (or leaving it in the closed circuit position). Going to the car dealers preferred mechanic on Monday to pull the pan off and look for any more metal flakes. Best I can hope for is that the dealer picks up the tab to flush the box and fill with Mattic J for peace of mind. My next post will be of some pictures of the Stagea and the new head unit being fitted this Friday. Cheers Chris
  22. I will be removing my FM Band expander from the M35 this Friday. I'm fitting a Pioneer AVIC system so wont need the bandwidth expander anymore (only 6 months old) It is the correct one for V35 / M35 and will have the nissan connection you need. You are welcome to buy it off me for $25 plus postage.
  23. Sorry, Did i miss a whole thread or something? Is there a cruise in Vic this Saturday? I live up near Mt. Dandy so would like to join you guys and bring out my new M35 ARX
