  1. Well I'm not on this thread yet so I guess I classify as new ;p
  2. I reckon a black and silver theme would look pretty nice, don't ya think? The orange on my car just throws off the whole coloring plus I want to look a little bit different as well...even though I've seen only 3 other black GTR's in SA!
  3. The D-Speed ones are the same ones on the silver car pictured? I want the all clears not the smokey ones...
  4. I have a friend interested in getting some aero parts for his my97 wrx. Do you have anything? He is looking for front lip, side skirts and wing.
  5. Yeah...minor surface rust will be taken care of before going to Regency of course...only spot I could find in 15 mins... Hippy: UPImports brought in the car for me and PVPImports will do the compliancing.
  6. Only company that I know that do clear R32 GTR indicators is D-Speed. $620 - $755 AUS last time I checked. Not a big fan of the orange indicators myself. Rezz from the Japan section can source them.
  7. It's an 89 BNR32 running cost so far $21K... Extras that I need: No compliance yet probably $1.1K Registration and stampduty ~$1.2K Tyres...$1.2K Any maintainence done as well but it "sounds" fine from my mechanicaly non-inclined ear
  8. Misc pics from today.
  9. More interior pics today.
  10. Interior pics taken today.
  11. Exterior pics taken today.
  12. Original Pics from Japan.
  13. Uploading pics soon...need to resize them. What's a good size?
  14. Finally got to see my baby! Bit dirty but that was expected after sitting in Japan for 3 months and time on the docks. Found small scratches that need cut & polish, rusty bonnet hinge, a bit too low, missng front bar clip and loose grille but otherwise really nice interior and exterior! Now just waiting for mechanical inspection and bloody Regency...they sure do take their time with paperwork! Can't wait to have her on the streets of Adelaide!!!
  15. There are several articles on autospeed that show stock airboxes being more efficient due to size, shape and positioning. Shape of an airbox plays a rather large role in its flow capabilities. Also manufacturers spend plenty of $ in R&D to come up with an optimum design, then we just lop it off? There has to be a tradeoff to any modification we do and with the airbox I think that would be hotter air due to inefficient separation from engine heat and sometimes less flow in total. Is more air better? Of course yes! Is more HOT air better? answer is questionable. How does a lot of hot air compared to a 15% less volume of air but 10 degrees cooler air compare in regards to performance? Just something I like to remind myself when doing intake mods.
  16. I don't intend to be a drag car only, the article is a good read and provides some good tips however, I want a whole streetable package, not just power.
  17. Highway cruising: when on flat ground and at speed the only load the engine is given is the force required to overcome frictional losses in the car and to overcome aerodynamic drag...so its similar to idling the car albeit with a slightly larger load on the engine. If you are worried about cruising on the highway while warming up the engine. I suggest every minute or so, vary your engine revs...either dropping a gear or just raising revs. The load on the highway shouldn't be too much of a worry compared to climbing a hill in a high gear. Just don't sit at the same revs for too long.
  18. Impressive times there whatsisname! A car I can totally respect and yearn for is one that can drive to the track(Drag or Circuit) with the full comfort options(ICE and comfy interior) and lay down some nice times...ohhh how I dream
  19. Not necesarily the best choice all the time. Do a search for "copper spark plugs" and see if they suit you better.
  20. Highway cruising shouldn't be too much of a problem for wear only if you dont load the engine ie: keep revs down(but not in too tall a gear!)
  21. DSPEED(~$480AUS), but like I said, pretty steep! Shop in Australia selling them for $755AUS(or 15% off special $640AUS)!
  22. OT: Regarding peanut butter vs Vegemite...you all should try toast with one slice Vegemite and the other slice peanut butter. You will be suprised at the taste...and to all of you who will say it's gross....CHICKENS!!!
  23. I Propose a SAU Hall of Fame for the likes of Sydney Kid and others. Newbies will be able to tell those who have technical knowledge from the likes of me and others. (If they don't notice that his replies are well thought out, detailed and answers your question!) Thanks for all the help!

  25. About replacing the oil/fuel pumps. What are the signs that one is about to fail/have failed. How dangerous is it to the engine when it does happen. Reason I ask is it might be a good idea to replace them on a 15 year old car just for preventative maintainence.
