  1. Probably was. I realised afterwards I don't think I pulled back on the stalk properly so the highbeams wouldn't have flashed. I would have stayed behind you but the missus thought she saw a free space and well... you know what Crown was like Saturday night (turs out it wasn't a freebie anyway ). Ill jump on hte horn next time
  2. Spotted a Black M35 at Crown on Saturday night. Was doing the same thing we were (driving around looking for a car spot). Flashed the lights but didn't get a response. Saw posibly the same one Yesterday arvo on Errol St in North Melbourne.
  3. I keep checking the used car lot after every single race. Terrified to buy a new car in case the funds aren't available when they show up. Only on level 8 howver so I'm not far into it. Own both in GT4, but its just not the same. So far I've just been using the Pergeut 205 Turbo the game gave me when I logged on on my birthday (you considerate game you).
  4. Today, after 2 months of waiting (the last week and a half waiting for DOT was unbearable) I finally got to pick my new baby up. Wow!! I'm in love. The leather is mint, sound system sounds fantastic (surprised as I'm fairly certain its all stock) and drives beautifully (my fears coil-overs would be spine shattering were unfounded it seems). (she's the white S2) My only complaint is the exhaust. It's mid-muffler back and drones something awful. Looks like I'm on the market for a decent replacement.
  5. Cheers Chris; sounds like that might be the way to go. My insurance doesn't mind either way but I'd rather not risk her being easily pinched.
  6. G'day all. My new baby landed today and I've had a chance to give her a quick once over. She's come equipped with an immobilizer and a pic of the fob is attached. Now the questions are as follows: 1 - Is this a half decent Immobilizer (seems to be proximity to a little device mounted near the pillar, rather than a button, which i prefer)? 2 - Does anybody know of anyone in Aus that can make up and code duplicate unit as I would like to get a second key set for the missus? Any help is appreciated. Pic of the Fob below.
  7. Chalk another one up. I'm keen on one for my new S2.
  8. If either of you guys still have these available I'm also keen on one of these badges. Obviously OP has first dibs.
  9. They're all good points. Like you say its a personal preference. Also I sit on the other side of the form factor fence (clean freak). When the time comes to upgrade again; I'll see whats available at the time, I don't strictly adhere to "the code of the mac" like a good little fanboy. As far as something dying, you're right, it would be easier to replace the faulty component and move on quickly, but on the other hand, Apple Support is excellent and I know if anything at all dies its simply a case of loading it into the box and saying "here, fix this and make sure I keep my data". This has saved my arse in the past (faulty wireless network card on the imac (replaced with a brand new imac in 3 days due to parts not being in stock) and faulty DVD drive on my old Laptop (despite being 3 months outside of the warranty period).
  10. Simplicity basically. Which is the reason most people buy macs (whether or not the're prepared to admit it). Its a reasonalbly powerfull thing with a big-ass display running MacOS. For work its perfect and for play it's more than adequate. At the time i bought it building a similar spec PC was not that much cheaper (once you factor in an IPS Display) and this way I get a 3 year warranty on all the compnents - I've had very good interactions with AppleCare re: Warranty's in the past. But what it really comes down to is my own preference for MacOS. And when its time to upgade it will be wall-mounted and become the new TV in the bedroom (screen can act as a display, or more likely just use a USB TV tuner).
  11. G'Day All I'm Adam and have signed up with SAU due to the extensive info available on Stagea's. I currently drive a VL Berlina (non-turbo, converted Manual (r33box)). It's my first car, I've had it nearly 7 years and absolutely love it to bits. Unfortunately life has gotten in the way and I need something practical that the missus can drive as well, so we've imported a '98 S2 Stagea which is due to land in the country any day now. As sad as I am to see the VL go, I'm itching to get into the new Rage'a, she's a Dayz RS4 with electric/heated leather interior and twin-roofs. Pic of the Old: And the New:
  12. I'm in the same boat as Telcontar. Used to build my own PC's (except for an old Apple Powerbook for work) Got tired of the messing about and jumped ship to a Mac desktop when the new 27" iMac's were released: Specs: 27" Primary Display + and old 22" display mt old Lady's work was throwing out. i7 2.8Hhz (Desktop Version) 4GB Ram ATI Radeon 4850 (sadly its the Laptop Variant) 1TB HDD Bootcamp - Dual Booting OSX 10.6.4 (Snow Leopard) and Windows 7 (x64) Also use VirtualBox to run Windows XP for old software like FAST. Logitec G25 3 Pedal+H-Pattern Steering wheel Saitek x45 HOTAS Joystick
  13. On Holidays in QLD, Dad stopped the car to have a look at a very nice silver S1 RS4 (34WGN). If the owner is on SAU... please don't fret, we weren't scoping it out to pinch it later. Just stopped for a quick perv
  14. I'd be keen on the Twin-Unicorn badge from the Grill if it's still on there. Unfortunately noob status prevents me from PM 'ing. Feel free to chuck me an email at: [email protected] if its going.
  15. At Philliphunt: "spot!" Arriving (optimistically) end of October. Can't wait!!
  16. G'day Blutonium, I got your PM, unfortunatley being a newb I can't reply just yet, (sorry to everyone else for resurrecting and old thread). Re:broker. I did it through Southern Special Vehicles in Oakley, Victoria. Decided to go with them after cruising through these forums, they seemed to have a fairly good reputation (with a rep for possibly being a little more expensive than some of the others). Additionally the guys there are really good to deal with and always in regular contact. They floated a couple of cars past me before we settled on one and they were happy to keep going until I found one I that was just right. The standard of cars they have floated me has been consistently high, and they provided me with extensive photo's in, out and under the car. I visited a different Melbourne importer who I wont name, after speaking to a guy very briefly who had me wait while he telephoned sombody to demand money from them (presumably another satisfied customer) I couldn't wait to get out of there. Even though I've had a fairly good experience (so far) with importing, I would still advise buying locally if you can. I'm not paying any less by importing one; my only reason for doing it is I've been very particular with what I'm after and couldn't find it locally.
  17. Today... I bought it!! Hi All, Been reading these forums for a while now whilst I've been looking for a Stag. Now I finally have something to post. Managed to be the winning bidder on this baby overnight last night. '98 S2 Dayz, Twin Roofs, Tripto-Auto, Heated Leather Seats! If all goes well I'll hopefully have the car by end of October. At that point I'll no doubt be scouring these forums for as much info as I can muster. I can't wait to rip off that ugly-as steering wheel cover and give the mats a clean.
  18. G'day all The missus and i are looking for a S2 Stagea. Must be auto and would prefer something other than white or silver but will consider other options. We may look at S1's as well. Also chasing one with twin sunroof option and the fewer engine mods the better. Please contact me via PM if you are thinking about selling. Thanks -Aj
