Ok, i just thought this was real strange, on my home i passed 3 skylines all purple (deep dark) all r33's as well. The first was on Oxford St then i saw the other two on Wynumn Rd in Tingalpa, it really freaked me out as they all looked identical, anyone from here?

OK I have an FJ20de at the moment, loud but slow, i have heard that the FJ24 conversion kit can be purchased in Australia. Is this true and does anyone have any info?? NOTE: I could swear i saw an ad in either ZOOM or HPI mags if it helps. Obviously cost is an issue here so even if you have no info what would you pay for such a conversion?? THANKS

Not to get off track but do you guys know of anywhere that i can source the FJ24 kit (i understand that its for the N/A version is this correct?) as i could swear i saw it in either the HPI or ZOOM mags but when i went back i couldnt find the ad! Any info would be tops Thanks

I'm in the same boat as you, whereas my fj20 only has 80 000k's the N/A power just doesn't do it for my heavy dr30. I just don't know what to drop in, im looking in the fj20et region but they are quite expensive now and a reconditioning would be a must. But then again i just brought the latest issue of ZOOM magazine and they have a fj20 power build story which has renewed my vigour for the mighty fj20. It all really comes done to costs and how much work your willing to do yourself, where a fj20 will slip in the rb20 is a tight fit and needs a lot of wiring adjustments and such which if your planning on paying someone to do it, it ends up being quite expensive whereas the fj20 may appear more expensive, its not just easier to fit, tune for the car it ends up being cheaper. Sorry for the long post.

Well if your doing one up for your 'line, you might as well do up a r30 site, as there are very limited english sites dedicated to the mighty r30's, particularly ones with useful info.. Quick note though didnt we lose a lot on this forum due to some computer glitch. As if i remember it was quite useful. Good luck

Kudos, when i went the best part was the carpark, 911turbo, half a dozen 'lines and some sick vip euros. The best part of the show is the ?Porche? stand very cool.

Here i'll make it simple buy an r30 or r31, there you go a skyline, big power and a skyline that can eat any Aussie V6 for less than 10G's, ohh and did i metion its a skyline.

If thats all i have to do than im off to the wreckers to look for an fj20det, should of done it earlier.

I've just finished reading this whole thread and didn't see the obvious answer in by-passing the heater altogether. I had the exact same problem in my skyline and when i rang up a radiator specialist i was told i could replace the heater (heater core) for a price or just by-pass it for free. And as im from QLD, i have no need for a heater so i decided to by-pass the heater (which took 5min tops (and i have no idea about engines)) and have had no problem since. I know its a little late for predator but for others who read this and have no need for a heater, just by-pass it, simple as and easy as.

IT is deffinately something to think about, as im sure it would be a heck of a lot easier than the RB and cheaper as far as getting it in but how about power upgrades. You say you are getting 344rw/hp, im not looking that high but i was wondering how your making those figures as i have heard the fj can take a bit to. Thanks :burnout:

have all of you who have done the rb conversion done most of the work yourself? as i am looking in that direction soon but i am mechanically illiterate, (i know how to give tlc and external mods but as far as internally all i know is how to change the oil etc.) What im really trying to say is how much does it cost?? i know a lot of custom mods need doing etc. and prices vary, but a rough price guide would be good when i go to a shop to get a quote. ALSO did you all use half cuts or just rip outs? Sorry for the long post but all info would be tops. I have an FJ20DE at the moment if that helps with mounts and gearbox placement.

This was recommended by a inquest into P plate deaths, has not been acted apon but has been taken into advisment. It was recommended that P Platers wear the plates for the 1st year, and are not allowed to drive between like 11 and 5 at nite without a good reason eg. work.

Most jap wreakers have a few fj20et, i know some up here do. i have a fj20de (1990) and am planning to upgrade to either a rb20det or just a fj20det (1990ish) I'm hopping the mounts will be the same.

HI ya just a couple of quick questions for all you fellars, i have found my coolant leaking into the drivers side foot cooller??? wtf, not oil as stated before, (i decided to actually look) where could the coolant leak into the aircon hose? Should i get a mechanic? also what sound system you guys running and security if any, as im having a look at a nice pioneer system and have been getting the run around?

the xr6t has upgrade options up to 360rwkw but it will cost you and arm and a leg. also good luck finding one, the xr6t has a very long waiting list
