chopobo, I believe the ship is actually containing 4000 cars worth AU$160M. I saw it on the news this morning in my waking up mode so don't quote me on this one. The ship has also caught fire and they can't put it out coz they can't get to the ship.

Hey Matty, Don't hold your breath mate. Your clutch is gonna give way soon I reckon with your power levels. The twin is fine if it doesn't heat up too far. After the big all oil spill and the rain, the clutch held up again fine for the 11.6 run.

Now that I've found the time sheets, I can confirm my top 3 runs were: 11.588 @ 121.29 MPH and 1.867 60' 11.639 @ 123.03 MPH and 1.977 60' 11.858 @ 125.22 MPH and 1.917 60'

1st Victorian SAU Event - Calder Park Drags
Leewah replied to ex-static's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Hey Brendan, Did I win anything for the day? If so, when do I get my prize? Not to sound pushy or anything, just curious. Cheers. -
This is true. Street meets don't use the Xmas tree. The timer for your run only starts after you have broken the laser. When you line up at the tree, you have the 2 sets of white lights which tell you that you are at stage. The "shallower" you go into stage, the more room there is to move when launching. The laser sits 6" ahead of back of the second strip (as there are 2 seperate sets of white lights). When the lights go green, you can sit there as long as you like as long as you don't move more than 6" forward, setting the laser off. Reaction times are irrelevant to your final time. My reaction times were all round the 3 second mark. FYI, the green light will appear .4 of a sec after the yellow lights come on.

I'd love to take the credit for this dude, but I don't think you got the wheel nut? All of mine are still on the car and I didn't think I had a spare one.

A good day had by all considering the weather and the number of oil spillages. I'm happy with the MPH we ran but the 60' times were bad, hence the final slowish times. The best time we pulled was a 11.58 @ 121 MPH with a 1.86 60'. There were also times of 11.63, 11.81 and 11.88, 12.02, and a 15 sec pass. We suffered big traction problems off the line with all four wheels losing traction for some time. This was due to two main reasons. One was using street tyres and the second was that the tyres were at street pressure. I think if the pressure was reduced a bit, there may have been some better times. Loss of traction was harsh and we had to make it up in MPH which is never an easy task. Considering I ran a reasonalbly low boost for the turbo, the car felt that it was good lower times at the same boost. The only problem I had wasthat the clutch heated up after a few runs and I had some slippage, hence the 15 sec pass I had. I'm going to get the ignition problem sorted first, then I'll look at getting a stronger clutch, semi comp tyres and more boost. At least now I have a rough idea of how fast my car actually is. Congrats to all who rocked up and ran. Some nice times out there. Thanks must go to all who organised the event. Unfortunately, the weather was out of our control and there were too many selfish fools out there dropping oil.

R33 GTR Rims and tyres
Leewah replied to Leewah's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
I'll get some photos of the rims to post up. As ice180 said, the 245 is a Jap spec tyre and they would be more expensive to put on the rims that standard Aussie 255 tyres. The 235s are pretty much new but you can have a look when I post the pics. -
I have a set of R33 GTR stock rims and tyres to sell. They are in good/excellent condition. The tyres are Continental ContisportContacts measuring 235/45/17 and have done no more than 300kms. I'm asking $2500 for the lot. Not seperating. This is a private sale. Ignore the signature.

I've got bout 15 people who wanna come to pitcrew/spectate. How are we going to organise the discount for spectators/pitcrew and racers? Also, what time do we have to be there?

Although the Liberals have said that they will bring back the 10%, they are also making speeding penalties harsher. ATM, if you get done by less than 15km/h, you score 1 demerit point. You can do this as many times in a year until you lose your licence. Under the Liberal proposal, you will score 1 point for your first offence and then it will increase to 3 points for the second offence in a year and then 6 points, etc. I'm still voting for the 10% though

I agree with Finer9 on some of his points. True the MX5s tamed the 2 GTRs that were at that DECA day. I know coz I was there and I was driving but also as you said, the DECA was setup better to suit MX5s and other smaller more nimble cars. As for dragging "a seagull at the drop of a hat", I must object to that. Yes, I drive a modded Skyline, but at the price of fuel these days, you have to choose your competition carefully otherwise you'll be fuelling up everyday. I'll admit it, I've done street dragging and no I have no regrets of it but it is not something I go out and do on a regular basis unlike some people. There is so little skill involved in drag racing compared to track, especially in a GTR. The 4WD does most of the work off the line and all the driver has to do is keep the wheel straight and change gears as fast as they can. A track is where a driver will prove themselves. I know that I'm not the best driver in the World but as long as I know the limits of my car and more importantly myself, I think I'm safe. I learnt a lot during the DECA day and I highly recommend that people get out and do it just to learn how dangerous a Skyline and driving in general can be.

I do apologise, my car isn't exactly stock anymore

I've done 260km/h @5500 rpm in 5th in my R33 GTR with stock gearbox. I slowed coz I didn't know the road too well so pushing it further wasn't a good idea. I reckon it's got the go for 300km/h but needs a fair bit of straight road and a long braking area.

Better idea.... Go the 3ltrs with a T88-34D  All I need now is the 3ltrs

Nah. I've got a 97 non Vspec. I used to have an airbag but I went and changed the wheel to a Momo Race wheel so there's no airbag anymore.

I don't generally drag people on the street unless I know who they are (like going out with mates and having some fun). I get looks all the time from wannabe heroes and the like who wanna run me but due to the price of petrol these days, only selected few get to run I enjoy tearing holes in the V8s the most coz they think they have everything on Skylines and no respect for us. Supras have some respect and make a good run when in gear but nothing off the line. Mind you, this is all before my car was completed. The last decent run my car has was against a Diablo. I wasn't even in the car but I hear that my car ripped it nice and good.

Richie you slack fark, go find your own thread to plug If I'm driving, it's a good chance that it's Gerald driving it. We swap cars occasionally so he can do some work on it at the factory while I'm here stuck in the office. Life's a bitch when you can't take time off to work on your car

Yeah I know. Procrastination is a wonderful thing Problems after problems come up and things must have a priority and the smaller things can wait. Got some nice :burnout: action happening though. Pity bout the lights and electrics farking up.

I finally got round to installing both units last night and they work fine. I can dial in the amount of torque I want for the speeds I want etc, etc but then the problems start. When I have the settings to 100% to the rear and do a standstill burnout, the 4WD light and ABS lights come on. They won't go away until the car is switched off and on again. The 4WD is still working though because I couldn't do a burnout as easily as I did when the settings were 100% to the rear. The lights would only go away when the light came on. Also, this morning when I started the car with the ETC set to off, the 4WD and ABS light came on straight away. Do you know of any reasons as to why this is happening? All the wiring seems to be right as the ETC and drag adaptor work fine. Any help would be appreciated.

Unfortuantely we used to have a website but due to our host's servers crashing, our site was lost. A new one is under development and should be up soon (I hope). The actual URL is www.iceperformance.com.au

Grim, My name is Dave. If you've been to Ice or a dyno day, you may have seen the purple R33 GTR with the while Volk Challenge rims. That's my car. FYI It's also my avatar I guess I'm what people would know as a silent partner. I am a stakeholder/shareholder in Ice Performance and have contributed to the funding of Ice Performance. I generally do the rounds on the forums trying to drum up business for Ice as the others are busy working on the cars. If I can help in anyway, drop me a PM and I'll see what I can do for ya. Cheers, Dave.
