  2. Hi All, Updating the for sale post with further pictures taken from the weekend. I do have quite a few more but rather than spam the forum I've selected a few that gives good coverage of the car. Feel free to follow up with me directly and I'm happy to share more photos and details with you. Thanks, Giles
  3. Hi Wrench, You seem like a smart guy, so I wont try and sell to you too hard. Looking to sell my lovely car, figured you might be interested. I do think you'll find that it meets all of your requirements, and then some that you haven't listed. http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?Cr=0&R=7632719&keywords&trecs=347&__Ns=pCar_Odometer_Single%7C1%7C%7CpCar_RankSort_Int32%7C1%7C%7CpCar_PriceSort_Decimal%7C0&__sid=12E3466D2B89&__Nne=15&__Qpb=true&seot=1&__N=1216+1247+1252+1282+4294961272+4294962746&silo=1011 Thanks Giles

  6. Hi All, I'm regretably selling my R34 GTR V-Spec II due to family requirements.. My missus and I are looking to buy a house and start a family soon, and son of rajab knows a 2 door sports car doesn't fit that model very well (at least for the first few years). Warning to buyer - you may see a grown man cry when you purchase this beautiful machine from me. Asking price is $55,000. I am the first owner in Australia, having bought it from a Sydney importer (25,000km's originally on the odo). The car was completely standard (with the exception of a 3 inch exhaust tip) at purchase and has since had light to medium modifications performed over the 2 year of ownership. It has been looked after very well, regularly serviced by Australia's top mechanics with odo @ 98,000 freeway km's. The majority of the mileage has been due to frequent trips between Sydney and Canberra. I've spent $30,000 on modifications which have been listed below: 2 x Garrett turbo's PowerFC for R34 HKS EVC Boost Controller 750cc injectors OS Geaken Cam Gears High flow air filter and cat Full 3 inch exhaust High performance brake pads Koni Externally adjustable front and rear suspension Power output is over 330awkw's (see attached dyno). Pictures have been attached of the car at the time of purchase. I will be updating with more recent photos however not much has changed from back then other than the license plate. I am located in Sydney on the Northern Beaches, and the car is currently registered in the ACT, having only just relocated to Sydney. It has a few months left of rego. Feel free to contact me first via PM. If you'd like to call and discuss the car feel free to call me on my mobile: 0408 334 423, or E-mail me at [email protected] Serious buyers only please - these tyres aren't a fan of being kicked. Giles
  7. Hey buddy... I'd like to put my name up for any reserves / standby list you end up putting together. I'd like to bring my '34 GTR for a drive. Sounds like an excellent event - well done on organising it. Cheers.
  8. Spotted a white R35 GTR going from Benjamin Way turning into Belconnen Way and following that up to the Braddon turn off... thanks for the race - was great fun.
  9. Hi guys, I'm taking off to Sydney at the end of the month and before the move I'm trying to get rid of some extra bits and pieces. I have a post up in the For Sale section and link below; http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...amp;pid=5329643 Obviously I'd prefer to deal with Canberran's and not worry about shipping. If you're interested PM me and we can come to an arrangement with whatever you want. Whatever I don't get rid of will be binned on moving day, so please come to me with an offer. Oh, and if you're interested in a dining table and chairs, would be happy to discuss other items too. Cheers, G.

  15. Hey! I take offence! I usually reply to posts of when I am spotted - though I am not on here that frequently as I'm too embarassed to look at the forums whilst I'm having troubles with my car. I think someone posted about it later on in this thread about my R34 blowing flames around DFO... gotta get her fixed!
  16. Okay, last night I did my own troubleshooting per some suggestions here. Popped off the intake, took out the AFM's and gave them a spray with AFM cleaning spray. Hooked up the Power FC hand controller and took it for a drive... after about 20 minnutes the problem reoccurred again. Checked the hand controller and couldn't see any engine error codes on the summary page. Not sure how to dig any deeper in the controller without breaking things. So... back to square one. Also i was finding a fair amount of oil inside the intake... blow back by the looks of things, however there did seem to be a bit of it.. it was pooling up a little in the air filter box in one of the corners, and leaking down into the engine bay. looked like there was a bit more than there should have been although I'm not sure what's normal having never done that before. Any thoughts?
  17. No I haven't.. I have a PowerFC - assuming plugging in the hand controller and replicating the issue will tell me that?
  18. Hi, Just from a context perspective, I drive an 2001 R34 GTR V-Spec II. Need some advice. Just before Christmas my car started having performance troubles. I do quite long drives, and after driving from Canberra to Sydney my car started entering into limp mode - it idles fine, but as soon as I accelarate the engine starts to cough and splut and has no power. At this point the engine light (sometimes) comes on. Oil levels are fine. I pull over, turn the car off, then turn the car back on and it works fine again for 30 minutes or so. So one of the ideas from a mechanic I go to was that it is likely to be with the Coil Packs / Spark Plugs. I have replaced those and the issue is still happening. I've spoken to a few other people who have suggested maybe an issue with my O2 sensor or Airflow Metre. Wanted to get some thoughts on this issue, and whether anyone has come across this before? I guess what I am after is a technique to troubleshoot to determine what is causing the issue - the coil packs cost me $650 so I'd prefer not to spend more money than I have to in order to get it fixed. So any advice would be of assistance. Thanks, G.
  19. Thanks for everyones advice and offers of assistance so far. Next question - I'm on a hunt for coil packs. anyone have any advice on where to source from? Google isn't pulling any decent results other than posts from Skylines Australia and Wreckers that don't have them, so any advice on this would be great. Planning on grabbing the coil packs tomorrow morning and attempting to install myself... just need to find the bloody things. Cheers, G.
  20. No, I'm trying to do a mechanic for both parts and labour.. it's for an r34 gtr v-spec 2.. any idea where to source parts at short notice? appreciate the advice / offer..
  21. Ahh good for him, bad for me! I'm based on the Northern Beaches with the intent to head back to Canberra on Sunday... so I'm struggling to find someone open over the next few days to do some work on it so that I can drive it home. the alternative is to try and limp it home however that wont be fun - I'll be pulling over every few minutes. God help me getting up a hill on the Hume Hwy.. So if anyone knows of a reliable mechanic that's open that can do a relatively simple job of a coil pack please do let me know, otherwise I'm up for a $1,000 tow back to Canberra..
  22. Hi, I used to live in Sydney before moving to Canberra (no, not a joke).. and I used to take my old Skyline to a place in Annandale (from memory) on Albion Street... The guy specialised in Skylines, and was quite cheap and did good work. He also had a very old Skyline from the 70's that he was restoring - quite a nicce piece of machinery. Well I am back in Sydney for a few weeks and my car needs to have its coil pack replaced and for the life of me I can't remember this workshops name. Yellowpages isn't giving me names that I am familiar with, and I am certain this mechanic was recommended from this forum. Any help lads? Thanks G.
  23. hey mate - good to meet you the other day... did you end up finding out who the blue "GTSR" driver is?
  24. ... it's not standard at all
  25. So looks to me like one of my turbo's blew up today... at least it looks so far to be on the exhaust side, as the engine is running fairly smoothly. Here's hoping at least! Anyway, I'm looking of obtaining 2 x HKS GT2530's for a R34 GTR and some other parts as a small upgrade I was wondering whether anyone has any contacts of importers who typically get good prices and pass on the savings to their customers? Also, if you have any experience with Japanese websites (greenline for example), perhaps you could link me up with some places to start looking at sourcing parts from? I've checked the "For Sale" section in SAU and found someone selling 1 of the above turbo's, and I swear it was sold in under a minute. At this stage I'm just shopping around to see what sort of cost I will be up for, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. G.
