  1. hi guys.. sorry, i can't make it due to work commitments. hooray for oncall. cheers
  2. I'm in! (as long as I don't have to work of course..)
  3. Spotted a Black / Dark Green (was hard to tell being dark) R34 GTR NUR VSPEC in Kingston last night at approximately 9pm. Had a good chat with the owner about his car, and was very impressed... good to meet you buddy! G.
  4. No, I have no intent to place an after-market front lip. that would be just over-kill on something that already looks nice. I would like to purchase one none the less, as having a spare one floating around would be handy. Is there a spare part (number) that you're aware of, or anyone is aware of?
  5. G'day all, I've owned my R34 GTR VSPECII for around 4 months. In this time it's taken me a while to adjust to the front bar, and lack of space available to park ANYWHERE nose in, on the basis that the extra black plastic front lip on the bottom of the bar prevents the car from hanging over a gutter or even the parking cement barriers. So I've taken the time to adjust and learn that I cannot park it far in to a car spot. With saying that though, the process of learning this has resulted in the plastic lip gaining a couple of chips and cracks. Whilst you need to really be paying attention to notice it, I defintiely do notice.. Does anyone know where you can purchase these black lips on the front bar? I'm guessing I'm not the first to damage, and I defintiely don't want to buy an entire front bar just for the tiny black plastic lip. Any advice would be great..
  6. have any tips on where the boost sensor is? the car still boosts fine, it's just the gauge. if you can give me a hand with letting me know where the things are, i'll get it checked out..
  7. unfortunately the MFD is the only boost gauge that i have in the car... so no definitive answer there
  8. ... nope, they have 60 litre tanks. consider yourself corrected.
  9. Hey mate - spot on, worked a treat. Thanks for the great advice! Any guidance on the boost gauge issue constantly showing neutral pressure? Thanks
  10. Hi All, I've done a bit of google farming without allot of success, so thought I would throw it to the general forum populous. I have a R34 GTR V-Spec II. As you're aware, the V-Spec offers a couple of extra features including 2 x extra sensors and the MFD upgraded to utilise these sensors. Namely, they are the Exhaust temp gauge and Intercooler gauge. My situation is that really I have two problems. The first problem (and if anyone can help with this, great! but it's not the main topic for discussion) is that my boost gauge is registering at 0 at all times, and does not pick up any boost. I had a friend advise me that the MFD needs recalibration, so off I went down the path of recalibrating based on Nissan instructions. The recalibration worked just fine, but it didn't fix anything - and to make matters worse, when I powered the car on after the recalibration I had lost my 2 sensors. So it would appear that the MFD has reset to a non-V-Spec configuration, and has removed my Exhaust and Intercooler temperature gauges. Can anyone advise on how to get them back? As a secondary, does anyone have advice on the boost gauge problem? I've had the car for nearly 4 months now without fault, so this is the first (and hopefully last???) for a long while I hope. Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers
  11. hey matey.. what time was this? around 8am this morning?

  14. Spotted - Silver R33 Series 2 @ around 10:45 in Bruce at College street... it was a cute Red P plater girl driving - I waved and she smiled / waved back... it's great seeing attractive girls with good taste in cars
  15. nah that wasn't me - i came in at about lunch time. i have a bayside blue R34 gtr vspec II.. looking at getting some light mods done to it, but i saw your car and remembered the photo's on the forums so had to check it out a bit closer - the photo's certainly gave the impression of a fairly well established interior, and it certainly was clean inside...
  16. hey again! similar to my last post, i was at Trojan today and saw the old beast sitting there... i had a look at the tyres and my goodness - well done on some good tyres... they looked great and would hold a fair amount of traction down.. you'll have to take me for a spin in it some time - would love to see how much power she puts out in a drive now that she has some good traction... grats
  17. I was in Trojan today getting my '34 looked at, and low-behold I saw your car parked there. In person mate, I have to hand it to you that it looks nice. I personally wouldn't have thought a pink car would look that great, but it certainly has a presence to it. Congratulations - the interior does look very clean. though the black 16 inch wheels you have need to get changed ASAP. Well done, and welcome to the family!
  18. Glad to see you got it all sorted out - and both of our minds are at rest. Enjoy your new car man! and like I said when I sold it to you - get some new tyres!!!!! i don't want to see a picture of the car in a newspaper twisted around a tree... be safe, take it to a skidpan and learn the feel and responsiveness and you'll have some fun cheers matey..
  19. Well, my advice to everyone is.... don't sell your car privately! wow - i have just experienced the worst couple of weeks in an attempt to sell my old R33. Let me explain, as I need to vent. So ... the car was advertised on carsales and some forums. After a week of advertising we received a couple of nibbles from various ACT residents, and of course I had 2 blokes seriously interested within the space of 2 days. The first bloke (bloke #1) that checked the car out seemed like a decent guy, albeit fairly young - every second word was the f-bomb and c-bomb. Was an awesome comprehension of the english lanugage. Anyway, he took the car for a test drive and basically indicated he was very keen. We informed him that we had another buyer (bloke #2) taking it to a mechanic to get checked in a couple of days, so bloke #1 called the day after and made an offer. Of course we accepted, and he came to put down a $500 deposit. So here I am thinking "you beaut! car is sold" - so i called the bloke #2 and cancelled the mechanic inspection and informed him that the car was sold... the next day though, the dude calls up and says "sorry, my dad wont let me get a car that powerful - no sale". that of course initiated a couple of conversations as to what to do with his deposit. we agreed to refund the deposit once the car sells, which i think is pretty reasonable considering most people would just hold the deposit as non-refundable. anyway, that wasn't good enough and subsequent issues arose. we came to a mutually beneficial agreement after about an hour of negotiating... meh meanwhile, we called bloke #2 up and informed him that the sale had fallen through... he didn't seem that interested, so we pretty much accepted a loss of sale and called it a night. next day, bloke #2 calls us and wants to see the car that morning. so off my mate goes, shows him the car and bloke #2 seems happy. we talk some more and he asks whether we can take it to get inspected, i say of course! so we book it in for the following business day. bloke #2 calls us back and makes an offer, forgoing the mechanical inspection on the basis that we seem like trustworthy guys. we accept - this time with fingers crossed. he comes over that afternoon with Dad and cash in hand... and we do a deal and off he goes with cars, papers and Dad in all. So here we are thinking... thank goodness that is all over. Anyway, my mate doesn't have his phone on him until a day later... checks it and he has 10 missed calls from bloke #2 complaining that there is oil in the coolant system and that the car is messed up and that the head gasket has blown... he let's me know, and we agree to call him the next day. the next day comes, and before we get the chance to call - bloke #2's Dad has looked up my address and paid a visit, knocking on the door... for 15 minutes I had to talk to this guys Dad, having him sit there and abuse me, telling me that the car i sold him was a lemon, that he would get people to come over to my place if i don't give him his money back etc.... my only response was "dude, it doesn't sound like a blown head gasket... get it to the mechanic on monday, get it looked at and we'll discuss further"... my girlfriend was listening to it all, and had to come out and pick up the phone to call the police... it was getting that bad. so, here i am.. car is sold and technically it's not my problem anymore, but hey... i would hate to be in the position, so i want to do the right thing.. so i am calling around, getting advice on what to look for and what additives may be in the coolant system to make it look like Oil. I'm calling mates, mates friends, mechanics, family members... going well out of my way to try and help out. monday comes and goes, he gets it to the mechanic, i'm touching base with bloke #2 letting him know progress and informing him that the mechanic that last worked on the car put an additive called "Sealwell" inside which turns the coolant to an oily gritty colour. the mechanic inspects it, drives it and it comes back clean - no problems with head gasket, car is in fine order - a few minor things needed to be tweaked, but all in all for a 2nd hand car a pretty damn clean car. basically he just found the Sealwell additive and everything else was fine. so finally, it's all over... bloke #1 is off the picture, bloke #2 has a car that works fine. question is, do i get an apology either from bloke #2 or his dad for out of line treatment? or perhaps even a thank you for following it through and trying to look after them? not likely... so yeah - if you get an offer from a car yard to buy your car... take it - seriously, it's not worth this much hassle. that's two weeks of pain in my life i will never get back.... meh! look forward to enjoying my new car though Thanks for listening to my whinge. Cheers..
