Yeah, well how about this...................
A HUGE storm was brewing in rocky this arvo, so just as I finish work I get a call from my wife, it's hailing about 5mins away from where I am, but where I am it is not even raining, but looks bad.
I when it started rain, it came down so fast that in about 30secs I was aquaplanning on the road, there was just that much water, so I managed to pull off and into a petrol station to take cover from the hail, which was just starting.
As soo as I stop, the siren on my car alarm goes off, I am like WTF!?!?!? The car is still running, I hit all the buttons on the remote for the alarm, no good, so there I am, surrounded by about a dozen other people in their cars, the siren BLARING and hail coming down........... The other people there were giving me some wierd looks. I wasnt game to get out of the car because the rain was coming in sideways, they were just going to have to deal with it.
So the hail ended and the rain eased up and I drove home and popped the bonnet and used the key to turn the siren off.
A HUGE THANK YOU To Chris Rogers, (that is his username on SAu), as he installed it and he was able to tell me that when the siren part gets wet it will sound, so I took it all apart, used a hirdryer to dry it out and then COULDNT GET IT BACK TOGETHER After a bit of fiddling and help from my wonderfully patient wife, we got it back together and bolted it all back in and hey presto it works fine.
The amount of people looking at me as I tried to drive home in the shortest amount of time possible was just about everyone....... even in the cabin it is bloody loud so I guess it would be the same loudness for those other people too...........
