  1. Thanks dude - one thing i forgot to add was roughly how much a set up like this would cost if i use mild steel for the exhaust...any ideas?
  2. RB20 + turbo + good exhaust = :jump: (read shit loads of power & fun) simple equation but i've never actually investigated the exhaust part myself...i'm after some help / advice with a new exhaust system for my r32 gtst. I want as much power gain as possible and for that really loud RB20/25/26 "howl". Do i simply need a cat-back system or do need dump pipes done as well? I have an Apexi PFC running the show and boost is up to about 10/11 psi...any info would be handy and if anyone knows any reputable, no-bullshit workshops in Sydney that'd be a real help too...
  3. 8ball - yeah mate you're right to own one, just save PLENTY of cash for insurance...as most ppl have said above. JustCar would be about the only company who would even insure you - i'm 24 and have a full no claim bonus and i still paid $1800...good luck dude
  4. ashes to ashes, dust to dust - may the '32 RIP...
  5. WHAT THE...? what f#$king lowlife would key a skyline??? good luck with the repair dude and here's hoping this dropkick gets caught in the act one day and appropriately "rehabilitated"...
  6. ha ha...very true! and then an after dinner cruise up to palm beach maybe...
  7. no for now sorry tosh...have to work on sunday if i can change it i'll let you know...
  8. ribs n rump definitely, but make it gordon...manly is quite possibly the worlds worst place to park, if you're lucky, you might manage to jag a park in Dee Why!!! Gordon has a huge carpark behind the restuarant which would make things a bit easier. Have been to both - BEST STEAK EVER!!!
  9. waker's short course started on an access road off the main straight into a series of S bends then onto the back straight through some witches hats then right into the main straight again chicaning through some witches hats then into a tightening right hander (which claimed a number of cars including one very unlucky BMW!!!), back across the start line, through the S bends, along the back straight again and then stopping in the "garage" just before the right onto the main straight...a pretty sweet run!
  10. Definitely an experience and great to see some japanese machinery win (although not a Nissan!!)- an awesome weekend if not bloody cold!!! There Simon (my co-driver) and I were thinking the jackets we got were too thick and we would never wear them - boy were we wrong!!! Although we were never in the running to be competitive, we had no incidents except for my "pirouette" on the wakefield short course!!! The 32 definitely needed more power and tighter handling but that's the plan for the next 12 months!!! Great meeting a few of you - sorry didn't hang back for a beer, was totally shagged and needed sleep
  11. 0414 959 991 - black r32 gtst, car number 12 - can't miss it! Definititely a beer or two is calling... Matt
  12. yeah food n drinks...all in the luxury of the porsche centre!
  13. scrutineering tonight ladies n gents...probably meet a few of you down there... 56 hours and counting! Matt
  14. cool, don't know model number - but if you enquire with anyone, tell them you want "low" not "super low". "Low" is 30mm lower than standard and most people advise against daily drivers with "super low" springs...
  15. wheels, tyres & king springs all up were 3.5k...could be cheaper i guess if you get smaller diameter wheels Flaps... Ryno - I guess where you're budget stretches, a good whiteline kit with shocks, springs & swaybars etc would ultimately yeild a better overall package but you're looking at over 2k for something like that, the shocks I got were pedders GT and fitted were 1k, with the king springs, their a good combo and certainly make a massive improvement over standard. Something else i'd recommend when lowering, particularly if you have much larger wheels / tyres is rolling the guards' lips, i've done the rear but the fronts need it now as well, particularly if you do track work where you're braking hard and turning at the same time. Lots of info but have definitely learned a lot out of this...
  16. thanks mate! Yeah they are Simmons "ALTA" (www.simmonswheel.com.au) and come in silver, charcoal & black (mine) - and they are 17 x 8 (F) and 17 x 9 ®
  17. it sits bloody brilliantly!!! Looks real tough and aggressive without being try-hard. Just had new shocks fitted (Pedders - budget couldn't strech to bilsteins) and my advice is to get new shocks as well ASAP!! All of the information posted in this thread is 100% true - mine now handles like a dream thanks to the stiffer springs and new shocks - best thing you can do to improve your car and it's perfect as a daily driver and a track weapon! Here's a pic of mine lowered...pretty sweet huh...
  18. GTST - is that a fact that HICAS only works above 80km/h?? I was going to get a locker kit for it but doing motorkhanas and the like i figured it would be quite handy...
  19. no idea what the offsets are (Mr Simmon's took care of that one) but the car is 30mm lower than factory. Yeah the rear left rubs when cornering hard or over a large bump but the guards haven't been touched - i'm getting the lips rolled next week...
