  1. Similar theme to this topic Start rant... Well RADAR detectors are about to be banned. Funny no one seems to be complaining about it? <_< Or, stranger, not after the lowest road toll for decades, thanks mainly to the new driving test rules, it seems that the real reason that people are dying is RADAR detetcors. Must ban them. Then of course there's the gymbyments commets last year that budgeted speed camera revenue will be/was down 10%. Must do something about that..... End rant.
  2. Replace the tensioner. Under no circumstances use the old one.
  3. Clean the bolt in thinners first (or use prepsol) Add the correct type of lock tight (sp?) on the bolt during assembly. Also I found 5th gear worked better if you have too much movement in the gearbox on fourth. This is esp. for the non turbo GTS.
  4. It has actually been known for Supercheap to stock car parts. They are cheap there. Don't muck about with people telling you to use other wise the NGK BCP6ES-11 for the RB25 are the go and cheap as well.
  5. The 100,000km one is the timing belt. The writing is either the date done or next due. You get this ticker with genuine Nissan timing belts for the RB series engine.
  6. Troy I'm sorry to hear that the car was stolen. Damn I remeber that thing from years back. On a sadder note something is going down in Perth ATM with imports getting knocked off and not being found. This is the fourth I've heard off since Christmas. The worse was a mates turbo Supra where they cut through three fences and drove a flat bed in to knock off the car. It had to be a flat bed cos ther car couldn't be towed normally due to suspension problems.
  7. Umm nothing can really be done if it's in a private car park, that is it just costs to bloody much for them to enforce it. There is the wheel clamping thing. Now to get around this you cut the padlock off and REPLACE it. No criminal damages done. If anyone can find a precedent for this in WA I'd love to hear it.
  8. Yes it does. On the RB 20 and RB25 you can either use the black wire from the back of the coil pack wiring loom or add a additional HT cable between the coil pack and plug on number one then take your reference from there.
  9. Build your own Skyline, Stagea or Gloria. http://www.nissan.co.jp/EVENT/PAPERCRAFT/lineup.html
  10. Are the guards replacement ones or the type that go over the top of the existing sheetmetal ?
  11. Here here.. excatly what I was getting at. Me thinks the key problem with the law is that it is left in the hands of a police officer. It makes him Judge, jury and excutioner.
  12. Some more info from others with this problem. http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthre...6266#post106266
  13. The problem basically is that the Police Officer is the one who starts the process off of confiscation. This is open to abuse. Lets say, being human, a cop has a bad day and you just happen to be around.... The best way is to ammend the law so that evidence isn't based on the lies the officer said. Say a photo, independant witness or video of the said incidence. That way pollies are happy, community wingers are happy and we are too. I do belive that the Liberal party is against this proposed law. I am looking into it.....
  14. Quote ___________________________________________ They can pry my car keys from my cold dead fingers ___________________________________________ I'm with you on that one mate. This is bollocks. How do I complain ?
  15. Just as a quick comparison for you guys. Me : 30 60% no claim with RAC. Clean record (2 speeding fines 8km over 7 years ago) and all accidents have been proved I was not at fault. (three prangs also about 7 years ago) Car : Me bunky every day driver. 93 TR Magna 4 cylinder auto wagon. Worth $3500 tops. How Much : $498 a year full.:bs!: I told them they were dreaming.....
  16. It will be only when a 60 year old gets his/her 89 Camry impounded and goes on TT that something MAY be done. As Colin Barnett said. It's a draconian law which, may increase the number of stolen cars and violence against police. Why doesn't the public in WA have a voice against these wacked out ideas I'll never know!
  17. If you find a line check the rear wheel arches and around the top of the windscreen. This is where they tend to rust first. I've seen 4 year old R33 GTR's rusted out in there's areas in the UK. Makes ya cry really.
  18. Hmmm. I am gunna get into trouble for this but anyhow. Well help in stopping your car getting stolen get a immobilser and alarm installed by a auto elec. These things are never installed right for under $100. By far the easiest way into a R33 would have to be the window. Either driver or passenger. Go out to you car and use your imagination as if you wanted to steal the damn thing and didn't car for the window guides or rubbers. Please be aware all Skyline owners have pitt bulls, alarms/immb and are angry as F**K if you go near their car with this intention.
  19. Zanda, Just a FYI. The only driving that takes place here in Perth is from the Container to the Quarantine wash area and then the yard. The yard is pretty busy but after having spent some time down there waiting for family to finish work I doubt that extra KM's occured here in Freo.
  20. I just sold mine a couple of months back. Watch out for clutch cable, clutch and timing chain and tappet noise. I had 255,000 Km on the orginal motor and it still went strong. Damn fine engine.
  21. In Bulgaria huh. Lada ? I'd go European. TVR's are about GBP40K new. Friend sold her two year old golf in the UK for the aussie ev. of $9000. The damn thing had a Recaro Factory int. Look at the UK used classic market and you'll find some real steals there. If I was any longer over there I would have bought back a S8 Audi. Two years old and only $40K. Just remeber that with any import insurance will be a nightmare, even thought they were delivered in Oz dosn't make it cheaper.
  22. The thing that they rock for is when you hit your windscreen washers the run off doesn't end up in through your drivers window.
  23. Quote __________________________________________________________________ Doh! Poor new zealanders. They should spend money on making decent roads over there instead of paying dumb ass politicians lots of money to make bad decisions like this. __________________________________________________________________ Not quite. The Kiwis have it VERY good. They get to bring in newer imports without bollocks taxes like us. Also, have you ever drivin on a Kiwi road. Didn't think so. According to New Zealand Performance Car the rules are a changing to stop older cars from coming in. This is to increase the average car age on the nations roads. It also stops the older pieces of junk i.e 15 year old grade three crap, from hitting the roads. I keep seeing these 15 YO cars coming in and honetly they are worse than a 15 YO Falcon or Commondore!
  24. Interesting. The Asutralian press report Ghosn as say something along the lines of the next GTR will be as big a leap forward as the R32 was to the R31. I hope they remain as a affordable dream car rather than a lotto winners dream.
  25. Thanks Rezz. $50K in NZ. Wow thats actually affordable over there !
