Im only starting brother, its pretty stock at the moment- turbo back zorst, coil overs, intake, R34smic and a slight boost increase. I plan on a hiflow turbo, upgraded injectors and front mount soon. I will be happy with around 250rwkw. Your 25/30 build sounds f**king promising though! I think the whole idea of the 6 speed is great in theory, but probably way too costly to make it worth it. Definitely worth looking around at it though and getting some prices, i always wish my liner had an extra gear on the highway.

Dude i think you will probably find its more bother than its worth.. in my experience these sorts of things tend to turn out costing more than the car itself. Is there a specific reason you wanted to go 6 speed?

f**k- another liner with Ls1. Good shit dudes, as far as i know the Ls1 is quite a light engine too, so it prob doesnt add too much weight. I would kill to drive a skyline with the grunt of a chev! Plus modifying those engines is quite cheap, so im sure its only a matter of time before we see some crazy ass 450rwkw chev powered skyline!

I think the stigma attached to skylines is purely because they are an import. In my opinion drivers of imports are always going to be targeted by police. From what i have gathered no-one here gives two f**ks about that though. Im only 24, but i tell you that my 54 year old dad absolutely loves taking my 33 out- the only thing he dislikes is that he could never own one because he knows he would loose his license. Much the same thing he said to me when i bought my yamaha R6 a few years back.. maybe i should of listened then though, 2 years without a license isnt fun!

haha yeah, those commy boys get the shits when a 6 nails em. I have always driven commodores, and LOVED my ss. Not ragging on ss commodores at all, cause they can be bloody awesome cars, but my skyline SHITS on it performance wise. I couldnt believe just how well it handled when i bought it.. i always say its a go kart with an rb25 in it haha

True that mate, to be honest i hardly see any p plate lines up here (central coast, Newcastle) I never was a skyline fan until i bought my 33 gtst off a mate, at $4000 i couldnt resist! All i can think now is that i would way prefer to be driving any sort of non turbo skyline than a commodore or falcon etc that most p platers have to resort to.

Oh yeah, and definately do ur plugs and coil packs ur self from now on- you wouldnt believe how easy it is. Im not the most mechanically minded person and it takes me less than half an hour to pull out gap and replace all my plugs.. not worth paying someone else for it, especially since they got it wrong

Probably not what mine was, but after i replaced my ecu i found the connection wasnt the best and was causing this exact same thing. I also had the same thing happen when i replaced my coil packs, and in a hurry forgot to clip number 6 back in!

Some of the old posts are great- my car is a 95 model, and plenty of posts that are 5 years old are still relevant to my car.

Hey dudes. Im having heaps of trouble getting my hands on a standard cat back exhaust for my r33 gtst to pass an epa test. So im wondering if anyone has had theres passed with aftermarket zorst in tact. I had it tested and it came in at 101db instead of 90. The car had an uncovered pod filter, dump pipe, hi flow cat and a 3 inch cat back with a cannon. (No mufflers or res between cat and cannon) To be honest, i f**king hate the cannon, and really want a normal style of muffler anyway, which i assume will knock a few db off. The guy at the epa said that the pod filter also adds extra noise from the induction. At the moment i am planning to put the standard airbox and standard cat back on, but am stumped as what to do to bring it under 90db? Open to any suggestions.. Cheers \m/ \m/

I can see why the P-platers want them. They are great looking cars! Obviously p platers cant drive anything quick these days, so why not drive something with good looks. Im sure a non turbo skyline would be much the same as a 6 cyl commodore power wise in a straight line (which most of us grew up driving) but they shit on them in handling and breaking. If i was 17 all over again, i would probably do the same.

Mate- buy the 34! In all honesty they are a much better car than a wrx. I know you were wanting to be talked out of it, but you will have tons of fun in the 34, and being part of this site means you will get your parts cheap, and the advice from the experts on here is priceless. f**k the suby, get a mans car!
