My point about the bodykits/paint is that they are essentially useless performance wise, as is the 6 speed box.. But nobody seems to jump up and down about other people spending their money on cosmetics. Strongly disagree with people doing mechanical things on a needs basis. I didnt put a full zorst on my car because it needed it- rather i like the sound and power increase. And thats without talking about all the useless shiny engine compartment parts that people spend there money on.. but last time i checked its up to the owner of the car how much money they spend and what on, after all isnt it all about the driver of the car being satisfied ? Dont get me wrong, i wouldnt spend 5 plus grand on a 6 speed box myself, nor would i spend 10 plus grand on a f**king paint job- but its not my money, and if its worth it to him then who cares?

Its seems they would have been done at 200k according to his post (by the previous owner) But that is purely taking the previous owners word for it. Edit- Do Rb 20's suffer from the same shitty coil packs the Rb25s do? My 25 behaved similar in some instances when the coils were rat shit.

Haha- so there is v8 civics after all.. brutal- in a still kinda gay way.

When i bought my 33 gtst it came with an uncovered pod. I was made aware of them soaking up heat so i made a shitty shield in an attempt to stop it, but dont think it helped much. I have never really cared either way, but after going in my other mates gtst with standard air box, the pod does give my car a much cooler induction sound. I honestly dont think there is too much in it if both are set up well, but there is a sound difference.

And yeah man, generally shorter gearing will get you snappier acceleration, i definitely wouldnt advise longer gearing! You would need the hp to get away with longer gears.

What your saying about it not getting any more in fifth is pretty standard i would assume.. I know when i was an enthusiastic p-plater (idiot driver haha) and i max speed ran my bommodore, it hit 200 in third, then when it hit 4th (overdrive, auto) it was still 200, but at like 3000rpm and wouldnt go any higher.. it actually kept dropping back to third. I think the issue is that the na engine doesnt have enough torque to keep it revving out the last gear, that and the fact the last gear is very long in order to keep the rpm low at highway cruising.. I would assume a turbo model would pull all the way to redline in final gear.

haha- good luck with this one mate, i can see people trying to f**k you up the arse for even asking this one.. But too me, i would think a na rb wouldnt have too much past 200. Probably comes down to gearing etc, but i think real world its probably got not too much more. And yeah man, b-bread is the shit, once you start you wont go back haha

Nismoid does have some solid points man, in just about every case its going to be cheaper and easier to start with the turbo model as its base has the better gearbox, diff and brakes as far as im aware. Having said that, i completely agree with your decision to do it your way. With these forums having wrecked turbo models all the time, you can pick up all your parts really cheaply anyway. Plus the plans for the car sound awesome.

The torque of a good v8 is unbeatable imo. Dont get me wrong, i love my rb's but i know that personally i can drive a v8 a bit more to its potential. I just find it easier to manage with the big fat even power curve! Having said that, i cant drive for shit in comparison to some of the drifters/racers i have seen on vid in this forum.
