  1. ^ x 2 mate. The information is very appreciated. My 33 is also a 95 model with an airbag and all the info i have found was very confusing as to what could or couldnt be done. Thanks for taking the time to leave the information to the others that need it!
  2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUuTb0M9YQI Lol @ the first comment under the vid!
  3. A bit off topic, but i have owned 3 commodores on lpg, a pathfinder on lpg and also a ba falcon we got converted to lpg by ford. Out of the 3 commodores only one has had very minor issues with the system, the pathfinder never had an issue but the falcon was nothing but a pain in the arse from the moment we took it to ford for the conversion. It was cutting out/stalling etc while my mrs was going around roundabouts with my baby girl in the back.. f**k that. It kept going back for months, luckily dad let us use his commodore so it wasnt endangering my little one. So in short, i think if you want a lpg car, that yes you should be prepared for the ocassional hiccup, and in my experience if you get a good one, hold on to it! Also the systems on the commodores CAN make them quite sluggish. I definitely dont think their should be the stigma attached to the lpg, but its something you need to be wary of, and if you arent keen, dont go there imo.
  4. I have a highflow cat myself, but i gotta say man- i just saw a decat pipe on the for sale thread for $60 delivered, doesnt get much better value than that.
  5. LMFAO!! I will be taking every f**king car i can to that damn place.. The one and only time i have ever paid to get a service done for me (i was working 70 hours a week while the mrs was pregnant so didnt have time) was at kmart. BIG MISTAKE. I got a service and needed two new rotors on the front and it cost me $1400 odd. I thought i was doing the right thing, and didnt want to hit my dad up to do it for me since i wouldnt be able to help him. Needless to say if i can get some of my stolen $ back, i will.
  6. Nothing wrong with a bit of self advertisement mate, but you should have been quicker! The op already had it done. Plus the third person speak isnt really necessary.
  7. Sounds like a plan mate! As far as a brake shoe goes it is just the pad set up in a drum brake.
  8. definitely agree with the kmart blokes there.. bearings and brakes are going to get dangerous if not attended to at some point, and i would suggest replacing the radiator hoses that are worn, as its never fun to overheat But otherwise things like exhaust manifold are just going to make it sound 'ticky' As far as tools, maybe you can get some help of a friend/family member in the meantime until you get stocked up!
  9. Doesnt sound too bad to me mate! Sure the list is quite long, and there will be some time involved, but hey- thats what the bunkie is for! Definitely learn some much needed hands on knowledge along the way!! Most of that list is composed of very cheap parts, and some i wouldnt bother with (cough cough- cat) TBH i would be suprised if the Mrs daily vx commodore came out with a list that looked better than that..
  10. true that, a fully suited tune is best option. But im pretty sure with the 33 you have to buy a Z32 ecu on top of that, could be wrong though.
  11. x2 Except you can get standard ecu remapped, there is Toshi on this site who does it either through custom mail order, or if you are in sydney, he can tune it on the road or dyno. Check his thread out. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/298912-cheapest-r33-ecu-remap-only-400-also-r32-r34-and-silvia/page__hl__toshi
  12. Congrats on the job man, (and choosing skyline lol) As far as power mods go, its completely up to you and what you want from the car. I think a good starting point is the usual bolt on mods. Full turbo back exhaust including hi flow cat, Some sort of boost control (your choice) High flow panel filter for the air box, fmic and an ecu upgrade. This sort of modification should see up to 200rwkw once its tuned, which is plenty good for a starting point. After this you can look at different turbo (or highflow standard) Bigger injectors, better flowing fuel pump and replace the afm, but of course it would need the ecu to be retuned with these additional mods. Good luck with the car man!
  13. I remember reading that the R34 smic is good for flowing around 200rwkw. And I replaced my side mount item with the 34 one because it is slightly larger and had done a few mods to my 33. Its definitely a cheap $50 odd option, but with the mods you are going for its really probably going to be at its limit. I have just bought one of the cooling pro black stealth fmic, and i feel that its well worth it considering it was only $500 brand new. I know from reading on here that my mods will give me roughly 180-200rwkw and i just dont think the 34 smic will be optimal. Plus i plan on a hi flow turbo, upgraded fuel pump and injectors in the future, and the 34 smic definitely wont be enough for that.
  14. The other guys have answered already, but mine atm has the mods you have listed on 3, and it hits 9psi naturally. Mine bog stock was 145rwkw (huge lol) but not sure what it is with the extra small mods. I have to tell you though that you need to count in getting your ecu remapped or go aftermarket. Mine hates anything from 10psi, and runs with flat spots etc. Im leaving my boost controller off until i get my ecu remapped for that exact reason.
  15. That civic is nice looking for the price. Looks more like a reasonable daily than a bunkie though- im with jonno, i say go old school man! As far as an immobiliser goes man, my old boy used to rig up a relay switch to my parker lights so it wouldnt go without the lights on. Was quite funny cause i used to forget to tell friends/mechanics etc they would be trying for ages before they called me lol. Simple as design, but it was cheap and easy (for him haha)
  16. LMFAO!! That exact photo, im glad you too felt the need to snap a photo- absolute goldness! p.s what site do you upload ur photos to? That way i can put my version up!
  17. Such a damn funny show man. Cutting reverse doughies in the pulsie!!
  18. haha some of the little beasts run quite well from my experience (and now these 2) Definitely not a 3cyl charade though!! lol And jonno, your mods sound awesome man!! haha. Have you watched the show angry boys? It sounds like the 'pulsie' they did up.
  19. lol- the car can go into 5th at 60 because of its sheer torque mate! Dont sell it short lol
  20. Lol- i know the one you mean! I probably wont be having mine in that carpark until august which sux, i got a holiday from my license I actually snapped a photo of mine parked in between yours and a grey r34 sedan quite a few months back.. I used to always park mine next to one of the other skylines if i could for laughs sake! (plus i knew i wouldnt get door bashed)
  21. Totally agree man. I just got into it coz she was all innocent then turned ho- lol. And yer man, i reckon the director of hi-5 was just a mad perv that wanted a 3 way with em! Picking girls that look like sisters for good measure,
