  1. Its a very good point, i stand by what i said though. And thats if someone robs me, they can have whatever they want. But if they want to try and step into a bedroom up the stairs where my family is, i will quite happily die trying to protect them. As a father and a husband that is my job. I also think that being sleepy wouldnt effect you too long considering the adrenaline levels that we all know happen even in a petty pub fight, let alone a home invasion. Having said all that, i have a big noisy dog which helps me with these situations and ive never had anything stolen from my house let alone burgled. (bought my parents house, lived her since i was born) Basically i like to think that its something i will never have to deal with, being they have to go through my dog first, which would be a noisy affair, in which time i would be fully prepared and have the police called. Edit- Basically its a very scary thought, and i think most people with families will do whatever they have to so that someone doesnt get hurt.
  2. Dont get me wrong if a thief was in my house in the middle of the night, i would give them my keys no problem to avoid being attacked. Also anything else that you would consider a possession. Having said that i would also stab anyone that was invading my home where my child and wife sleeps without a problem IF i had to. Good thing i have a big arsed noisy dog to alert me of these sorts of things. The way i see it cars and all that other bullshit can be replaced, if a burglar is in my home i see that as an attempt at hurting my family. Basically- i have a blade in my room, and i would protect the set of stairs where my family is, they could take anything from downstairs etc, but where my family sleeps is mine to protect,
  3. Shows how different their culture is generally, the bloke jumped out and started pushing him! I had a cop pull a gun on me years ago, and i flattened myself on the ground like a bitch and dribbled in my pants. I cant believe you would have the balls/stupidity to then get out and start pushing him around.
  4. Hi mate, welcome to the forums. First thing i would suggest, is tracking down a competent mechanic who has VERY SOLID knowledge of the gtr skyline. I was much less thorough when buying my gtst, but hey- the gtst was extremely cheap to begin with, and the cost of parts are next to nothing, the gtr is quite different. Rebuild prices on the engines of these things are much, much dearer as far as im aware! Anyway, as a bare minimum i would check this thread, some great tips for the skyline buyer in here. I know if it was me though, i would pay a work shop for a thorough inspection for peace of mind. http://www.skylinesa...uld-i-look-for/ Edit-i got beaten to it haha
  5. LMFAO!! Best answer this thread has offered. although i couldnt inflict the pic twice.
  6. Very highly doubt it is the coil packs then mate.. Usually a problem reserved for the old oem coils
  7. That could be it, but probably not. If there is a popping and spluttering, take note if it is at the same rev range everytime. If it is, i would put my money on coil packs. Check out this thread for some tips with the coil packs, and a quick fix you can do to them. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/32356-missfire-boost4500-5500-rpm-the-answer-for-me-at-least/
  8. Still pretty hard to get what you mean mate. Understandable though, considering you are new to it. If possible, can you take a video of the car while you are driving it? Should make things heaps easier. Does it have like a splutter/dead spot at 4000rpm, but pull well for the rest of the rev range?
  9. Everyone is different, Some can take 12psi on factory ecu, although not many. Mine doesnt take anymore then 8-9psi without getting the shitty flat-spots courtesy of the factory ecu. (also flat spots are dead on 3000 & 4500rpm) Definitely suggest winding it back down just to rule out the ecu.
  10. I was impressed by the post, i always like increasing my knowledge- especially on turbos etc. But then this line came along- f**king hell, i literally laughed out loud to the point my Mrs was questioning what i was looking at. Ten points for you sir!!
  11. My grandfather uses kero in his car wash and his cars have always looked excellent.. although he has only had 2 camry's in the time i have been alive haha. Either way, his first camry's paint still looked like new when he sold it. (about 2001) And his current camry is the same. I have only done it to my car once (when i washed it at his place) and it came up excellent. I think what deano has written is spot on, i dont think people should be worried about what it does to the paint.
  12. Username: Cannabiscorpse Quantity: 2 packs Pick Up / Delivered: Delivered Never done this group buy thing before, i take it i just put the payment through and pm you my address when i have done so?
  13. A bit off topic for this thread but need to do it. Spotted a blue s13 silvia in Lake Munmorah this arvo around 5pm. Pin dick was doing AT LEAST double the speed limit in a 50 zone after cutting me off to rip a shitty skid in front of me. He then proceeded to take both corners i saw him take on the wrong side of the road, one of the corners had a car coming in the other direction. All this while kids where playing on their pushbikes on the street. I know nobody on here probably knows such an idiot, but IF you do please pass on kindly this- they will be getting my size 13 all over their car to decorate that nice new paint job with.
  14. That sux mate, really sux. If i was you i would do the ring around for quotes or limp it in if you can. But when i busted my diff in my ss many years back these blokes were the best price. http://www.yellowpages.com.au/nsw/broadmeadow/newcastle-gearbox-diff-pty-ltd-11858623-listing.html I ended up selling the car so i cant comment on the work, but they were literally half the price of the manual transmission factory just up the road.
  15. I think it just completely depends on your intended use for the car etc. Highflow will be at its limits with that sort of power from what i have seen though. I would say the only upside to the highflow unit is that it will appear standard from the outside, making it harder to get defected etc if you dont engineer it. For the direct comparison of delivery/ lag etc your best bet is to spend some time in the rb25 turbo upgrade dyno thread. Heaps of good info in there mate.
  16. f**king dogs! I would have thought a job like that and they would have been driven to a warehouse and stripped for parts, not joyriding in it. Having said that i never quite understand the mind of a thief. Since he is insured and obviously the car is being thrashed, i hope the next place its spotted is around a tree or a telegraph pole with a maimed thief inside of it.
  17. Scum pieces of shit strike again, all i can think is that i hope they end up in maximum security somewhere with bubba and his 10 inch tool for a cell mate. I have to say though, if someone wants the cars so bad (obviously this case) there probably isnt too much you can do to stop it. I would never bother hiding my keys etc. IMO if they are going to come into the house etc to get them, then they are prepared to do what it takes to get them. Hiding the keys from them will just get you a wake up call from 3 scum bags who are most probably armed. Having a family, i will just insure my vehicles, and if someone wants the keys outta my house they can f**king take them.
  18. Looks pretty similar to the jjr decat pipe to me. Wouldnt think there is any issue.
  19. Anyone else find this line a bit hypocritical? Considering you took the time to bitch and moan about everyone else. Maybe post it in the for sale thread, and people would treat you like a retard. I mean come on, if you took all of 3 seconds to scroll down (and thats retard speed) you would clearly find the for sale thread. Also maybe dont sign up to a skyline site if you think all skyline drivers are idiots. Maybe try ebay, trading post or even gumtree if you cant afford the $2 fee.
  20. Lol @ The bloke on the bike running for just dicking around then! If he had done shit all wrong, then he had shit all to be worried about. Running from the police was the only reason they were in a pursuit. I know from my shitty experience with police pursuits, that they well and truely are not worth it. If i had stopped, i probably would have been on a 3 month holiday from my license. Instead, i got 2 years which i deserved. Another thing worth noting is because MOST POLICE break the pursuit, i was of the opinion i could easily get away like i had previously. If i hadnt had the one that chased me down, god knows how many times i would have done it.
  21. Not that i am proud of it- far from it actually, but i got chased on my r6 when i was 19. The cop said he clocked me @ 220 just before i stopped, and i also went through 2 red lights on the highway (one with a paddy wagon holding back traffic) and he still got close enough to get my number plate, so i stopped. Was a 7km chase, and obviously he broke all sorts of laws chasing me down. Because of this, he backed off the charges to orange lights and 180km/h. The thing is, as a young idiot motorcycle rider i thought i couldnt be caught and ran anytime they tried to stop me. If he hadnt done what he did i would have killed myself, and most probably others. Also, if you are going to be a f**kwitt like i was, then you CANNOT complain about others endangering the public. Its not like i could stand up in front of the judge and speak of the wrongdoing the police did. Also i tend to agree with what the others have said about getting an engineers certificate. Most police i have encountered are really great blokes if you are not a dick or a smartass (including the one who chased me on my bike) and if you dont have illegal mods, in MOST cases you dont need to worry. Obviously their are exceptions, but the majority are just doing their jobs trying to protect the public from idiots with shitty mods, driving like wankers. (Also i should point out, the road the police chased me on was a highway, only two sets of traffic lights, one had a paddy wagon holding back traffic and in the whole 7km chase we only overtook 14 cars. It COULD be perceived that what the cop did wasnt all that dangerous.)
  22. Lol- my parents had a gq rb30 carby patrol on lpg back in the day, Literally had trucks overtake us up hills on the freeway on the way to sydney. The things are built like tanks, a lpg rb30 just did not cut it power wise. Good luck with getting it sorted mate, wish i could be of some help to your problem. Let us know how you go. And will require pics once its turbo!!
  23. I was going to try and say something along the lines of the rb30e being a good upgrade for the patrol carby version, and about it being a solid, cheap and reliable motor. But hey, your words in this case are a much more fitting response.
  24. Thats the shit part about owning new/newish cars. You have to take it to approved 'mechanics' in order to keep your warranty, and that doesnt count trying to resell the thing. Even if the mechanics are a bunch of retards who f**k everything up, their little stamp holds a lot of weight.
  25. I have only got the boost gauge mate- i figure the others are more for high end engnes or cars that do track work etc. Dont think they are necessary on a mild streeter, however they cant hurt. The psi increase does make a difference, especially over the stock boost solenoid because it has a 2 stage boost delivery on the r33. (4.5psi below 4500rpm, 7psi above 4500rpm) Having said that i had already disconnected the 2 stage boost (from a thread in the diy section- 2 minute job) and with my exhaust mine already hit 8-9psi. My ecu is still stock at the moment, but as soon as im back on the road (august, courtesy of a stupid dui charge) I will be getting a remap done and running 12psi.
