Hi Duncan, Thanks for letting me sit in the R35..Your were pretty funny with your joke..I was to scared to try and open the door myself! Well done on your time! The GTR look great out there! Here are some pics from the day and me with my massive smile..LOL I was doing Race Control for the Super Sprint but couldnt get any good pics of you on the track through the window cause you were to quick!
-
Yep Ian the car does have a remote resetting button for the terratrip but it was broken so I couldnt use it for my first round. It has been on the list of things to do. So Round 2 if its working correctly should be a lot easier for me. The rally series I am currently doing is not pace notes its ...road book. Mark does has a lot of pacenote experience and I will be learning that style with him if I do WRC with him in September *fingers crossed* Thanks for your input..much appreciated.. Well I am counting down the days till the weekend...Flying out to Tassie Thursday afternoon for Round 2! Getting a bit nervous again as I always do but alot more confident this time cause I know what to expect! Here some pics of my weekend just gone...A very nice drive at the CAMS state super sprint let me sit in his R35...Whhhooooooooo

Thanks Charles....So that's the great crash they were talking about! I am sure I will see him again and next time will sit down for a longer chat and get a picture with him! LOL this is what happens when you come from SA...Have no clue who you are sitting next too P.s Two weeks to my next round of Rallying!!! Cant wait
-
Oh Thanks BB!! I coped enough of that on Sunday!!!!! So I googled and found this : So nice when you have someone like that sitting next to you and they are the nicest people!
-
Sure did the owner was lovely practically pushed me into the car Was pretty cool day..Some fantastic cars there! So do you guys know who "Kevin Bartlett" is? I was sitting next to him chatting in Race Control..When I find out at the end of the day once he had left that he was one of the great all time race car drivers in Oz....I was "LIKE WHAT THE! " I felt bad cause I didnt know who he was but he was lovely all the same! They are going to point out the retired race car drivers to me from now on
-
Yep Garth is a fantastic driver!! Drives the doors of anything he gets into LOL Not sure I would go in a Radical with him again tho unless I have my own helmet and strapped in really well..Got a bit bruised from the hot lap LOL On another note: Did Race Control at Oran Park on weekend for the last Historic meeting and look what was racing ....The original Skaife car too!
-
I think I have to thank you BB!!!!You jinxed me so good!! I got my hot lap in the Radical and I got it with Garth Walden!!! All I can say is OMFG! It was insanely quick and I have a smile on my face still now from it...That guy knows how to drive a Radical! I so want to own one now there incrediable cars I got a Hot Lap in the light blue one :

Some Video from my First Rally
-
I was in the audience for this top gear episode and got to see the car up close.. Didnt really like the inside of it, very custom but each to there own.. I didnt get to see under the bonnet either which was a shame I was right up the front of the audience for the R35 too and then they wheel the lap board out right in front of me lol so my 5 minutes of fame was shoot down in flames
-
so thoughts on NSW round?? Who's likely entering... It's alot of driving..... But would be very interesting I wont be doing it...I Dont feel I have the right car at the moment plus I'm focussing on other goals for the rest of the year..
-
Not sure Weevil - Fricker asked me to go for a ride in the Rad
-
Thanks Jason That would be cool! Thats the weekend after Rally Oz!! I swear if I get there I am going to try and meet sebastian Loeb..That will be my mission for the week! I wouldnt say I am good...at this point have a lot to learn but I am getting there!!!
-
I have a new respect for people that rally...It's Crazy! I dont get motion sickness...I love being in the passenger seat its just as much fun for me as driving! Hmm have you got a link for AMSAG? I need as much practice as I can get and if I could get a passenger ride in a local rally would be a bonus for me! Well Garth Walden is a completely different senario BB..That guy goes stupid quick in anything he gets into The Radical is a mate of mine and a member of my car club Southern Sporting. The hot laps will be a Eastern Creek!! So will ask what speed we hit on Turn 1..But I cant wait to get in it going to be insane!
-
Aww I know...and you changed a tyre on a stage too! Thanks to tell you the truth I was bit overwhelmed by it all...Scary stuff your first time! I love Tassie...It's an awesome place cause it has my favourite drink - Farmers Union Iced Coffee LOL and nicest people!
-
Cheers Guys It's been a bit of a struggle to find someone willing to teach me the ropes - But Mark and Amy Butcher are awesome people! I would have to say that it is one of the most incrediable rides I have ever been in...Beats a rollercoaster by 11ty billion! I get a ride in a Radical this weekend so see if that beats it..... Driving on dirt is something completely new for me and it's so much fun Going over a crest sidewayz is unreal and I get to do it all over again in a few weeks.. Just need to master my resetting capabilities!! Thanks Charles - Cant hold me down at the moment and big achievement for myself becoming a Rally Nav I have also taken on learning to be a Race Controller and that has just taken off for me I am at a race track in Sydney nearly every weekend up in the box telling officials what to do LOL The Box is the best position to watch awesome racing Best motorsport event I have done "comms" for so far was the Super Trucks at Oran Park last month - Those guys get up and move and dont feel a thing when they have a flat tyre or there brakes on fire... So when I am not rallying I am doing Race Control I'm Excited!
-
Hi guys, Just wanted to share my news cause it's pretty big for me I am now addicted to dirt and going sidewayz at stupid speeds! Some of you already know but I have finally reach my goal of learning to be come a Rally Navigator. Mark Butcher from Drivers Skills Australia has taken me on as his codriver in a Dirt Rally Series being held in Tasmania in his 02 WRX Imprezza (I know it's not a nissan but atleast it's turbo) and helping me learn to be a navigator. I will be doing all 4 rounds throught out the year in Tassie and fingers crossed I can get to Rally Australia in September with him also! My first event was on the 13th June and it was an experience to say the least! I have alot to learn and improve on but came 6th overall so wasnt to bad I think for Team with a new navigator. This type of rally is different to what I was expecting as is a "road book rally" and uses a terratrip to assist you ( I think I know why they use the word TERRA) LOL. I have a love/hate relationship with this machine and got the nickname "reset" while I was in Tassie as I have a hard time resetting the bloody thing I will get there...... I think this sort of rally is harder than pacenotes but I am yet to learn that as well. I got to meet Tim (Phat MR30) as he was Navigating in the Rally also. So cool to see another SAUer there I am traveling over to Tassie again on July 18th for Round 2 so wish me luck and hopefully will have some incar footage and more photos to show you all. Jess

Yeah but try something new...Done the GTR to death Will always be an awesome car but sometimes you have to put them back in the garage and get something different to be competative! If your keeping the GTR can always come out in a year or two and try again! It will never be over between you two haha
-
I seriously hope that is the case Snowy!! I have that much on this year that I might not be able to make the MT Buller Sprint..So want to experience it!
