  1. The filter box and snorkel on these cars does a great job of killing these induction noises. Until I modified my intake I had never heard a flutter either. If you take the snorkel off and turn the lid of the filter box so that it sucks from behind the washer bottle you can hear it clearly, because the space behind the front quarter panel amplifies it. lol
  2. trbo32 - As one of the 'know it all legends' I accept your apology.lol. I don't think anyone was having a go at you or patronising you. You were simply corrected. R31Nismoid - No R31s came with a BOV from the factory. trbo32 - Now you just watch what happens now. R31Nismoid will accept my above statement like a man, just as I have accepted his corrections in the past. Neither of us will jump up and down like children because we are all here to help each other and learn from each other. :Pres-hit:
  3. Check out this KGC10 GTX/R at the Nispares site. Old school, 'Olds Cool' http://www.nispares.com.au/
  4. It says that it will fit a GTS so I would assume YES. Why don't you phone them and ask.
  5. yeah, I haven't visited that site for a while. I should have checked it first I suppose. oh well. gooooorrnnnnne
  6. scary,(Maybe trbo32 backs me up when he stated that 'WRX's come out of the factory with no BOV.') Read the thread. WRXs 'DO' have a BOV
  7. www.skylineimports.com.au do a version of this kit. The red and yellow cars were from them. They are a modified copy of the kakimoto design.
  8. R31Nismoid- The R31 GTS-Rs did not come from the factory with a blow-off valve. Very few cars at the time did. You are 100% right about the turbos being rebuilt all the time. I am a firm believer in the blow-off valve for prolonging turbo life but just thought that I would mention the old Gibson R31s. The example that was in zoom magazine last year had been fitted with one at a later date. You are right that WRXs do come standard with one (I sold them in the late 90s). trbo32- you should be sure of things before you state them as facts. my 2c Geoff.
  9. me fink em is factry nissan rims
  10. Yeah....steal one...lol
  11. forget the rear strut bar. If you want less body roll you should spend your money on your anti-roll bars. On a road car a rear strut bar is more of a wank than anything. If the rest of your suspension is not sorted first it it a waste of money.
  12. If you know someone with old zoom magazines there was an article in one about putting import HR31 front struts and brakes in a gold GC210 skyline. The same car also had an RB20det put in it. I do remember there was a bit of modding involved.
  13. Surely they would be willing to sell them cheaper now. I know that I would rather make a little money than no money.
  14. Do a search and you will find a healthy R30 following here.
  15. The gimp says 'I lie ith aloht' (I like it alot) and so do I.:Pimp2: Very nice. :boobies2:
  16. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
  17. Try the old screwdriver stethiscope trick(tip against part & handle to ear). You may find that it is just the aircon belt idler pulley. This is quite common and can sound like it is coming from somewhere else. Once you have listened through a screwdriver you should be able to pinpoint the noise easily.
  18. GTRboy.....2 words......HONDA FORUM......
  19. The gibson motorsport R31s didn't use a blow off valve but that was in the 80s.
  20. Green.....................3rd one brought in was painted green.
  21. The guy with them on an X5 traded a Benz SLK & a C180 for it about 9 months ago. It's his first BMW. Had 19s on it from the factory.
  22. That sound is air bashing the sh1t out of your turbo. That is the reason cars have blow off valves. Some people like the flutter sound but if you are intending to extract any power from your car and you want the bearing in your turbo to last a while.....no good. Every time I hear that sound I cringe. Blow off valves are not there for noise, they were designed to prolong the life of the turbo.
