  7. one for roy. Heikki Kovalainen says he's ready to return to Formula One after once again showing Caterham what he's got in a Friday practice. The Finnish driver was in action for the team at the Suzuka circuit on Friday morning and covered 22 laps with a best time of 1:37.595. His time put him half a second up on race driver Giedo van der Garde. Kovalainen, though, has yet to learn whether he'll be back on the grid next season and is not willing to speculate about his chances. "The negotiations are going well," the Finn told the BBC. "Caterham know what they get from me. They just need to decide what they want to do. "I feel like I'm up for it and ready to go for next year." But, he added, "it's difficult to speculate whether or not I have a chance." http://www.planetf1.com/driver/18227/8967074/Kovalainen-up-for-F1-return

"My elbow got stuck between the chassis and the seat so when I had the oversteer moment, I could not turn right any more," he explained. "I am okay now, I had some pain in the elbow, but now I'm fine." http://www.planetf1.com/driver/18227/8967121/Bianchi-My-elbow-got-caught When the team inspected the chassis of his MR02 following its return to the pits, that they would not be able to repair the damage caused in time for the afternoon session. Instead they will build up their spare chassis and the Frenchman will return to the cockpit on Saturday morning in Practice Three. http://www1.skysports.com/f1/news/17581/8966963/marussias-jules-bianchi-will-miss-second-practice-after-suffering-chassis-damage

  10. Former Marussia test driver Maria de Villota has been found dead in a hotel room in Seville, Spain. The 33-year-old Spaniard's family broke the news on her Facebook page on Friday morning. "Dear friends, Maria has gone," read the message. "She had to go to heaven like all the angels. "We thank God for the extra year and a half that He left her with us." De Villota was reportedly in Seville this week to launch her autobiography "Life is a gift." She wrote the book after suffering life-changing injuries in a testing crash with Marussia last year. De Villota sustained a serious head injury and also lost her right eye. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends. http://www.planetf1.com/news/3213/8967099/De-Villota-Found-Dead-Age-33
