  7. Hi all So I have found my 34 and should be picking it up on Tuesday. Just wanting to double check a few things with changing the car into my name; The car has the used import pink/red plate, along with the blue nissan motor co plate and the aus vin number plate in the engine bay, i'm assuming they are all the required plates? Car has been registered and driven in aus for a couple of years. Does this mean it can be treated like any other used car now, in terms of just needing a RWC to transfer registration/ownership into my name? Any other comments or things I will need to transfer into my name? Sorry if they are noob questions, just want to make sure the change of hands happens smoothly Cheers

  10. Yeah, this is the space in which I wanted to get the conversation happening. I can totally understand why they are harder to sell, due to the myriad of reasons stated so far. But hey, that goes with the territory I guess... Just wondering, what should a buyer ask for in terms of documentation eg. log books, import documentation and the like? Is there anything that can substantiate mileage apart from visual wear and tear and other obvious give aways?
  11. errrr lol? Welcome Astushi.... so what you were trying to say is that a real racer will by a skyline to keep and use, not with the mindset to sell and make money (fairly difficult with any car). Fair call.
  12. apologies for necro.... but I am a HoN player (try to be) usually hang in Aus servers ~1700 psr. I play with the TGTz (trollers gonna trollz) boys at times. username: ra1dr
  13. no, not 100% serious but conversationally, in your example - doesn't the 5k price difference reflect the difference between an immaculate car and a clapped out example? as someone mentioned earlier I definitely believe these cars still fetch money not in correlation with their age, simply due to their features, styling and power which is well beyond their time. the japs def know their shit when it comes to cars
  14. spending 15k and getting 15k worth of car is the whole concept of exchanging money for goods, isn't it seriously though, good thoughts all around. what can I say - the import market intrigues me. was thinking about seeing if chef could hook me up......free reacharounds!
  15. Mate, im over 25 and am more than happy to spend at least 15k for the right vehicle. I just want to stimulate some convo, particularly from current skyline owners (which will soon be me) You don't buy a car like this because it's cheap to run and will hold its value. What attracts me to the car is its uniqueness, styling and power - it is a hard thing to quantify which is why pricing is a contentious issue in my mind. No lowballing here
  16. As a matter of fact I am after a R34 GTT. I think the problem is that diposers of this type of car still think they can get rid of them at a decent dollar, comparative to what they have spent. This is clearly not the case as the demand has gone way down, and the 'market' price just hasnt reflected this. None of the cars I have been monitoring have been going for $20k...not sure how location affects this though. Seems to be a lot more better quality in nsw/vic Simple fact is that banks have tightened up = less unsecured personal loans.
  17. Being in the market for a skyline/import car, I have been considering the future of when I have had my use of the car and am in the market to sell. At a guess I would say that these types of car depreciate less than your regular domestic vehicles (i'm encouraging someone to state otherwise). Naturally I am hanging out for a car with low k's and clean history (if any exists) to potentially forego any issues when it comes to sale time. Obviously P plate limitations, the GFC, and perhaps recent events in Japan have affected this market, and therefore the resell potential of these vehicles. Since looking for a suitable car (carsales/forums/ebay) I have noticed that many of the same cars remain on these sites for months and months and mainly the ones with sharp price drops get sold. I have just been thinking, is the market for these cars dying off that badly? Naturally the target market for these cars and hence demand, is a lot smaller which makes me wonder is buying one a really dumb idea? cheers

    Oh Hi

Have already found my way to that thread man, a good read. In the process of finalising my finance then I can start looking seriously! Eagerly awaiting a PM as we speak...
  19. After lurking in the used car section for a while, I have finally decided to make an account....so hi all I have owned a string of holdens (incl a VL) and am finally at the age where I can safely delve into skyline ownership, and as such am on the lookout for a good R34 GT-T with low k's (in QLD would be great). Like everything I like to research and get my head in the right place, so any tips about avoiding a lemon would be great. Cheers Clinton
