  1. Just had a look at the vic roads site, a bit more helpful. Whilst it has signatories for vehicle mods, it is no longer an 'engineers certificate per say. the crazy thing is it even lists several signatories for NSW, a whole 2 for SA and lots for vic. Might be worht a look if anyone is thinking of doing this: http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/vrne/vrnint...nDocument&Area=
  2. Just had a look, none of the guys listed can certify modifications to passenger vehicles apart from hand and foot controls. All others only certify for light or heavy commercial type vehicles,
  3. good stuff browny, thanks alot:)
  4. sidewaymambo, no probs, meggala thanks for that will check it out:)
  5. I think you will find that the 1/4 time posted by GTSt VSPEC and the rwhp that is quoted is seperated by a fair break in time. Since that 1/4 the turbo was upgraded, thus the apparent inconsistancy.
  6. Hi, Anybody out there had mods engineer certified? or know where it can be done in QLD or NSW? EDIT: or in Vic:) I was making some enquiries into getting mods engineers certified to comply with ADRs. It would appear that an engineers report from any 'Chartered Professional Engineer' will be accepted, subject to inspection of course. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated, I have done a couple of searches on the web, but information seems scant. Thanks for your time Steve
  7. Sorry Benm, I dont know how much it would cost. Why not give it a go your self? Couldnt be more than a 1 hour job to fit? BOOSTD? so on standard mech rates around $50-$70. Its seems pretty common, with stock cams to set up R33 to -4deg exh side. Rob77, it was a second hand one from Japan that James picked up when he was over there. they also have a set of 2 second hand if anyone is chasing more. think they are asking around $150 for both.
  8. 4 Doorz, the post just set off alarm bells, so injecting a word of caution. Every last pony insights visions of max hp on a dyno - to me anyways. I had someone do a 'get every pony possible' tune, and it wasnt long before I took it somewhere else and got a retune. I completely agree with you, WRT a good tune. My car doesnt get track tuned, but it does get a good workout on the street. And yes it does cost extra, but well worth it IMHO. Check engine light - some people dont keep an eye on their check engine light, and usually pay the price.
  9. One word : DETONATION. If you try and extract evey last pony, as soon as the air temp changes, or you get a slightly off batch of fuel etc, your check engine light starts flashing away at you, ignore it and do a rebuild. Its a real pain (talking from experience). If you go for a more conservative tune, it is more likely to give you a longer, hassell free life. 0.02
  10. Ooops sorry. Seems a shame to be spending so much time on a car and then sell it:( Probably better off stocking it out and selling it as a stocker - give you some nice bits for your next project. Good luck with the sale.
  11. Bring her, and the whole family - we can throw an extra snag on the barbie:) And as for car - get a lift.
  12. Interested in selling the oil cooler?
  13. Hippy, easy fixed, come to drift day, go for a break to cousins b'day, come back to drift day - no problem. Either that or bring your cousin along for his birthday!
  14. The harder the sus, the more prone to oversteer, wet or dry - its just more obvoius in the wet;)
  15. They must be pretty old type. I have old type, and the fronts adjust the same as you mentioned, but the rears have a rotating vavle adjust on the body near the lower mount?? Have you checked the ohlins site?
  16. HKS2530 - killer.
  17. Got it:)
  18. T-man, I have dropped you a couple of pm's with no reply? Just want to make sure everything is straight for the day:)
  19. Sounds like you are experiencing compressor surge. Not entirely uncommon when people high flow turbos. It is caused because the turbine wheel/housing is now miss matched to the compressor whee/housing. Get the exhaust housing machined out. If you do a search, this problem has come up before. Also, BOOSTD had a few problems in this area when he changed the compressor wheel on his turbo.
  20. Joel, GTRKen and Lumpy will be there from WA too:)
  21. Is this a business post? If so shouldnt it be in the business section?
  22. Also, D1 Garage have new bosch pumps for around $270, not sure which model. they have e-mail now too (at last) www.d1garage.com
