  1. 4door_sleeper, when you consider the cost of a fully built V8, dollar for dollar an old monaro would destroy a stock or even mildly modded GTR. A mate in WA had a XE 351 that ran 11s, cost under 20k. Parts are soooo much cheaper, no need for ecus, no need for an intercooler, no need for a turbo, etc.
  2. I had a turbosmart type 2, but replaced it with a trust type r because I am going to be running higher boost and needed a bigger BOV.
  3. The fluttering noise is air reversing through the compressor wheel which is bad. this is because the BOV isnt lifting off. Best is to get an adjustable one, so it will lift when it should. Most BOVs that I have seen are adjustable. Other than that there is a legal perspective too. Atmo vent are illegal on the street, plumb back are legal.
  4. Probably not alot more. Even with 203rwkw and a tuned ecu, my injectors were over 80% duty cycle, so if you plan on heading much further you need to upgrade the fuel system.
  5. Main benefit is from a flow point (less bends than stock) and you are shortening the pipework if you have a FMIC. Stock cooler, forget it. If you are going for big hp, further flow advantages with a larger throttle body. Stock ecu, spend the money on upgrading that first.
  6. Dean, got busy at work, still havent got a final word from the track owners:( Tomorrow hopefully.
  7. Sorry, not yet.
  8. Just find a really big car park in an industrial area:) Hmm then agian, the local residents might play up
  9. Cant have that, wheels might provide better grip, and cars that handle better - WTF is going on! Its bloody outrages... So why didnt the local residents of the industrial area get done for squating?????? Yeah, I am sure that they are really concerned - bunch of no life farks.
  10. www.greenline.jp or http://www.nengun.siteblast.com/gallery.as...ge=7&shopperid= Depends on the yen, but expect around $1100 ish
  11. I can chip in no probs, just not sure if I will be able to make it:( Sorry Dean, Dean stop reading this thread.....
  12. There is a guy in adelaide who can do an emissions test on a dyno, but the accuracy is not high enough for the RTA. To get the accuracy they require involves mitsubishi and $3k. I was also told that the NSW govt provides free emissions testing, that is accepted in SA. Wonder how hard it would be to get that done? Even if you have to grease the wheels a bit, it would be alot cheaper than going to mitsubishi.
  13. You are not trying hard enough, I can get my stock gemini (auto) sideways with a hand brake and enough speed;)
  14. aaww, only trying to help. What's wrong with a titty bar? We could always get them to put electrical tape on their nipples if you find them offensive?????? :boobies2: Sorry Miss*33, sometimes I just cant help myself:(
  15. Miss*33, just use the park brake, or wait until its raining.
  16. You could always post up a 'party suggestions' thread - I'm sure the collective members of this forum would be able to work out something for you;) Are you feeling brave:)
  17. Thanks Phillip, I was hoping that one might be found local, save waiting for a couple of weeks - I want my car on the road:(
  18. Were the matters resolved to the satisfaction of the vehicle owners? I would love to know how an exhaust system is lost. sidewaymambo, now worries, all good info:) I like your choice of BOV too;) B-man, it is a fine line, so fair enough if you are not sure if you are crossing it. I didnt see the thread you are talking about. Recently we had a thread in the SA section that a business got upset about, so the mod just edited any bits that crossed the line. Sometimes people have trouble being objective, which is human, but can leave forums like this without much choice but to start editing. As you stated earlier, I just hope that others may learn lessons from the experiences outlined here, and take any necessary steps to avoid costly hassels themselves.
  19. www.d1garage.com/Parts6.htm have new Ikeya formula ones in stock.
  20. If you arent after more than 250rwkw, I would recommend you look at possibly fitting a GTR or Z32 fuel pump instead of the bosch 044 - alot less stuffing around. Mine made 203 with power fc, fmic, exhaust and .85bar, so you could well be getting over that with 1 bar.
  21. And perhaps an indication of whether you are up for lunch, breakfast or both!
  22. Extra fat and MSG in mine please:)
  23. What sort of power are you chasing? I had 203rwkw out or mine, so you may be ok, just would be worth upgrading in the future to be on the safe side.
  24. Bl4cK32, I intend sending it back to them. If they dont want to refund, then I will take it further for the reasons you stated. Still an expensive lesson, as I have to pay to get the new plenum fitted and get all the pipework re-plumbed. B-man, no worries, I spoke to them directly and went by what they told me, then made my own decisions. I think that as long as you right a factual account of your dealings, make it factual and verifyable, not emotive or based on feelings and you can say what you want. Lesson to be learnt - buy a tried and tested product, that way you wont get any suprises. I am getting a trust plenum. They fit straight up, everything attaches, and there are 100s if not thousands of satisfied customers using them already. I used to be a big believer that australian made products will perform as well as japanese, and where possible use them. From now on, I only buy Japanese made performance parts.
