I am thinking a private SAU bbq. If we start charging people, chances are the park will get their noses out of joint, plus it would be a bit difficult to know how many people to cater for.

Any pics?

I am hoping that I will get a refund, just need to find a trust plenum asap so I can get my car running ok, then return the hills one and hope for the best. Do you still have the adaptor to stock throttle body? I may be inerested in unloading it off you. Also, where did you get the trust plenum from? did they order it or do they carry stock? also, roughly how much did it cost if that isnt a rude question? Cheers Steve

jtir, do tell? Tony, the q45 is bolt on for the trust plenum.

:bahaha: so sad, but true. Too busy running around defecting people - that raises revenue.

Decent sounds good:) T-man, pm sent regarding food:D

Bl4cK32, hopefully it will be a lunch time thing too. I just spoke to the guys at the track, apparently they are doing a sausage sizzle and so may not like the idea of us doing the same - might be a anything execpt sausages. T-man, how hard would it be to organise a rissole sizzle? I will find out more on Monday.

Get rid of that camber! that will make a huge difference.

Thats it, I am never going to be seen during the day again - gotta keep the illusion alive. OK maybe I dont look 90, but I dont look like no spring chicken either. So when is your birthday Miss*33? And when is the party:D

Hopefully, soon I will have a trust plenum too. It sort of shits me because not only do I need to buy another plenum, I will have to get all the pipework redone. It cost me nearly $400 for the pipework, gaskets, fitting and vacuum block needed with the Hills plenum. And of course I need to retune the bloody thing again. Which throttle body are you using? Is it the infinity one? What do they cost? cos it might be more worthwhile than using the stock one as an adaptor cost $150. Cheers

Nah hippy it truely is the night time, just like in night clubs when you meet someone and then when they turn on the ugly lights you get scared and run away. In the sun I look about 90:p

Thanks BOOSTD, chase cam???? Now I gotta start working on getting the rest of the car sorted, interior (some nice work you got there! inspirational:)) body kit, tyres with grip. Just had some hard mount cradle bushes fitted, but havent had a chance to see how much effect they have as the problem with the plenum/throttle body appeared. It never ends.

Thanks guys. I hope by posting up here that someone can learn from my experiences, and hopefully dont end up with the dramas that I experienced. Now to find a replacement plenum. I would love to get a trust one, but they take ages to get here and I want to get my car back on the road. If I persist with this plenum, I am not sure how much more it will cost me to get it sorted - it is becoming a money pit. At the minimum I am looking at remove and replace, gaskets and the cost of facing. It is one very expensive plenum.

If anybody has one for sale, please let me know Cheers Steve

Night time is my friend:D

This is based on my first hand experience. Please dont ask me for opinions, as I do beleive that it would contradict the rules of this forum. I originally ordered the plenum in the early part of this year, and had paid in full - $890 to supply a plenum with ford throttle body. As a full bolt on that allows all factory options such as idle control to be run. When I asked them to send it to me, it was a few months later, he told me then that the throttle body has a ford TPS and would not work as it was with a nissan. I was also then told that the throttle butterfly had a couple of small holes that I 'might have to do something with'. Fortuneately I did find someone who filled the holes and was able to make an adaptor for the ford throttle body to nissan TPS. Upon receipt, I discovered that the flange that the throttle body mounts to was to suit a factory nissan skyline throttle body, not the supplied (second hand ford explorer) item. Also the bottom of the plenum had been welded after it had been faced, then finished with an oil stone which was close enough. (this is because I rang Hills and asked why it wasnt faced). So I sent the plenum back to have the flange for the throttle body changed. This was promised to be done on the day it arrived, and overnighted back. I overnighted the plenum to Hills, it came back 4 days later. Upon fitting it was discovered that there werent enough places to attach vacuum lines, so I had to have a block made up and tapped it into my PCV line. Also, where the brake booster attaches to the plenum has been located behind the AAC valve, so to adjust it you need to remove the brake boost line first, hold your hand over the hole and use a very short screw driver as otherwise it is impossible to access the vavle. A couple more surprises. Finally today I found the source of my vacuum leak that had been making impossible to maintain anything close to stable rpm below 11-1200. The throttle body flange is not true, by close to 1mm, causing quite a severe leak. I have tried using thicker gasket paper, didnt work, tried using 3bond, didnt work. So I now have to remove the plenum and take it to get it faced. I hope there are no more surprises. This is becoming a VERY expensive exercise. Trust plenums cost $1100, bolt straight up, and work well. I will soon have a hills plenum for sale if anybody is interested, please pm me.

shouldnt have a noticeable amount. My RB25 has nearly clocked 60,000 and still doesnt seem to have any. But I would imagine it would be impossible for an engine not to have any at all, esp when boosting:)

Well I am pretty old:p

manifold and a good tune - you reckon you have traction probs now:D If you find a spare adj cam gear that would probably help too.

Blow by is the gases going past the pistons during combustion, these gasses are circulated to the rockercover where they then get redirected, one way or another, to eventually be burnt again in the cylinders (if you dont fit a atmo vent catch can of filter). If the rings are starting to wear a bit, blow by will increase, and it would be noticable when opening the oil filler that alot of air seems to be getting forced out. If there appears to be no air being forced out, 'usually' means the rings are ok. Jimbo2000, the smoke you see from a dyno run is because the AF ratios are intentionally richer during power runs, which helps control detonation.

You win some, you loose some. Merli states he has been running his redline at 8k for over 11months, with 280rwkw at 1.2bar and stock internals. MattR, as long as you had fun dropping it:D

Found out some interesting news about emissions testing. Aparrently this place that does the $350 test isnt being accepted by regency, but they are still trying to fight that one. BUT, they will accept emissions tests done by NSW govt, or at mitsubishi. Who cares? I have been told that it is free in NSW vs $3k at mitsubishi, just got to book your car in???? Would be interesting to see how hard it would be to get in, cos if it costs $3k here, NSW suddenly looks like a fantastic place to take a holiday. Will have to investigate further....

Actually, you should change your nick to asbestos, 'cos you would keep the heat off anyone:D;)

Didnt see any, I just followed BOOSTD. Crazy mofo, you should be entering that drift comp, some very nice throttle steering happening in the wet there.
