  1. Still collecting signatures, hopefully get a few hundred more at the drift day:)
  2. between 0.4 and 0.6V indicates throttle shut. I find mine idles best at around 0.6. Under 0.4 will indicate a fault with TPS, perhaps the 5V is doing the same thing.
  3. around 11psi eh? boost cut perhaps, try dropping the boost to 10spi and see if it gets better. Oh, and buy a power fc:p
  4. I dont have anything to wear:(
  5. cmon cheeky, at the end of the day he is still a bloke and where all the same, just some dont admit it, eh Matt?
  6. Rain forcast - should make it interesting, shame it will keep the speeds down a bit.
  7. FYI, They are not employed by SAPOL, technically or otherwise. They are empowered by the Road Traffic Act to act in certain matters on behalf of the Transport Minister, just as the SAPOL are, but it doesnt make them employees of SAPOL - maybe this is the problem with them?. This is an act of Parliament, not criminal or common law. Regency inspectors are public servants, now called public sector employees, probably because they dont know what service is. It seems pretty obvious to me, when an ex-employee doesnt even know what powers they have, or where their charter is derived - that there is something very wrong.
  8. How long did they impound it for?
  9. Out of interest Regency Chicky, just what is the Regency Customer Service Policy? did you ever even see one when you worked there? If they dont have one, why not, after all they do take money from people for a service.
  10. the settings are safely sitting in my power fc:)
  11. Are you serious? regency actually allows rebirthing due to their lax attitude - they have been slammed (very recently) by federal bodies because of this. Ok, so its perfectly acceptable to leave someone stranded. If the police did this, lawyers would have a field day, this lady is a victim of crime, at least the criminals get a lift - its called duty of care, what would happen if this woman had to pick up children from day care, or school, or was abducted as she attempted to walk home? I think you worked at regency for too long. Put yourself in the shoes of others for a second, these little self serving government employees have obviously forgotten what being a public servant is - power corrupts.
  12. Just checked on a mates car who has 550cc sard in an S14, the injector lag was +0.08. This car was set up by a jap mechanic and runs well, also has the same cams as mine. I had to dump in a fair bit of fuel, but now the car is idleing perfect under EL and throttle response is crisper than when I had +0.38 ms. Thanks heaps for all your help:)
  13. gotta educate the little guys some time:) j/k, but the wife defineately raised an eyebrow.
  14. No probs SK, will make sure I bring a 6 pack down:)
  15. hours of fun - the kids were a bit confused though:)
  16. You answer your own question. "250 at the rears will be plenty' at this sort of power a GT30 will be fine - a gt35 will be a bit of overkill, unecessary lag. The bigger the compressor, the later you should be making boost or else you will get surge. If you want to go a GT35 internal gate, make sure you run a decent AR ratio on the turbine, otherwise the internal gate will have to do too much work. If you can imagine that wastegates are like taps - the more flow you need the bigger the tap should be (garden tap v's fire hydrant). If the turbine AR is too small, it will not be able to pass enough gas to hold lower boost pressures, resulting in boost spikes. Also, the larger the AR, the greater the lag - its always a compromise somewhere.
  17. I have never taken my car down the 1/4, when I drive hard, I like it to last a bit longer than a few seconds. It is a daily driver. Not huge on cruises, prefer to go for drives with smaller groups. Cruises tend to attract too much attention and end up stuck behind guys who may not be too interested in a spirited drive. BTW DJ, are you going to answer my questions?
  18. Oops, sorry, your right, it definately does seem some people dont have enough discretion to know what and where go together. They just end up makeing life tough for everyone.
  19. Shannon and Matt, are you guys saying if you got your car defected you would return it to stock and leave it completely stock? Anything on your car that isnt OEM may give rise to doubt and off to regency you go. Then again, I have been told stories of people being defected for stock BOVs - as, to quote the traffic cop I spoke to at Holden Hill - 'all BOVs are illegal, if your car has one, it will be defected' The last time Dean got defected, as he points out, he was just going to the movies minding his own business, how does this make him 'silly enough to be defected'? His car has alot less mods than so many cars on the streets. With the law the way it is, no one is immune.
  20. meggala, good to hear you got such good results from the turbo and glad the thread was of help. Pretty responsive little package you have there - I wonder what the advocates of never using bush bearing turbos would say to your results? so it would follow that my car shouldnt be running. where do you get your info from? heresay, or actual experience? I can understand concern for someone who may damage their car, but dude, give it a rest - your not their mother. I had no probs at all running on base map in summer. when it made it to the dyno it was rich everywhere. but anyway, thats a bit off subject
  21. just remeber, no matter how good they look, some poor bugger somewhere is putting up with their shit. *dons flame suit*
  22. good post. This thread really is taking on the proportions of a witch hunt.
  23. We just want to be like you Matt!
  24. maybe your stomach is going through withdrawls. I am sure maccas is very nutricious - it has green stuff in it. thats my theory anyhow, and I am sticking to it:)
