    Hid's

Best company? well, how much do you want to pay? I bought some from Bankids, best price and worked well, so that's where my vote goes Another option would be Jshop, they can install for you too, if you dont feel comfortable doing it yourself. Just on the note of legality, they Dont have to have a projector lens (some cars come out with HIDs and no projector, but have specially designed 'hoods' to prevent the light going where it shouldn't), but Must be self leveling and have washers fitted (ADRs) for the reasons as pointed out above. Also, the road traffic act states the colour of headlights should be 'white' which doesnt say much for the older cars with yellow tinged headlights, but basically if you go for a blue/purple tinge, you are asking for trouble Best light to use is around 4300K, which gives more light than the other colours anyways, and does have a very slight blue tinge like the mercs,
  2. 9500 kms - just get RAC to do a check, make sure there is no major unseen damage etc. RAC spend arou nd 2.5 hours to do an inspection, they are very thorough, but they dont know much about imports but with 9500km, the car should appear in absolute show room condition, quite literally, and there is probably not much that a performance workshop could add to the value of an inspection done by RAC If it doesnt look like it is just off the showroom floor, (eg, pedals showing signs of wear, etc) be vary wary - 9,500kms is nothing - engine is only just run in
  3. Yeah, it was recommended by welshpool to complain to the commissioner and ask for costs (inspection costs, and time costs) which we will be doing - as well as having put in a complaint to the ombudsman As for defects, according to the supervisor of Snr Con Cross (who defected my car) if he has any suspicion that something is unroadworthy, he can defect. simple as that. I think it's this attitude, where cops have no idea, so just send the car to welshpool anyway, that is the cause of the problems the vehicle inspection branch are having.
  4. went down and had the windscreen tested - its well within limits, as you would expect for factory glass welshpool said they want to use the windscreen defect as an example of the crap they are getting sent from the police - also stated they get alot for 'unknown modifications' even on fully stock cars! they, apparently, have had enough of this crap too
  5. I got defected for one thing around 20 years ago mind you it was a fair call, I buckled a rim being stupid, instead of dangerous driving, undue care, excessive noise etc, I just got a yellow... back when cops were reasonable human beings
  6. Thanks Chukie, that seems to be for the back windows? I wish the lexus had privacy glass, but all I have is standard stuff Thanks for posting it up though, it may help others with privacy glass fitted - unless the meet up with snr Cross that is...
  7. Hey Chuckie - could you re-attach a copy of that letter? it's not showing up (or do I need to do something to download it?) They had a tester, but couldnt attach to the front windscreen, they tested the others which were fine, they didnt have the peice of paper that they use unfortunately The front windscreen must have a minimum of 75% 'luminous transmittance' or something like that, but it must be glazing (i.e. the manufacture of the windscreen) no tint film is allowed on the windscreen except for the top area of the windscreen above the are swept by the wipers etc... But that aside, there is no film attached to the windscreen, and the other other cop on scene pointed that out, it does however have 'LEXUS', 'TOYOTA', JIS and E markings on it, genuine factory glass - Snr Cont Cross is just plain and simple being a cockhead imo
  8. hmm, run scared or stand up for myself???? pass on the running scared If I roll over and take this one, how is that NOT dropping my pants and bending over? Fark em
  9. what will it achieve? personal satisfaction knowing I didnt just roll over and let him screw me... My brother in law is a cop - when an investigation is conducted, and the officer is found to be 'remiss' in their actions, remedial action is taken Enough people complain, and something may happen - no one complains, NOTHING will ever happen Plus, I would like an appology from the responsible party - that may never happen, but I will be asking for it - really, a bit of common sense instead of bloody mindedness on his part and we could have all had a good day that day If the police will hold me responsible and answerable for my actions - they can do the same
  10. It just looks like normal factory glass you see on all cars... doesnt even have the top part tinted like so many cars do, no tint on any of the windows
  11. Have already spoken to the police ombudsman, they requested we submit a formal complaint Will definately be taking this further Its just great to know that you can get defected for an OEM item - basically means I cannot drive the car anywhere Maybe I should just cut my losses, sell the toyota and buy a nissan - I wonder what toyota would think about their cars being defected for factory fitted windscreens edit: Ryan, its funny you mention being able to see the film, one of the other cops on the scene actually pointed out to the guy who gave the defect that there was no evidence of any film fitted to the windscreen!
  12. Well, after adamantly defending the police for years, I have finally been screwed by them Senior Constable Cross issued a yellow for a Toyota genuine factory fitted windscreen on a celsior as he said he believed it had tint fitted based on the fact that 'it looked dark' (there is absolutely no tint fitted, and the other officer said he could see no evidence of film) Even my brother in law, who is a cop, is bloody livid about it bloody unbeleivable Must be a new PR push
  13. WGMG, when you are selling something, and someone tells you they will take it, but then back out - and you have turned down other buyers - happened to me way too often Nothing is sold until cash changes hands - if you really want something, put a deposit on it
  14. You really should ask first I discussed the state of the tune, I paid extra for him to try and sort it (Yes, I f**kING PAID) But thank you for your wonderful advice I posted up here so that others reading this thread would realise that not all things are roses and goodness - and wont end up wasting big $$$ for f**k all But you please feel free to use them.

I have some new Cucso rear camber arms suit R32/A31/S13 - $330 New Ikeya Formula front Lower Control Arms suit S14/S15 or S13 with 5stud conversion - $820 Adjustable track width (more track = reduced weight transfer when cornering) and changes the geometry of the LCA to improve handling Located in WA (Perth Metro) will ship at buyers expense
  17. I personally dont like the guy, cos he charged me 50/tyre to fit and balance (made excuses after I arrived, when he first quoted me $15 each) but, I beleive Tyrepower in Myaree are the bridgestone R comp dealers - they sell RE55s anyways, so may be worth a try... Why do you need RE01Rs BTW?
  18. These pumps are excellent - I have one in my sil, got it tested (just to see if it did what it was supposed to) and it flowed 4.1L/min at 3 bar - enough for 700hp according to the guys that tested it, so very under-rated by tomei It's quieter than the GTR pump that was in there
  19. got it sorted by Ovaboost, they do good work, and a hell of alot cheaper - $300 for a complete retune, and they even pulled the rocker cover off (bit harder on SR than cam gear covers on RB) to check the cams were set up right. Great guys
  20. Just got awesome prices off Exley tyre centre in Willetton on my new Federal 595RS - Talk to Shane, the guy is an absolute champ
  21. Personally I dont want to see they guy again, hear or speak to him. I feel a bit screwed after my experience there - if you know what I mean. Just chalking it up to a very expensive lesson learnt.
  22. Hmm, I thought I would give them a go, cos Lumpy isnt tuning any more, and so many people on here have had such great results I paid nearly $1000 for intune to fit cams (that I provided) in an SR and give me a tune (power fc), end result: lacked power (less power after fitting cams than with stockys), rich as hell, hunted like a pig and stalled alot cold, flat spots (and not to mention he fried my battery isolation switch) I was very sad. took car to another dyno, figures were over 20hp down from what in tune's dyno showed, got it retuned (not at intune) I got more power, no flat spots, no hunting and stalling, no pumping soot all over my garage in the morning - and it cost me ALOT less than what I paid at intune initially
  23. I had no penalty rates under the OLD system - bottom line at the moment, with a labour shortage, employers pay a premium to attract workers I just hope we dont end up with a slump and go down the same path the US did when Bill Clinton reformed workplace relations there - people working for $6 an hour, and expected to support a family. no good Jury is out at this stage - its interesting the Labour hasnt come out and said they would scrap the new laws if they were to win...
  24. wow.... 40 pages of whining - that has to be some sort of a record
