  1. not sure if this applies but it seems pretty good http://www.scribd.com/doc/16408415/How-to-GuideChanging-the-Timing-Belt-on-a-RB25DET
  2. fair enough, i also think there is more stuffing around with the AFM then to just get a map sensor with however many bar you want to run, like with me i'm going a heltec with a 2 bar map sensor later on this year and as i have already done pretty much everything usual, like FMIC, better air filter system, boost controller running at 10 PSI and 3" from turbo back, the ECU was to me the next logical step into gaining more power. also had people tell me that the AFM restricts a fair bit of power, hence why i opted for the heltec with the 2 bar map sensor, plus it comes with a EBC attached to it
  3. had a good read of this, and must say that the person who started this has done very well, however, i keep noticing that everyone wants to keep the AFM, why keep this on your car instead of getting the map sensor and removing the AFM?, i've been told it removes a huge restriction on the car, and as such produces more power, plus having to get a new AFM (Z32), cost a lot of money
  4. yes, understand what your saying but for a cheap upgrade they are ok, i would save up for a electronic boost controller, but i am saving up for a ECU which has a inbuilt boost controller
  5. been thinking a little lately, i have 2x 10" thermos i want to install into the skyrine, and i was wondering if this would be benificial or would it be better to just get like say a single 16" thermo
  6. it's looking like i might be coming along for the cruise, but no money for happy laps, sorry
  7. would love to join in, but i think mel might say no for the fuel reason
  8. depending on whats been done already, some really basic upgrades that i have done to my 33 are very simple ones, installed a boost tee and boost gauge, uped the boost to 9PSI (will be going to 10-12 in probably the next day or so), plus a CAI system, i did these upgrades only as the previous owner had already installed a 3"exhaust from turbo back and a FMIC (had a monsta brand, swapped it out with a saber one i had lying around) and from my understanding, these little upgrades can produce from my understanding about 20 RWKW (correct me if i'm wrong)
  9. those look nice there mate, been thinking about getting a new set of boots for the gear boot and hand break, but haven't been bothered as of yet, are they eBay special for like $20 odd plus like $5 for P/H?, if so, can you let me know how they go please
  10. well if the misses says yes, i might have a heltec in the beast by May also, might be looking into the Neo 25 if anyone can help
  11. so umm, when are we going to start the wednesday night get together again?
  12. Hi all, I did a little intro thread a while ago now, and thought a build thread would be in order. anyway, here we go. the name is Joe, and i own a 94 R33 GTS T, bought my skyline approximentely 6 months ago now, during a period when i wasn't able to drive, the car came with the following, FMIC, 3" turbo back exhaust, and 17" rims. since then i have done a few things, they are as follows: full stereo mongoose alarm system K&N Apollo CAI GFB boost tee boost gauge car is running 9 PSI at present. now as the title states, this build thread will take a very long time, as the "boss" doesn't share my passion for cars and upgrades, but i am hoping to change that soonish, as i don't like having my car stock please keep an eye on thread, and please be patient
  13. just wondering how things have gone here?
  14. on another note, a few items that i have done also since getting my baby, my old head unit died on me (managed to fry the sound board) so went and bought a new double din head unit, a kenwood one with the GPS built into it, sold my old subs and installed new JL audio 12"subs, bought a mongoose car alarm system which came with a turbo timer (so old turbo timer is out and not needed), installed a new gear nob as the old one was giving me the shlitz (old one was a cheap nasty allen key three way type one), changed the FMIC from the cheap and nasty monsta brand one that came with the car to a saber one that i bought a few years ago that was meant to go on another car
  15. well i haven't updated this for quite some time now, so i thought a small update was in order. well as the photo shows, had a little delama with the beast, she was making some really weird noises from the timing belt cover, so had her towed home from work. i then spent approximently 2-3 days fixing her up and servicing her, the noise that was being generated was very simple, a screw from the backing plate had come undone fully and was running around the cam pulley, pulled it up, replaced the bolt, made sure everything else was ok there, then noticed that the rocker covers where leaking a little, so this was fixed up at the same time, a little bonus from opening up the timing belt cover was that there was signs that the belt may need to be replaced soon. after a few more days later (had to wait for payday) i bought a few items required for a service, oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, i also bought a GFB boost tee and boost gauge as the stock solenoid was not working correctly before i bought it (unknown to me at the time) and the previous owner had done a very dodgy fix by running the vac hose from the actuator to the inlet on the turbo, so started doing the service, changed the air filter (ended up getting a K&N apollo CAI system) then went down to drop the oil (FYI a engine flush was used here before dropping oil) and noticed the sump was leaking quite a bit, so off came the sump, cleaned and resalasticed, however, while the sump was off, noticed that there was quite a bit of metal filings, and as i wasn't doing all the work on my own (had a mate who is a mechanic help out with everything mechanical so far) informed me that this engine has not been looked after for a while, and will most likely need a rebuild down the track soon, anyway, sump back on, fresh oil (penrite fully synthetic 10w70) oil filter installed, new fuel filter (fuel lines were shagged so new lines installed here [if anyone on the northside of brisbane wants to know were some nice cheapish fuel lines are, pm me and i'll let you know]) boost tee installed and boost gauge installed, beast is running and running on 9PSI.
  16. hey mate, just wondering about the forward facing planum, did it come with it or did you get that after?
  17. yeah i might look into the magnetic sump plug, and with those rims i would probably go 225/40/17 on the front and 235/45/17 on the rear, had another look on ebay and came across these ones http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/200670919165?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_1760wt_1002, reckon they would fit?, as for the drive it till she dies advise, i don't think that would be wise as it could mean a completely new engine instead of a rebuild as there could be a risk of blowing a piston through the block, as for the oil leak you got on your rocker cover, i had a leak there as well, but fixed that up last week, spent a fair bit of time and money this past week getting her running nicely, now looking at upping the boost to 10 maybe 12 PSI
  18. sounds like you had a nice little break there bodo, and thanks for the info, not really looking at particular rims, just wanting to know the off set and things like that but i was thinking something like the following http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/190622246547?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_1638wt_1002, just getting sick and tired with the rims that got put onto my car with the wrong offsets. on another topic, did a rather long service yesterday, changed oil, oil filter, fuel filter and air filter, then found the sump was leaking (FYI when doing the sump, advise using a engine crane), so fixed that up, then got the boost system fixed by installing a boost gauge and boost tee peace, got it running at 9 PSI at the moment. also found that the timing belt will need to be replaced some time soonish, plus while pulling off the sump, found some disturbing information, looking like the engine will be needing a rebuild, as it looks like the previous owner didn't really look after the engine to well as there is metal file-lings through out the oil, so now i will be looking around for a mechanic that will do a rebuild at a reasonable price (anyone know of some?).
  19. looking real good mate, looks like you have done a lot here
