  1. $1700USD isn't that steep mind you, for $2k AUD (which is approx what $1700USD is) we can't even get a single HKS GT2530.
  2. Just swap it all out and yes by rules they must destroy all the non-complying parts plus showing evidence. And no..DoTaRS do give a shit if a workshop gets caught.
  3. Why not just turn up and see what they says? or perhaps speak to one. If they're anal about it then yes they will not give it to you but if they're a bit dodgy, they should lol.
  4. Hobbs is pretty much the only choice..if you priced the other guys who's eligible to do it, Hobbs by far is the cheapest. Plus if you drive the car or even tow it, AQIS have argued foreign soil could be blown off your car while it's being transported or driven so they could technically give you a fine for that. Safest thing to do keeping these idiots happy is to send it down to Hobbs. As with the rims, I am fairly sure they will survive. At least my EVC, turbo timer, gauges and a good number of other gadgets survived. The only thing vanished is the head unit but that's pretty much expected. Even the stacker is still up the arse end. There were times I've had exhaust, suspension, bodykit sitting neatly up the back and it made the trip.. Clearing it out of Customs isn't as scary as it sound so long you've got all the paperwork that they wanted. Then again with a customs broker might save you a bit of hassle with those idiots at Link Rd. Lately they've been shafting people for minor thing. Hey sounds like it's time for me to do a FAQ on how to clear cars out
  5. Should've know that earlier..and get that fitted today while at the mechanics How much oil should that add to the total capacity?
  6. Slightly off topic but...I've got a kit off a RB25, will that work on a RB26?
  7. Will that fit? Worth it? It probably add another 200-300ml of oil to the overall capacity by the looks of it.
  8. Check the DIY section...there's a FAQ list and I think there's a guide to that in there.
  9. What might be better is to chuck the ECU thru diagnostic mode..might tell ya what's really playing up.
  10. ok..I've just read it again - if it's an insurance job go complain to the assessor that assessed your car's damaged. Throw some abuse at them too if you like and they'll probably be work for you to get it fixed up ASAP.
  11. Actually I was flying thru Pac h'way on the weekend...wasn't that bad
  12. You in NSW by any chance? Couple of ways to clean those cvnts up - MVRIC (I think it's MVRIA now..) http://www.mvria.nsw.gov.au/ have a cry there. The good old Dept of Fair Trading is always at your service (albeit slowly..) or possibly get a cleaner to fire them a cleaner's letter lol. If they're in NSW usually when MVRIC contacts them they have brown undies instantly.
  13. Well funny enough it haven't lost a single drop of oil in the last day or so...but it's gonna be checked out by a workshop on Wednesday then on the weekend just to combine the 2 workshops' findings then take it on from there.
  14. Was speaking to a guy that does this on a daily basis.. He said around $3-4k labour all up - what it cost a lot isn't slapping the thing together but pulling it out and putting it back in the engine bay that cost the moolah due to the complexity of things. He just slapped something along the line: * forgies * rods * N1 oil pump * N1 water pump * new gaskets/seals/bearings * new timing belt Plus quite a few bits I forgot (it was windy yesterday so I didn't pay a lot of attention..) all up just under $11k supplied, fitted and tuned.
  15. You've got a bubble..the tyre is no good to you anymore unfortunately. I had a similar experience - didn't check the tyre pressure, drove and then find it's flat then later a bubble appeared. Tough luck it says the tyre place. Aren't you suppose to walk around the car before you drive it anyway?
  16. Don't they just buy the seat belts or get them modified by Autoliv? That's what a RAW told me about Soarer's belts.
  17. mmmmkay..he's the brightest canyon outta the box lol.
  18. Just outta curiousity, how did you guys worked out he works at XXXXXXX? Might be interesting when a whole heap of SAU guys rocked up to XXXXXXXX together and "speak" to him......
  19. It's just got all these annoying problems - it's far from disastrous (what about that guy bought a car in and can't comply it? To me, that's a diaster..) The wheel alignment issue is sorted (bad alignment done over in Japan) and the start-up issue was a chipped ECU that no one seem to have picked up right from the word go.
  20. I think I've found one of the leaks up the front - it is the oil line from the block to the first turbo. The one up the back seems to be from underneath of the car possibly between the 'box and engine.
  21. 3% commission? Times that by 5-10 then that should be right
  22. Another problem just popped up - there's these two oil leaks I've found underneath the car. One of them is on the front end slightly behind all the pumps/belts etc and is a bitch to look into it. Another one is on the passenger's side towards the end and near all the exhaust pipings. What is/are the possible causes of the leaks? There's not a lot of oil lost but is sure as hell annoying to stain the driveway. Thanks people.
