  2. So it's been a while. I have the rb25det up and running in my 240z. I have already had it out for a track day I seriously didn't think there was going to be so much of a difference over the rb20 But the extra torque makes this thing a complete animal. There is still a lot of room for improvement but it's getting to where I want it Before I do any more power upgrades I will be adding coil overs and adjustable control arms. Any way here are some up to date pics.
  3. Ok so hardy spicer fitted the wrong yoke to the front of my tail shaft for my 240z rb25det swap Unfortunately I can't fit my fat head up in to my trans tunnel to count the teeth on my gearbox spline, so can some one tell me the actual spline count for an r33 skyline manual tail shaft. Thank Mick.
  4. I have been fitting an rb25 to my Datsun 260z dedicated track car. I am trying to nut out the wiring for the fuel pump. So far I have the whole Intire loom from the r33 from front to back fitter to my Datsun. Once I get it running then I will chop out what I don't need. The final pice to my puzzle is the fuel pump circuit. I know on the ecu the fuel pump rely wire is #18 (black/pink) And the fuel pump module is #@104. (Orange) Problem is the moduel it's self is missing. Will this stop the fuel pump relay working? Can I bypass it and if so, do I use the black/pink wire or the orange wire to trigger the relay?
  5. I need a car trailer to tow my race car so I need this gone. As you cam see it is a RMR30 skyline hatch. (The delorion of skylines) 109,000 on the clock. 3apeed auto with overdrive. (2400 rpm at 110 kmh) No rips, tares or cracks in the interior. Drives like new It has the JDM stove top tail lights, but the originals are included Paint is thin in spots from over polishing Thes would be an way car to bring back to pristine condition Slap some stockies on it and go for concorse. $3000 Ono
  6. I have decided that I am going to replace the rb20 with a rb25. I came across the first issue with the conversion. My custom engine mounts from the rb20 won't work because they fowl on a pipe which I not sure what is because my rb20 never had it. What is this pipe and is it important. It goes from the head and in to the block
  7. Well it has ce time to upgrade so the rb20 and gear box from my Datsun is up for grabs It will come with computer and possibly the loom depending on what I need for my upgrade The gear box still shifts nice however it has a bit of a rattle There is a spare rb20 to go with the deal. The only reason u removed the spare engine is because due to my own mechanical fult the timing belt skipped a few teeth and bent a valve, so the bottom end is probably still good. Not included. Inter cooler and piping Dump pipe Monts to suit zed Sump to suit zed (spare motor has a standard sump) $1200 firm. Here are some photos and videos of it in action.
  8. I took my car to collingrove hill climbs a few weeks ago I think I have a new passion. My first run was around 44 seconds. I managed to get down to a 41 second pass on cheep Chinese street tires Her is a video of my last run. It was only a 43 second pass because I fell of the track Half way up. Check it out.
  9. Yeh we didn't get the 2 seater zx but there are a few floating around that have been imported in to the country.
  10. Check out www.auszcar.com. Forum. They will give you heaps of info
  11. The stock rear end of a 240z will handle more power than an rb20det can produce. This chassis comes with either a r180. Or a r200 long nose diff very similar to the r32/33/34 skyline. I ran the stick diff for a while but it was only a open 1 wheeler. I now run a dr30 skyline r200lsd which is a direct bolt in. As far as people saying the rb20det is to small, dont forget this car only ways 1000kgI am still on stock turbo ecu and injectors and this thing has far mor power than I could ever use on public roads. I just love the way it revs so smooth and it sounds awesome. I will be upgrading to nistune, bigger turbo and injectors in the future but when I do it will see more time on the track than the road I have enterd a hill climb event I. September so I will add some in cab YouTube fottage from my run's.
  12. No worries. I will just warm it right up before I drive it until I can get an aftermarket ecu. I want to upgrade the turbo and injectors at the same time to bump it up to just over 200rwkw. Any way here's a few more pics
  13. It is running a Bosch 044 fuel pump. I am not sure if that would make a difference with the standard regulator. I will be getting a nistune ecu as soon as I can afford it.
  14. I forgot to mention that it is running an rb20det
  15. Ok the car has been on the road for 6 months now and I must say, it is a barrel of laughs to drive. To much throttle can have you facing the wrong way rather fast. One problem I have is that when its cold it is rather sluggish and surge's quite a bit Once it has warmed up it is runs faultlessly and goes like a rocket. Can some one point me in the right direction as what to try first. I really don't want to have to chases tail on this one if I don't have to. I will be taking it for a run at collingrive hill climbs this weekend so I can see how it really performs. It should be a good day.
  16. Hey guys. Some may know I have a rb20det fitted to my Datsun 240z. My next question is. I am now fitting up a non OEM boost gauge. Because I don't have a factory boost gauge, do I need this box or can I ditch it. I am trying to tidy up some wiring.
  17. Thanks guys that's all I need to know Mick
  18. I have the rb20det installed and running in my Datsun 240z. My next step is to wire up the thermo fan. My question is. Can one of the temp sensors on the thermostat housing be used to control the thermo fan? Mick
