Weirdly I got in the car this afternoon, key in the ignition, door open so of course it beeps, but then shut the door and it didn't beep. I started the car up, there was no warning light on the dash, then after about 15 seconds it came on again. Worn relay maybe? Also discovered my interior light doesn't work, even though there is a globe in it that is not burnt out. Annoying, but have to remember one thing at a time.

My car has started to leave the door warning light on the dash on, and also the boot light is not turning off after the boot is closed. I am not sure how long the boot light has been happening, but the door light has only started happening in the last few days. Does anyone have any ideas for what I should check? I'm hoping it's something as simple as a sensor for the door, but of course I fear some crazy electrical gremlin.

I wasn't able to come along, but was at Panthers getting coffee from the Maccas about the meeting time, didn't see any cars anyone have some pics from the cruise they would like to post up?

Yesterday in Penrith at the Supercheap Auto carpark, A blue 33 with a P Plate, and then grey 32 gtst as I was leaving.

Ok it's fixed now. When I had the intercooler pipe off to try and source a new one while the car was in my mates backyard I stuffed it with papertowel to stop any foreign bodies going in there. It became the foreign body (missed a bit) and a big clump was stopping the butterfly from closing. Have to take it for a gentle spin after dinner to check all is fine, but seems to be with inital test. Embarrased a litte, but live and learn.

I went and got my car registered today, yay it's back on the road. However on the way home from the Rego inspection the car started to idle really high, like clutch in to change gears or stop, revving at 3100rpm. I pulled over and a quick resaerch on my phone suggested a vacuum leak. Given that I cut the Atmospheric BOV off my intercooler pipe on the weekend and then put the pipe back in and one of the clamps was a bit dodgy, I thought this would be the problem, so I went out after I got home and picked up a new set of clamps for this section of the piping. After putting them all in the car was still revving at 2000rpm when I started it up. I put my foot on the throttle to see what would happen, and the pedal doesn't really feel like it moved smoothly, and looking under the bonnet, when I pressed the accelerator cable assembly closed the car went back down to about 900rpm and sounded normal. Then i put my foot on the pedal again, it felt stuck, then that it popped out and revved high again, staying high. The car was off the road for about 6 weeks while I fixed it up and sprayed it, could this assembly just be stiff and need servicing? Has anyone come across this before?

What a great day! Saw some cars that just made me drool. Bob your 32 GTR is immaculate, just an amazing looking machine. I left early to go and work on my car despite the beating sun, now it's ready to take for rego (I think), shame I couldn't have been one weekend earlier! Was so good, and some great Skylines, as well my mate's Legnum, was cool to see a few of them out in force as well, not to mention the RX-7 with a turbo the size of a house!

I have no doubt that it is insane and complicated when it shouldn't be, that's why I came here instead of straight to the RTA. I was at my mates' working on some panels today and I had a look at the compliance plate, and it was complied and registered the first time in 08/02 so I feel a bit better about it since those dates match up.

Looks like I'll just be sure and ask them when I go down for rego.

I guess VINs Engine Numbers, plates matching up is what they really care about, thanks guys.

I didn't notice at the time, but have noticed now that the rego papers for the R32 that I bought recently has 2002 on it for the year, whilst I know that it is a 1992. I am hopefully getting it reregistered very soon, but am wondering what is the possible ramifications of this error on my rego papers? None? Could it mean something crazy like voiding my green slip due to the wrong information? Will it be a beauracratic nightmare getting the RTA to look into it? Anyone one who has experienced something like this, advice on what to do about it very welcome. Thanks.
