  1. Nice work, my only comment would be a bigger surge tank (assuming you are running the return line back to the surge tank) as you'll find you may strike fuel heating issues in summer (when fuel tank is under half full), alternatively you can run a fuel cooler on the return line which will help.

  6. Wholly heck Batman - 5 passes..............
  7. Yeah that's a fair call - the multiplate I was referring to was a NPC unit, not the junk ones. Likewise there seems to be a lot of misinformation about the capabilities of single plates on this forum & from people who sell them hence all I say is buyer beware, they're not the holy grail in clutch options if you got decent power IMHO (if they were I'd still be happily using one ). People don't appreciate how cheap it is to have a NPC twin plate rebuilt as opposed to a single full-monty one which is a consideration if you are keeping your car long term + giving it regular punishment.
  8. Yes I had 2 of em fail on me "n00b" ...... 2rismo - well I stand corrected, still it would be interesting to see the reliability of a single plate at these power levels compared to multiplates - particularly in a AWD application.
  9. I went solely on Jim's advice, he reckoned the twin plates were a waste of $$ as his super-single plate would be more than ample...........so "in all honesty" I expected the clutch to work, but given you're all seeing and all knowing you obviously knew what I discussed with Jim PS my mph at the strip when the clutches actually failed indicated the engine was well under 600HP (120-122mph).
  10. Single plate holding 1000HP......like to see that! :laughing-smiley-014:
  11. Well..... I specifically asked for a clutch that could handle 600HP with odd track days & drag-strip work (+ a specific reference to DirtGarage's clutch) .....unfortunately in my case, it was obviously not a 600HP rated unit. Statis - The NPC clutch is very easy to drive around town, never had a problem in that regard but then again so was the JB single plate. Doug from NPC is a good bloke, he'll look after you.
  12. My 2 x JB carbonic/full monty clutches never slipped at 300rwkw but it was a different story when I upped the power to 385rwkw & dumped it at 7000rpm with slicks...dead clutch both times (disclaimer: my clutches were not the same as Dirtgarage runs). I ended-up fitting a NPC twin plate, it was $1800 compared to JB's $750 but it's done 3 times the work and has not required a rebuild + has a softer engagement (JB one felt like a sledgehammer hitting the block each time). Rebuilds are only $250 vs $750. In my case I wish I had fitted the NPC unit in the first instance as I'd be $1500 + labour in front.
  13. Chasing a 4.3 ratio R32 GTS4 crown wheel and pinion, will also consider a complete diff pending price. Brisbane. Pm. Cheers
  14. Looks like you're dead right there - won't be using them again. How not to get repeat business => don't reply to emails, give bullsh*t shipment dates.
  15. Problem sorted - looks like I posted too soon!
  16. Does anyone have a current email address for Nengun? Placed an order + direct deposit on Sunday, status still "awaiting payment" and no replies to emails.........
  17. Have mine tuned on v power racing and ran boost 98 thru it when I couldn't get the v power - to be honest you'd need a retune on Boost 98 to make a direct comparison but from running it in mine I found the vpower allowed 4psi more boost than the 98.
  18. Seems to be a lot of mis-information about the weight savings from removing sound deadener - I removed all of mine from an R32 GTST 4 door, weighed the lot on a very accurate set of scales & came out with an all-up weight saving of 10kgs - yes only 10kgs! Definitely not worth the pain or effort given you have to basically strip the whole interior, centre consol etc. Other accurate weights are air conditioning compressor, lines and condensor = 15kg, swapping stock bonnet with GTR aluminium one = 10.76kg saving.
  19. 1250klms on highway or 850klms around town from 70 litres of diesel in my VW.
