  4. Got one of these as well & it's been bulletproof - highly recommended!! Don't waste your $$ on a single plate regardless of brand.
  5. Even using the above it didn't match Shell 100 in my car, safely ran more ignition timing + another 4psi with Shell 100. I actually spoke to one of the techs at Nulon and he said 98 ron + prostrength will make a 98.9 ron mix (from memory) - the increase wasn't huge. Shell 100 is a much better brew......if they have it in stock.
  6. Ok cheers - I have an option to buy an enlarged custom baffled sump + windage tray built for a VL turbo (ex improved production car) for cheap$$ which is why I asked the question, it's definitely not a stock RB30 sump - but I don;t want to buy it if it is going to give me problems with an RB26DETT.
  7. And the ones that do stock it have supply problems (in Brisbane anyway). My local was out of the stuff for 6 weeks and that's in metro Brissy as well. Regretted getting my car tuned on the stuff, should have stuck to BP ulitmate.
  8. Hi All, Does anyone know if a VL Turbo sump is a straight fit onto a RB26DETT. The engine is currently fitted to R32GTST (RWD) and is currently fitted with an RB25DET sump. Thanks in advance.
  9. Guys, I have an RB26DETT in a R32 GTST running RWD - it's currently fitted with a RB25DET sump. Due to oil surge at the track I'm replacing the sump with an aftermarket baffled one and can get a modded RB30DET one cheap, would this fit?? PS Tried search but nothing. Thanks
  10. As long as you have a mod plate from an engineer it is legal to have a swirl pot mounted in the boot however most engineers won;t approve a mod plate if you have fuel lines running in the boot (hence my custom surge tank). Battery is legal as well so long as it is securely mounted and vents externally (not inside the boot) - you do not need a mod plate for a battery mounted in your boot.
  11. No pics sorry - probably best speaking to Robin as he mounted mine & can explain exactly how the pumps etc were mounted (under car).
  12. I have a custom surge tank that has all of its fittings at the bottom which avoids having any fuel lines in the boot, all you see is a boot mounted surge tank and that's it - it's been mod plated and is legal (in Qld). Speak to Richard at A.R.E. or Robin at Perfourmance Motorsports, they both do them (go to Richard if you want an aluminium one). Running lines in your boot = bad fuel smell in cabin.
  13. Excellent condition, includes hinges - no bog, straight, paint excellent. $250 Brisbane. Prefer local buyers. Pm if interested.
  14. Yes this is correct - use the return line as the pressure is much less. You'll be surprized how effective this is, I run a small Perma-cool power steer cooler on my return line (at the front) and the surge tank is way cooler, no more fuel heating issues for me.
  15. At least 3.7ltr - personally I'd go 5 ltr. If you have the return line going back to the surge tank you will get fuel heating problems if you're running a small surge tank if you are doing any extended sort of driving. I think Theo's is about the 5ltr mark (it's big).
  16. Splitfires won't help if it's fouling all 6 plugs. I;'d check your AFR at idle/light throttle to see if it's running rich - this will foul plugs quickly. 7's s/be ok on the street if you give it some full throttle a couple of times per week to clean off the plugs. I found copper 7's gave me a lumpy idle/slight fouling wheras platinum 7's ran smoother & didn't foul as much (but blew out under high psi unlike the coppers).
  17. Geez Daveo, you should work in Beatty's PR department (if you don't already)!! If you seriously think this problem happened overnight you're misinformed. I know for a fact that this was forseen BEFORE Goss got elected.....why.....because a close "friend" of mine worked in a senior position in the Dept. of Water Resources. It was reported to Goss that Bris. had insufficient water infrastructure that did not allow for population growth or periods of low rainfall yet Goss's decision (based on Rudd's advice) was that we do not need any more dams - he got elected on playing the green card. Based on a conversation I had with an engineer that designed most of Qld dams, he said if we had the Wolfdene dam we would not be in the poo we are in at present - yes we have to make decisions about where we build our dams, but at the end of the day do you want to hug trees or do you prefer to have water?? Part of any compentant government's agenda is forward planning, not acting retrospectively to every problem as and when they arise like we are experiencing now. Yes, I seriously put 100% of the blame on them ("them" being the Goss govt. + whoever voted for Goss). You wait to see how much all this new infrastrucure will add to your water rates............. PS I am not biased to any policital party - this is one of those things that just could have been so easily avoided!!
  18. I was referring to the ones that voted for Goss.
  19. Chasing a std undamaged aluminium 32 GTR bonnet + latch - preferably gun metal grey. PM - Brisbane.
  20. To right you are - serves all those bastards right!
  21. Make that 100% to blame (former Goss government that is) - apparently Kevin Rudd (former advisor to Wayne Goss) advised him against building the Wolfdene dam even after they were told by the Dept of Water Resources they had insufficient dams........now the idiot wants to be PM!??
  22. Russco

    Bonnet

    GOT ONE THANKS.
  23. Yes even more reason not to go RA1's for the track - have to buff the things as their tread squirms badly (waste of rubber/$$ if ever I've seen it) + still have the soft sidewall issue.
