  11. like i said befor im not looking for anything other then to state what i was told by 4 differnt workshops, all said the tune caused the piston to crack, im not a mechanic but if the shoe fits, what can i say.

Nobody mentioned anything to me about a NOS rpm limit switch, or i would have put it in on the day,, and as for the nos bottle warmer I already had a thermstatically controlled bottle warmer befor i came to the shop and after i got there and the bottle was installed by your mechanics, the so called thermostat mysteriously broke, anyways i checked the bottle pressure everytime i turned it on and warmed it up, it never went over 850psi. there was no 30percent variation in bottle pressure as i kept it under strick control.. well i drove the car on the day to day tune you did for me and like i said it was fine, but i had not driven the car on the race tune casue i didint have a chance to race yet. firstly just to clarify i never ever do a burn out on the limiter, I strickly always hold it about 6-7k, as for the the second pass and not putting the awd switch back on, i accept resonsability for that in forgetting but popping the clutch and changing through first and second gear then backing off, isnt likely to crack a piston i dont think. Everyone on this site knows im trying to sell my car, and everyone knows i was racing on the day, running a great pass would have been excellent, and palming it off to some poor unexpecting person wouldnt have made a differnce casue everyone knows who i am and where im from, Ive always mentioned the car was stock and never stated anything else, so as far as that goes unsuspecting wouldnt be the word i would use in this case. as for bagging the shit out of some of the other shops that ive dealt with in the past, I recall on the day i said that ive been to C and V befor and they used the power fc hand controller to tune my car and i wanted to try someone that used the datalogic to try and see if i can get a better tune, unfortunatly casue my power fc wasnt compatible with your software we procceded to tune with hand controler, i think thats where you have made your mistake in thinking i was bagging them out. If you are interested in seeing the piston that cracked its not a problem i can ship that over to you with no problems what so ever so you canhave a look yourself. also to be honest with you jim, i dont care what people write on the forums, im just stating what happend to me, and thats it, i dont want or need any money, nor am i asking for anything from you, I belive SAU forum gives people the right to say what they feel and also mention performance workshops they have visited and dealt with, being good or bad. so if this thread gets closed or deleted ill know that SAU is bias towards people and members can only write /talk about what suits the admins,
  13. good point bob, but just to add on that my car has been tuned for race many times by Cand V and they ever pushed it to 100percent, always was on about 85 percent, even with A standard GTR fuel pump the car managed a 10.8 sec pass, now i got the 044 in and paid them 300 bucks to run a 4 meter length cable to the battery so it can have constant power i thought too myself, do you think these guys might be a little bit of a rip off. but hey its entierly my fault for taking it there and not sticking to where i know i was safe.

  15. I wouldnt even waste my time arguing the point, what do you think they would say after i tell them its their fault i have to rebuild my engine costing in excess of 5 grand, they gonna laugh and hang up. So im just putting up a notice for people to know that Croydon are a rip offfff
  16. just to give some insight into what casue JETT to fail at the last WSID meet, after many weekes of waiting the engine is out and motor was stripped, not long after the bottom end was apart we found NO#5 piston cracked all the way down the side, and after taking the piston to many workshops all experts have decided and confirmed that the piston only cracked due to the TUNE being very very lean and detonation caused the piston to crack, after mentioning who had tuned the car last ( CROYDON RACING ) all but one person started laughing at me asking me why i was so dumn to take my car to them for tuning, not only did all but 1 tell me they are a waste of money, but I was also told by all 4 mechanics at 5 differnt places that they have NO or little idea how to tune a gtr power. SO my conclusion is if your going to tune your car and have any doubts about croydon, avoid them at all costs, I have personally been and watched c and v tune my gtr on the dyo, and know that their tune is much safer and still ran the same power figures. AS for croydons $1600 tune, i say good luck to thoise stupid enough like me to take it there in the first place. Good luck...
  17. you guys got it all wrong, diesel fuel smell is the same as unleaded, its the way the diesel engines burn the fuel that smells, but with new direct injection technology the smell of diesel cars has dissipated my more the 80percent, and as for the living standads being beter in europe and the income is higher, i think you got it all wrong jeetee, the average australian income is higher then the average europe income, people living on 1000euro salarys, yes 1000 euros a month, still have to buy petrol like everyone else at the same price, and everything else is the equivilant like here. so who do you think is beter off, we here with out average 3000-4000 saleries or them over there with high petrol and living expences with low monthly incomes...
  18. if your gonna buy or drive a turbo car you have to know its not cheap., people dont realise that petrol is still very cheap compared to europe where i was paying over a euro per lire which was about 2 bucks a year ago, when the prices here come to about 2 dollars a litre youll see what expensive is, but so you all know it will get to that price very soon
  19. its the only way to do it, why rebuild now when it still has potential to run low 10s without touching anything.
