  1. Sweet as, so how many of you guys live on the coast? I see a few R33's around, an R32 now and again. Head down to terrigal on the odd occasion, but i don't know many peeps out there so usually just cruise on by unless im with mates.
  2. Is the GTR cooler front or stock mount? cheers.
  3. Simple thing is, a GT-R isn't a GT-R unless it's a Skyline GT-R. Saying that, a Z isn't a Z unless it's a fairlady so there goes that theory (in Oz anyway).
  4. Think that is the FPV Typhoon, not the XR6-t, and it costs more too. Not 100% though.
  5. Yea, I always thought I was trippin'. Now I know i'm not crazy. Still not gonna eat Smith's though.
  6. Thanks guys, will have to look into these. Might give TM a call next week.
  7. That second one with the falcon has got to be a fatal
  8. Best part of what you said is I actually live on the central coast jsut work in newy, so TM Autosports is closer anyway. Thanks.
  9. Hi guys, was looking for some novacastrians with R33 skylines that know of a good place up here to get a service done?? Its up to 80,000km's and I just want to make sure everything is running well, and get the usual done. Then after that I will probably do the lube changed myself, but take it to get checked over every 10,000. Any help would be great, thanks.
  10. What type of car?? I heard this is a pretty common problem with R33's (mine plays up occaisionally). It is usually a dry solder joint, so if oyur experienced with a soldering iron, u could probably have a go at it yourself, if not get a mate or a workshop to have a look at it, should be too big a job.
  11. They look sweet (black ones). Wouldnt mind a set of them myself... bit pricey though >$3000 for a set.
  12. That was a bit harsh, he has already said he's a member of this site, and just wanted some of out opinions... shouldn't cut him down for this as most true car enthusiasts appreciate all types of cars, and he just thought maybe the educated people of this forum could offer some advice... on the other hand...
  13. If you're aiming that comment anywhere near me, i will comment by saying the reason i consider myself a relatively safe driver is because i am scared of the car and that fear keeps me within my limits. Sure occaisionally i may cross these limits, not often and luckily i have gotten through these occaisions and learnt. Anyway, I'm not going to defend myself and more than this. Everyone is human, but the smart ones learn from their mistakes, the dumb ones eventually run out of luck. Evolution if you will.
  14. Question: Do commadores and falcon's have CV joints? I know this is a dumb question, but i want to be sure of this FWD's have CV joints because they steer with the drive wheels??? I've never really understood the CV joint.
  15. Hmm, would also like to deposit my 2c and show my dismay of stereotyping young drivers in skylines. Im 20, own my OWN R33 GTS-25t and find I drive this thing with much more sense and sensability than any of my previous cars simply because "I have nothing to prove". If need be, I give it a squirt when I'm by myself on a nice road, or just feel like unwinding becaue it is not convenient to book a session at the track after a days work when i'm in need of a little r&r. Driving for me is like meditation, all i think about when i'm driving is the road and other cars. All tohughts of work, women and worries are left behind me and until i get out of my car, i'm free hehehe. (sounds a like 2fast 2furious doesnt it). But i'm sure many can attest to this, but i drive my car 95% of the time safer than anybody else on the road. BTW i've only had my car a month and a bit, but I haven't come across anyone willing to race me anyway
  16. RS13 K's weigh 1170kg and have 200hp 200lbft, this equates to 151kw and 274Nm, not the 164kw stated. This is also using japanese 101ron fuel. using 98 ron its down to around 145kw stock. Sure it is well known that the SR responds better to modifications, but when the R33 GTS-t has 170-180kW standard on 98 ron, and only weighs ~150kg heavier, these two cars are very close in stock form. RS13 Silvia K's power/weight=7.767kg/Kw R33 GTS-t power/weight=7.444kg/Kw This debate is pointless, silvia guys will say silvia, skyline boys will say skyline and a few unbias opinions in between. A skyline is a classic sports saloon, a silvia is a disposable sports car. Depends what you are looking for.
  17. Hi guys, I have a wierd issue here... I've noticed that I am getting specs of oil on my front grill and up the front half of my bonnet. I do a lot of freeway driving so it might be from other cars, but im not convinced. I had a white car prior and never noticed it, but how would oil from my engine make it onto my own front grill etc??? Can anyone give me some pointers what to look for in the engine bay to make sure there is nothing wrong with my engine. I haven't had a chance to pop the bonnet yet as i am at work, but will give it clsoer inspection when i get home. Cheers All.
  18. Interesting... I had a ticking noise., but it happened all the time... I found it out to be the electric window switch was playing up, when i put my window down, the switch would stay partly on, and it would tick (ie a solenoid). I've figured out aslong as i make sure the switch is off after i put my window down its fine... Probably not wat ur problem is, but thought it was worth a mention.
  19. No chip in that. Plus there are no connectors for the chip. If you look at most keys with a chip in them, they have two connectors which somehow line up on the ignition barrell and the car won't start unless the contact is made to verify the key (or something like that)... Should'nt have any troubles with the NISMO key. BTW, how much did it cost you, and where did you get it from?? Thanks.
  20. I have a life, try to go out at least once a weekend, hang with my mates etc... I would hate to be tied down by my car. I'm only 20 and as far as I see living at home is fine as I get along with my parents and they actually want me here. If that should change moving out would be a higher priority than owning a skyline. I should have enough money to do that aswell though, and still save/go out so it's all good. But the n again im not in IT either
  21. I work as a trainee accountant, doing uni part/full time, work full time. I took out a $12k loan as I thought i was going to buy a silvia, came back from sydney with an R33... lucky i had $6k savd up plus some inheritance money. Apart from initial lay out, insurance running costs etc are roughly the same and the car has more street cred than a sil so i am happy. Been about a month and i'm almost payed off my credit hard from insurance, rta transfer etc. After than it's smooth sailing til i want to move out of home.
  22. A cool, thanks man. maybe HR is series 2
  23. i know ECR33 is series one GTS-t and BNR33 is series 2... not sure bout much else... I might even be wrong about that. RB25DET is a race bred 2.5L Double overhead cam with Electronic fuel injection and a Turbo charger... assuming the HR33 is RB20E, it is a race bred 2.0L Fuel injected engine.
  24. You have to think that the R34 was the least produced model, only manufactured for 3 years or so, so there aren't as many of them as R33's. They will hold there value pretty well atleast over the next 3-4 years, or until they change the import regs again.
