  1. I agree with you on this, speaking on fake TAG's... i may own one but it is very good quality. It's like knock-off replica rims, people that use for instance, XXR's instead of WORKS cop shit for being "cheap". But with exhausts i do believe a massive amount of people use replica's because the build quality is very much the same as the genuine builds.at a fraction of the cost. Exhaust is probably the only modification i'd personally use a knock-off brand, it's like a post i wrote in a different topic about suspension i will NEVER use anything i've never heard of. I will only use well known products that offer warranty etc i don't mind paying the extra $$ for peace of mind! Also i am guessing that link is the exhaust compilation of g35driver.com (it's blocked on my work computer) that is a great source but bare in mind the exhaust is going to sound much much different in person. It's like the MD Shockwave TDX V2 is the sexiest sounding exhaust on the VQ engines but on a sound clip you don't get that same feeling as you do in person.
  2. Correct, and obviosly you have to make sure the other end of the ballast is connected to something lol. You have to be careful with D2R and D2S they use different bulbs.
  3. I didn't mention i HAVE the premium version with BOSE audio. Thanks a lot for the help, i have spoken to a few mates about what they think and it seems to be Pioneer winning the race at the moment but i do like the sound of the head unit i mentioned in my OP. I'm not one of those P platers that drive around with the doors and windows shaking with bass. I listen to a lot of hard bass electro and hardstyle so i really do want quality speakers that aren't going to shit themselves with a bit of bass. I am a big fan of the OEM BOSE unit, the only problem is that my door speakers are f*cked so it sounds horrible. I would rather replace the whole setup than spend $300 on just door speakers.
  4. So you have HID low beams and the top lights are Halogen Does it look a little something like this? If the wires are cut and not connected to anything, someone has been lazy and left the HID ballast in there. It might not be in use, but if you get the appropriate bulbs to suit HID bulbs and the wiring you need you can try hook it up but do a bit of research first. G35driver.com is a great forum with loads of info on pretty much anything and everything to do with these cars, give it a shot.
  5. Haha bit longer than that
  6. Not a problem champ happy to help, still learning a lot about these cars myself!
  7. Both of you are correct, that's how i know i've got halogens they come on instant and are yellowy colour.
  8. Yeah i know, i messaged chris a little while ago with no reply he must be busy. That LCD screen has bluetooth- • Bluetooth/iPod/Apps/SD Card/USB • Bluetooth: Built-In (HFP/A2DP/AVRCP/SSP)
  9. True! you just have to remove the cover where the guard is and you should be able to see it with a good amount of light.
  10. I should hate stated xenon halogen aha apologies. Go up to your headlight cover, and look at the bottom you will see little engravings it should say D2R. If you aren't sure, remove your front bumper and look for a ballast (a box with wires connected to it leading to the headlights) and read what is written on that. If you have a ballast, you have HID's and i believe if there is no ballast you have Xenon Halogens. It's a little confusing. My right headlight has blown too, i am planning on buying aftermarket lights but i need to take my bumper off and look for the ballast to see what will work with my car. Goodluck!
  11. Hahaha made me laugh
  12. I've been doing a bit of research about sound and i have come to the conclusion that sound is going to be my next upgrade - I have got pricing for the JDM double din dash at around $350-400 delivered. I'm looking at putting in a pioneer 7'' LCD touch screen - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/PIONEER-AVH-P4400BH-7-Double-Din-Touch-Screen-DVD-Reciever-Car-Radio-2012-/120978512046?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c2ae198ae But my main question is what door speakers + sub(s) would be suited for this head unit and AMP? I don't know a lot about sound so this would all have to be professionally fitted but i don't really want to take my car to the local Autobarn.. My drivers side door speaker has stopped working and the passenger door speaker is crappy too and i really miss listening to music so i want to get this sorted in the next 2 months - I have a budget of around $2,000 excluding the JDM dash. Not the most educated topic as i don't know a lot about this subject so please only constructive criticism would be appreciated. I am merely looking for some ideas from fellow V35 owners that have done this swap and obviously what has really great sound! Thanks.
  13. Also @Dan very good explanation and easy to understand diagram.
  14. If you're lowered too you might consider getting a rear camber kit to level out your tyres to prevent inner tyre wear. Also consider using spacers if you can't find the perfect rims, even though i have been told they're illegal.
  15. As if, it would be impossible for me to come aha. I literally just ate chocolate cake..
  16. Did you read my post on the previous page about me not coming?
  17. Not sure what colour, my mate was at the drags on saturday and said he saw a hiace van with a 2JZ run 9 something seconds. Might have been exaggerating but i'll ask him what colour it is
  18. I don't appreciate you spamming tony..
  19. Has anyone heard about the hiace bus with 2JZ strapped to it? heard it's a weapon and runs 9 seconds haha
  20. @Tony- all hope of me making it down has gone to shit, my boss is going into hospital on the 25th september for a week to get a hernia out and i've got the 12th and 13th of october off for my birthday present from the missus (secret) so i can't ask for any more time off. Next time maybe!
  21. I'm a little lost myself, but i believe test pipes are a straight pipe that delete the resonaters making it much much louder. Someone that 100% knows the answer to this please correct me. People buy them because they give the SAME sound at HALF the price made out of the SAME materials or very similar materials. Do some research before you assume they are "shit parts" people run HKS replica exhausts for years with no problems at all.
  22. I know a guy in the states that has a HKS rep with Magnaflow X-Pipe + Test Pipes and it sounds crazy. Not too loud but very intimidating!
  23. Big question, how much did you sell it for?!
  24. Hopefully in the next 1-2 years the V36's have dropped a little bit in price and you can still buy a 2011 with very low km's at a good price, might possibly be my next car. Love the features and power/looks
  25. Most people i know that have installed catbacks don't get a tune, but i'm not 100% if it will do much
