Nice engine (obviously expensive parts and numerous computers doing stuff) but at the end of the day its pretty heavy because of size, sunroof, interior luxuries etc. So people are keen on the ST-S instead of the SSS. which doesnt come with leather, sunroof etc. and weighs 100kgs less. MR16DDT. Non-production racing cars have managed to squeeze 300hp out of them. Direct injected, 9.5:1 comp, rear beam suspension is back though

Genesis motors are for RWD only. As far as I know Tomei made 2.2lt kits for GTiR engines, but also made aftermarket internals for 2.0lt too. So could be just filled with Tomei gear, or be a 2.2. Either way, a lot of expensive gear. Good luck with sale.

farkin LOL. wouldnt be far from the truth. It was national towing. Their policy states they cant tow the vehicle until it has been identified and rang through by an officer. My vehicle had a ticket on it when it was on the flatbed, and I rocked up at 4:50 or something. You just gotta cop it sweet. I've parked on Grey st before, but on the other side of the road where its not a clearway. But the thing that probably made me not consider it was the fact I was parking behind a few other cars. One of which got towed with mine.

Geez. thats harsh. I was very calm because I knew what kind of calibre people he would deal with. the yard had like 3 people complaining about abuse and "policies" and shit. I just wanted to save time and was in-out in a flash. $345 for collecting car, Jonno reminded me about the parking fine on my windscreen :| another $141. Lesson learnt.

At that particular track day, I was trying to keep it in the torque curve, so shifting at 6krpm. I did possibly over-rev it on one lap when I was focused on traffic, probably when the springs went. The head was pretty noisy before the track day, was recommended to get the cam shims replaced so the cams may have been stuffed before the track day. But at the end of the day, starvation may have just tipped the whole package over the edge. Thoughts on tackling oil issues are: Custom baffled sump Accusump Proper monitoring of oil pressure Better oil pump and breather configuration. Will tackle at least the last two. The oil cooler setup should make accusump a pretty easy install, will see how much cash is leftover once the engine is done.
