  1. Yep, figure out what it is you want before just dedicating a figure of money to a project. serious: find a car that is special to you and that you will love. Modify it over a period of time. Be able to see and feel the differences every bit has made. You take something off the road and just throw money at it, you never really know what you're going to wind up with (unless racecar or you've done the build before). Doing bolt-ons over a period of 12 months or more, you will see $25k go. People spend that kind of money on cars they never intended to modify in the first place. It is always more complicated that just "wheels and suspension". ALWAYS>WDIO{AHW{FGEOPIWDFNG
  2. It's been months since I went to garage cafe. Sometimes I wake up sweaty in the middle of the night calling out for satay chicken. Since they're only open Wednesday night's now it will probably be super-packed. But need to go before they close for good
  3. Spoke to an uncle of mine last weekend about it, he's a chem eng in petroleum. Was like "pfft will take years for exploration like that to be worth anything". He seems to think the Shit they have to do to make shale work is pretty ridiculous and sometimes dodgy.
  4. generally one month before. so maybe give it a week or 2.
  5. new album gon b gud
  6. Lincoln likes theatre
  7. I have looked quite the fool. An april fool as it were.
  8. Awww ShitHoneymoon period is over
  9. telstra so expensive though. Sunday is free data on telstra... wonder what I should download via work phone...
  10. I dun geddit. But also imagine what that 88 address would have sold for...
  11. well with GTR's its not a matter of if, but when.
  12. wow that looks intense in a resort kind of way... nah small lodge on Lake Ohau.
  13. Queenstown was nice, lots to do but I enjoyed heaps of other stuff on the island. Even just the drive from Queenstown to Milford sound was good. Stayed at a resort/backpackers place between queens town and Christchurch, had a spa overlooking the glacier lake and mountains, private but also adults of all ages kicking back. Will go again some day.
  14. Yeah.Pleasant place to retire. Wouldn't live there. Uncle had a proper built WRX STI, spent a fortune on it... Had to drive 200kms from his house to get 98 fuel for it. Good times NZ have really good pies too. Mutton, venison. Mmmmmm
  15. you'd think there would be an uproar on social media about the government wanting to change how HELP/HECS is paid off, but there isnt. and no one can say shit because its reasonable and legitimate. I blame KRudd. he wanted 40% of the population to have a degree. and it comes at a cost. not everyone can or will be paid over $50k a year full-time. Family member in QLD is a draftsman and has been for over 8 years with only work experience, doesnt have a degree (currently working towards some TAFE thing) yet somehow has become very reputable and has successfully applied for jobs that require a degree. I dont see how that could happen in this age. He must have contacts. His resume would only find the bin if he applied like everyone else, surely.
  16. got random drug tested on stud rd earlier in the year, they pull in 5-8 cars, everyone sits there for 5-10mins waiting for results... 2 million cars pass by. Luck of the draw really.
  17. I think you've just been stuck in skyline-mode with rose coloured glasses. personally i dont find skylines are that special either. Evo's are fairly special (in a not-cool way) but plenty more interesting things to drive around. Drive one for a bit, but keep in mind everyone on SAU sells their Evo eventually when they realise it isnt very exciting unless driven like a maniac (and then what car isnt exciting when driven to the limit?) I always justify how much I spend on the pulsar by thinking "at least its not a GTR" because seriously everything I do is like half the cost of GTR equivalent.
  18. 1 in 8 sounds false. But look at all the footy players. Same thing. A dealer can make a lot of money if he infiltrates a local footy team. "The boys" will all jump on board if everyone else is having fun and no ones girlfriends are around. Once i stopped to get fish and chips at some seedy street few blocks from Dandenong. Legit 2 people standing next to the milk bar with brown paper bags. One was african the other wasnt. Looked like a f**king scene from The Wire. Id never seen anything like it (outside of north richmond)
  19. That, plus a LOT of people smoke weed. I've noticed more folks taking pingers/speed too. I think it's due to massive popularity in festivals since 2008-2009, people naturally get exposed to that sort of stuff. Hamish probably saw similar trends in the 90's with 24 hour party people
  20. on a stock auto V8 with 88,000kms? this is aint no after-school special skyline we talkin bout. maybe Odie should by the 33R for $25k with that 88E potential money then sell it for over $30k in a few years. add a few km's here and there to justify rego... take it to the occasional meet for some e-fame and there you go. Not a bad car purchase really.
  21. This beast is still for sale. under $1500 now! Guy cant take a decent photo. probably hiding something http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Nissan-Infiniti-1993/SSE-AD-3801183/?Cr=0 Also: damn. Might have been cheaper and easier than doing a Barry-spec dirty 30 Birds. http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/463881-1995-racepace-gtr-hks-28/
  22. This guy has been trying to seel for ages. So cheap! http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Nissan-Infiniti-1993/SSE-AD-3801183/?Cr=0
