  1. On another topic, does anybody have an opinion on what diff ratio would be ideal for the RB30 due to the increased torque?
  2. Is there anything different with this box other than the short shifter (which I assume is throw length, not lever height)? Not wanting to cause any arguments by naming prices, but they are genally considerably cheaper then this from a wrecker in standard form and with standard shifter. If you have information to clarify this it would be great, Thanks.

  4. nice thanks, there are a couple of AP PFC's 2nd hand at the moment in the for sale forums, what are they worth new and second hand, regular PFC's are quite cheap these days.
  5. OK, so you are using the AP RB20DET PFC on your hybrid motor? I see what you are saying now, be easier to stick in the same generation of skyline, i.e. R32, but are those sensors all the same?
  6. Do all years of RB25DET have variable valve timing? The project car the motor is for is a 260Z, so that is neither here nor there but it does allow me to have free range of what skyline parts to use. Are all the sensors common between the RB25DE and the RB20DET i.e. will the loom plug into everything or will some chopping and changing need to be done. Will this affect injector style?
  7. If thats the case, could you use an RB25DET loom and use an RB25DET power fc? I assume there are pro's and cons to do with sensors etc?
  8. I have a RIPS intake, the whole motor is still wrapped up so I cant comment on performance yet. Those of you using an RB25DE head, do any of you plan to use a power fc? If so, what model because as far as i can tell, there are none for the RB25DE? I imagine there would be differences between the DE and DET making the RB25DET unit unsuitable but I am not sure and have no proof to support this. Thanks
  9. becuase i have a RB25DE head and loom on a 3.0 block which i plan to turbocharge, obvisouly needs new engine management and I also want a stock appearance that the power FC will give.

  11. I havent dont it on an RB, but I have done it on another Nissan motor to check and lubricate after it had been sitting for a year. It was just a matter on undoing the bolts and levering it off? Just be careful not to damage the gasket. Anything in the way obvisouly should be disconnected and reconnected afterward.

  14. Doing a little snooping around, i found on the APEXI site that they list the same part for R32-R33 89-99. This would lead me to think that the same unit is applicable for the RB25DE and RB25DET. 414-N026 89-99 BNR32/BCNR33 D-Jetro 414-N029 89-99 BNR32/BCNR33 I am a bit lost as to what D-Jetro is? Sounds similar to Bosch K-Jetronic.
  15. guys, Could anyone advise me if it is possible to use a Power FC on an RB25DE/RB30 hybrid turbocharged motor. The problem I see is that while it would make sense for an RB25DE ECU to work (i dont know if power fc are made to suit this??) but now being a turbo motor, it could complicate things? Thanks

  20. Ever sent anything like this interstate before? I after a 5 speed but I would think freight cost would be prohibitive.
  21. AFAIK it is an internally gated version of a GT35R and I have seen them go for around $2k used. I wanted one for my 3.0 but a couple turbo shops said it would be too big for my power/boost targets.
  22. Are there differences in the power FC's across the RB25 production years? I have a 3.0 running an RB25DE head, and have been reading these sort of topics with interest. I have been wanting to wire in an autronic or haltech as I think it would be enjoyable/a good experience especially with an engine conversion however I am a bit worried lately about getting an engineers certificate and a powerfc in a nissan box is looking more and more attractive.
