  1. don't forget to try the re-solder dry joints in the DIY section.
  2. where did you mount your external gate? off the turbine housing? which gate did you use?
  3. does anybody have pics of their installation that i could have a gawk at? also if there were any annoying installation issues? chur. G
  4. Yep what Ben and gtsboy say.... This is what I originally said a few pages back when I was looking through a log.
  5. here is a sample of what the power excel software looks like.
  6. you can't access the idle maps without the power excel software i believe.
  7. oh ok. ldle control is not from the main map from what i've seen. The main map engages when throttle opens.....half the reason why you disconnect tps to set your base timing. think you are right for d-jetro....wonder if you could use a GTR pfc on an ECR33.
  8. Map Sensor? it already does...you probably mean an IAT sensor for MAP based tunes....there are specific Powerfc's for this e.b Ljetro vs Djetro....more modern ECU platforms do both. Your last statement is horribly confusing. because ignition timing map with rpm on one axis and load (MAF or MAP loading calculation) on the y axis and the same for fuel map. Your hand controller will show you which cell you are in on the 20x20 map.
  9. I have to agree.... The ecu is old but reliable, fine and proven a zillion times over.
  10. I bought a greddy type rs bov and had troubles with it. i found that the diaphram assembly had creased in assembly and would open but no close properly...you need to tighten up the spring pressure quite a lot and check the bov to make sure the diaphram isn't getting trapped. i soaked mine for a while in olive oil to get the diaphram working again. the wooshing sound was the bov actually leaking in my case....do you get any boost pressure when you hear the wooshing ?
  11. ^^over engineered dinosaur tech wins out against cheaper newer production methods.
  12. I've owned my car since 2002. when i bought it it had 134,000kms on it. i've still never lifted the head off the motor and i've done all the maintainence myself....most of the problems are with the ancillary parts of the motor failing over time e.g turbo....
  13. My rb25det has tolerated over 300,000kms with plenty of my ignorance and learning applied. Still punching good numbers.
  14. I have the power excel software and ill see if i can find an idle map or system.. I know the datalogit can only change the settings that are in the hand controller plus a couple extras.....
  15. do you have a wideband? if you can get the afr's roughly right it should be driveable.... you'll need to get it to a tuner with a fcdatalogit.
  16. i'm still convinced the powerfc changes ign timing in idle control circuit.
  17. one thing you can do is grab a long screw driver stick it to your ear and put it on to each of the injector metal covers and listen for it ticking....if you don't hear one ticking it could be stuck... all 6 of my freshly flow tested 850's were stuck....
  18. the supplied ones were fine....just check them for splitting, perishing or stretching if they aren't new ones.
  19. drop your correction factor on your injector size then if its pig rich....this is the other calculation that is not an exact science.
  20. pulse timing is a whole map calculation however like GTSboy says it is more noticable at idle and light load due to the fact the injector is opening and closing at a slower rate therefore making the latency timing more important.....its often a struggle to get larger injectors to idle well anyway...however newer tech injectors don't seem to suffer the same issues.
  21. No it affects the whole map not just idle.
