  2. accord euro luxury. subaru liberty
  3. sorry to hijack the thread, i've got an r32 gts-t rear end in my s13, if i clutch in and coast/roll along- i have excessive road noise and i think the wheels bearings in the rear have given up. anyone know how much i should expect to pay for new bearings? and can i replace them myself? or is it a mechanics job?
  4. the difference between an integra type r and an integra vtir, it's probably similar to compare a standard kia sportage and i dunno..... a turbo charged xtrail? anyway, i think threads like this only get somewhere if you have accurate info to post, or if you have an honest opinion from experience with the car in question. I have in the family and frequently drive a stock standard dc2 integra type r, we have owned it since 15,000kms and it now has 104,000kms so far it has consumed one set of tyres, a bunch of oil filters, and some brake pads, along with fluids... not one thing has broken down on the car, the clutch is still original, the diff is as tight as it was when we got the car, the things that let the car down are the fact it's lacking a 6th gear for hwy driving and the road noise. in short they are a fantastic car, as far as performance goes- provided you are the only person in it, they are as much fun as a car with twice the hp, however to be honest they do suffer when you add the weight of extra bodies. the front lsd gives them superb traction, and you get a real sense of confidence when driving at the limit, the straight line performance isn't anything to brag about, but the fact they are one of the most rewarding fwd cars ever made says something. anyone doubting the ability or sheer fun factor of these cars is only doing themselves an injustice. read this short evo mag article: http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/cargroupte...da_integra.html this is an interesting fact from wiki: An interesting and little publicized fact about the 1996-2001 DC2 Type R is that Honda lost money on every single vehicle sold, even though extra dealer markups sometimes made for excessive dealer profit. Honda produced the DC2 Type R for homologation purposes to meet FIA certification of the motor and the chassis changes to make the car more competitive in N-series and World Cup racing. The details required, hand tooling in early versions and finishing the product through the use of various small fabrication shops in Japan made for increased costs in manufacture that could not be made up in the list price of the vehicles. Honda (and Acura in the US) deemed the car important for the marque's image and important for the racing programmes of the era, and the parent company therefore accepted a financial net loss on each vehicle sold. and lastly: an aussie review that states the integra as a better/more focussed car than the nissan s15 and the subaru wrx http://www.carsales.com.au/reviews/2001/sp...tref=ed-reviews i drive a modified s series nissan, and i'm not ashamed to say i have had as much fun punting the integra as i have the rwd nissan platform, go ahead and flame me, but anyone who has driven one on a true twisty road and not enjoyed themselves......is a liar.
  5. that E30 is astonishing... i have movement.
  6. price is negotiable, best to contact dean 0402 217 605
  7. I have 1 Medium Size Velo Racing seat. It was purchased from revolution race gear a few years ago, and has been stored for quite some time, as it was replaced with a Bride. The seat is FIA approved. It also comes with a Brown Davis custom rail, to suit S14 200SX. will also fit s13-s15, and could be modified to fit skyline without much effort, this rail is very sturdy and will last forever. as you can see from the picturs, the bolster is barely used, the seat has some dust on it from storage but will clean up to mint condition with a quick once over. i have the cushion for it also... Price: 800ono Location: Kew, Melbourne
  8. that's a super quick time! how much horse power does the GTR in question have? I remember seeing the car at sandown, it looked pretty serious! Jamie also has a fairly solid time (55.38) for a 270hp 911... see page results link, page two class M2: http://www.pcv.com.au/PorscheClubs/pc_vict...12574F90081B657
  9. I wouldn't normally post a nissan/datsun in this thread, this MINT z is an exception: spotted near the national gallery of victoria.
  10. this had so much road presence. such a pretty car in the flesh, and they sound fantastic! i like the stickers on the back....
  11. this would be fun http://www.my105.com.au/classified.asp?id=11035
  12. harness bar = smart arse!
  13. the sti must be fun dane, any details on your harness bar? who made it and rough cost? i'm still yet to organise one for my car...
  14. thanks for the extra details snowman That's fantastic value! I can imagine a rush on spots next time, and perhaps a price hike... just to be able to use the whole road is awesome.
  15. honda do get the chassis/handling very good out of the box. I've driven a modified dc2 type r, it had basic mods, exhaust, clutch, intake, and coilovers. the improved hp was fantastic, the clutch and coilovers were terrible, i'd consider them downgrades. I drive a bone standard dc2 type r frequently (one in the family) and as a standard car the handling is fantastic, they are VERY flat and neutral through corners, and throw all of the usual fwd characteristics out the window. I can't really comment on the dc5, the addition of good rubber and a few extra hp will benefit most cars.
  16. Can you confirm the entry cost's for the touring group? I read somewhere it was $350 per entrant? (but i coudl be wrong) if that's correct, the value for money is outstanding! were there only 30 spots? I can imagine it would be hard to get into that 30... how many "tours" did you get? I "heard" the event is secure for 2 more years, I want in on the tour next year!!! even if it's in a bunky s13 it's still got to be enormous fun to be able to use the whole road...
  17. I'd spend the $1000 on a fire extinguisher, helmet, upgrade rear sway bar, a set of kumho ku36 rubber and a good wheel alignment... you may need to kick in an extra couple of hundred but those mods will transform the car majorly!
  18. i've been using the kuhmo's as road tyres on my car, a little more nvh than a regular road tyre but good grip and seem to be wearing well, i did a deca day on them and the car wasn't as pointy at slow speeds as it has been on worn semi's, but for the price they are great.
  19. schwing schwing schwing http://my105.com.au/classified.asp?id=13868&latest=1
  20. I see the price tag on those cars and they seem like awesome value, but (as you know) purchase price is only the very surface of what it costs to run a porka... even in the lower pcv classes the competition is so intense it has people spendiing up (big) on new rubber/ new suspension/ new evrything just to try and pip the guy in front, that's without the routine maintenance... scary prospect. 993's are awesome by the way.
  21. dane: keep at it, it can only improve, I remember you telling me why you were having it all done in house, seems like that was a very good decision. if you do get tired of it, i think i found the perfect solution... perfection: http://www.my105.com.au/classified.asp?id=13865&latest=1
  22. it's one of those things with race or modified cars, you're in the hands of the people you trust, so hopefully those people do right.
  23. dane: you must be fuming! i hope for your sake this is the last time the motor comes out for a long time.
