  1. Hello Queenslanders, I've just bought a V-Spec veeery similar to this one, which is currently for sale in your fair state. It sounds like this guy has put a fair bit of effort into getting the car as original as possible and I am going to embark on the same exercise... so I'd like to track him down and ask some questions about where to source parts etc. http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/nissan-skyline-1993-10948557?base=1216&vertical=Car&cr=0&eapi=2&__N=1246%201247%201252%201282%201216%204294963846%204294963593%204294962590&find=v-spec|CarAll&silo=Stock&num=15&sort=default Does anyone know if he's on SAU?
  2. Hi everyone, The 'silver' plastic wheel centres in my V-Spec BBS 17" rims are starting to lose their silver coating. Does anyone know if they're the same as the ones in the standard 16" GT-R wheels, or are they unique to the V-Spec? If they're not the same and I can't find an easy replacement, does anyone know where a similar item can be found, or how to get the plastic silver coating restored? Cheers! Mike ps - here's a pic of mine
  3. Hello Aussie delivered GT-R owners I don't own an Aussie one but I'm one of the many that fell in love with them back then as a kid and now at age 37 I have bought a later Japanese import. I picked my completely stock 1993 V-Spec up on the weekend, so I'm in my fifth day of GT-R ownership. I was wondering if any of you could please let me have a little bit of advice? I want to get a copy of the service and owners manuals in English so that I can maintain and operate the car properly and with the respect that it deserves. Can you please let me know if this publication looks likely to be the same as the Aussie delivered owners manual? Has anyone bought this item and if so, would you recommend it? Are there any better alternatives? http://www.motortraders.net/store/item.asp?code=99902J7400 Any other advice regarding handy documentation to get would be great. Thankyou very much! Mike
  4. Hi everyone, I’ve just bought a stock standard unmodified 1993 R32 V-Spec and I want to track down service manuals for it. A couple of questions spring to mind and I am hoping that some of you more ‘GT-R experienced’ folk may have the answers: Does anyone know if there was a specific manual or appendix for the V-Spec that covered the differences between it and the standard GT-R? Will the standard Australian service manual be sufficient for the 1993 GT-R? Also, I’m thinking of buying the Australian user’s manual to put in the glovebox. Does anyone know if it will be exactly what I need for the ’93 model – i.e. are the climate control system, interior controls etc. the same between the Aussie delivered models and the later Japanese models? Any help would be great. I’m a GT-R noob but I want to drill into this detail and get all the info that I need so that I can maintain and operate the car properly and with the respect that it deserves. Cheers! Mike
  5. I popped into Gauge Works yesterday. They're pretty confident that they can sort it. I'll probably get them to fix it and I'll post the results in the forums to add to the knowledge base.
  6. It's the stock cluster and it's pretty steady actually. None of the symptoms associated with damaged cables that I can identify by searching these forums. I popped into Gauge Works in Adelaide yesterday. They're pretty confident that they can sort it. I'll probably get them to fix it and I'll post the results in the forums to add to the knowledge base.
  7. Well, after starting (or any reasonable time stationary) the speedo reads 1.5-2 times the speed that my GPS speed readout gives. Forexample, yesterday in 110km/h traffic the needle was past the 180km/hr limit of the gauge. After a time the difference diminishes, and in some instances it returns to the correct reading. Today for example, it was showing 60km/h when the GPS was showing 60km/h amongst urban traffic. The tacho and odometer are running correctly though.
  8. Hi all, I'm posting this here and in the 'SA' forum in case there are any non-SA people who may have had experianece with SA instrument specialists. I've just bought an R32 GT-R and there's a minor problem with the speedo. Has anyone had good work done on R32 gauges in Adelaide? If you have, can you please let me know who you would recommend? Cheers! Mike
