Having owned a Prince Skyline S54GTB,C110,C211,R30,31,32,33,34 and V35 I'm the only one qualified to vote
Order is V35 best by a long way followed by ,R32,R33,R34,R30,R31,C211,S54,C110(last because the rusted so quickly)
My opinion only of course
I don't know what the mechanic did.
I assume trying to gently force the car into gear and make the syncro work and maybe unglaze it if that is the problem.
Will let you know how it goes as I've only driven it a short distance so far.
Am considering changing the oil to redline or royal purple.
Thanks for the offer Mike
Just got some good news that the box doesn't need to be rebuilt at present.
Had a problem crunching into 4th gear at reasonable pace gearchange.
Thought baulk ring may be broken but may have just been glazed and mech was able to deglaze it by driving it.
Don't need a clutch just yet but at least I know what my options are...definitely want to keep the stock feel.
Cheers
Tried the search and it didn't help
I've got the Gearbox out of my GTR so is probably a good time to replace the clutch
I was wondering where is the best place to get a replacement clutch?
I DON'T want anything too heavy as an old motorbike injury smashed my left foot and anything too strong kills me in traffic.
The clutch must be driveable too so chances are I will just go std unless I get a recommendation
Cheers
I wouldn't own a black one if you paid me
Yes they look great when their someone elses but a pain to keep clean.
I had a black Skyline once...never again
We all like different things but I was just stating what when I was buying to get pearl white required a premium price compared to black and especially silver
That's funny as when I was looking I could have had so many black ones for around 300,000 yen less than white.
Must be the time of the year or something
Our rules state that if you have Xenons fitted there must be a headlight washing system too as I think they cause glare if dirty.
In 2 years of driving the V never had a complaint from oncoming cars.
The std Xenons are great
Stand under the Wellinton st Freeway overpass at 6am each morning and you'll hear a Fubitsuturbo exhaust.
Oh yeah I love it.
Nice and quiet during normal running but sounds great when accellerating
I've got two coupes (V35 and 32GTR) but one must go as I need 4 doors
That's why I'm ordering a GTi to get a 08 compliance.
Great car to drive and with the dsg it's awesome.
With a $2000 reflash power will go from 147kW to 187 similar to the MPS3
The MPS was a nice car but prefered the Golf
Took me 3 months to find my white manual in Japan
Every one I looked at seemed to be silver (and cheaper)
With white there seemed to be a premium to pay to get that colour
Yes they're Di#kheads.
Quite happy to sell kits to the US where they tell me mechanics are not as good as here but not prepared to sell kits here as they prefer to rip their own Aussies off
For Aussies they won't sell the kit but insist on fitting at their workshop meaning you have to ship your car to Melbourne and back.
Not worth the $17k all up cost IMHO
+400hp would be the limit as efficient NA engines have lightweight components that shouldn't be boosted too much
