  1. Probably been posted before but I hadn't seen it. Apparently the car has 1260 HP http://www.hipervids.com/videos/caprilaunch2.wmv
  2. Just out of interest, the people experiencing losses, do they have piggy-backs or stand alones? I find with my SAFC II that it goes out of tune after a while anyway due to the stock ecu constantly learning and altering it's settings. Before I go and get a retune for 98RON I'll be resetting the ecu, using 98RON for at least a few weeks, and then getting the tune redone. With a stand alone I gather you should be able to dial in some more timing straight off the bat as you are the one inputting the settings into the ecu as apposed to the ecu learning and altering for itself
  3. Awesome pics ! Is there a list of times somewhere?? Cheers
  4. So it's making full boost somewhere like 5250 rpm???
  5. yeah, I've lost like 6-8 grand on my series 1 in 2 years. I don't really care anymore. I did go through the phase of "I gotta get out before I lose to much" but now I just enjoy owning the car for what it is. It's fast, reliable, comfortable and still looks nice. I wont be selling this car for a while now. There is no point. I don't think i could find another car I'd like as much in a similar price bracket. Skyline's are great cars and if you treat them right will last a long time. You may be thinking now " but i'm gonna lose so much" but if you keep the car for 10 years you'll probably think back and say it was the best purchase you made.
  6. well seeings as they are in completely different price brackets you must have some cash saved too. Kepp the line and modify
  7. http://www.my105.com.au/classified.asp?id=5792 in ur budget but race only :S This looks pretty sweet. good power for the money: http://www.my105.com.au/classified.asp?id=6136 A bit over budget tho
  8. no need to shout I simply replied why he wouldn't go to 1 bar :sorcerer:
  9. u up north or down south frigjam? How much they charge you to get the SAFC II retuned?
  10. He's got an R33. The recommended daily max is 12psi and from what others have posted on this forum the stock turbo doesn't flow any more air above this anyway so you're not getting bugger all power increase. What you do get from running 1 bar on the stock turbo is a time bomb.
  11. well the curve looks okay to me. Maybe the settings of the dyno are wrong and its just reading low. Settings like inlet temp and BP can effect the actual numbers. If it feels fast thats all that really matters. How much did he charge you just out of interest? I'm looking to get a service and a re-tune for 98RON of my SAFC II and not sure where to take it since Dave has gone.
  12. The best you could get is 130?? that is shit house. I had my car tuned on 11psi by Dave Powell (before he left) on Pro Auto's dyno using 95RON and made 168rwkw. I only have boost controller, fmic, SAFC II and a 3in turbo back. More recently i made 152rwkw when Dr Drift came down and tuned my car but this was only because it was missing above that. More than likely my problem was my plugs being incorrectly gapped but due to time restraints I didn't have time to regap them so went for the safe 152rwkw tune. That was on 95RON too. On 98RON I'd expect at least 170-190rwkw on about 12psi. Something is up with that result.
  13. low to mid 12 going by benm and robo's sigs.
  14. haha! nice ride there mate, does it have any special engine mods or is it purely cosmetic changes? looks the goods

    Ultimate 98

Well I just got some at BP Glenorchy, I called in to Hobart (Brooker) but they hadn't set it up yet but told me it would be going in a few hours. I didn't expect any power increase but I must say it feels a hell or a lot smoother to redline. I paid 1.54.9 not bad I think. Cheers

better price than i expected. I noticed that the brooker BP had the signs up can't wait to see the difference
  17. Quote "for all interest my bretho reading was 0.09 thankyou very much" uhmmm does this not make sense? it's almost as though she is proud that she only blew 0.04 over the limit? ah well like someone else said, drink drive, bloody idiot.
  18. ahh thats no good. Keep it on the track people.
  19. sheesh how did that happen? Hope every1 is ok.
  20. I take it you already have a degree or tafe qualifications? If not the Education Department takes on new trainees at the start of each year. It shit money to start off with but you can work your way up. http://www.jobs.tas.gov.au/ Do a search under IT for details
  21. OMG did anyone see this at the bottom of the above link: http://videos.streetfire.net/video/5210ECD...F514B53254C.htm an 32 drift ute!?!?!
  22. hey, I wasn't meaning you were still running jap fuel, just that if it was a power run of a jap tune then that tune would have been done to higher octance fuel than we have here. Therefore when it ran on the dyno using 98RON it may have caused the knock. I'm no expert but make sure you're dealing with people who know how to tune a powerfc too!
  23. looks the goods mate. Did they just do a power run or a full tune? If it's just a power run then that could explain the knock as jap fuels are higher octane than ours so for a start you should be running the 100RON shell (?) fuel or 98RON fuels. If you're on 98RON already you should get it tuned to that.
  24. I think if you want mid 12s then without cams should do the job, low 12s you'll need more average power so cams would be better. I think to get to 260rwkw with a high flow you'll definately need the cams too.
