but that was not the question....

you are correct though...a street/drag/circuit GTR is great with 2x HKS 2530's

its the best all round turbo for the RB26...

this is only my opinion...

My opinion too.

Since he already has all the stuff for GTSS's, the 2530's was an easy answer.

:O cheers :)

the power the t04z is gonna make (potentially) is gonna go past the stock rods limits i would imagine (or didn you put betters ones in there Nick?)

Shouldnt be a problem if the rod bolts are replaced with something decent and your not revving the crap out of it. The achillies heel of the conrods isnt the rod itself but the bolts. Put a set of ARP bolts in, and you will be pretty hard pressed to bend them.

Nick what would you call your target rwhp or awkw etc ? as there might be other alternatives to your GT-SS HKS that will deliver better responce and drivable than something the size of a T04Z. I personally would only recommend a turbo that size if your chancing 440 to 450rwkw anything much under that i believe you can be better served with a different combo.

Nick...I'm with Tommy. I hav compared the response of my car to one with a T04z with a 0.81 housing, and the GTRS's spool up a little earlier and make similar power at the same boost level. I know they are different cars and there are a lot of variables, but the bottom line is whether or not it is worth the hassle and expense of going for a single and external gate.

The big Tomei lowmounted twins are another option that would be interesting, or even a pair of Apexi turbines.

Hope this doesn't offend any of the twin guys, seems to me that the single turbo cars have ran the times at the drags

Whats anyone on this forum done time wise with GT-RS?

hows 10.38 from a smaller set of 2530hks grab you, name me a t04z that got close to that and on GT-RS i only know of one guy run them hard on the strip i believe he ran a 10 with them (it's hard to judge a combo on 1/4 times when nones really push them hard down there but i believe in the near future there a gtr that could change all that in wa)

the other little fact i would like to bring to people attention is

2530 rated at 640hp

t04z rated at ?800hp

efficience and ease of install lives with the twins as a bolt on combo

What are the gtrs rated at?

And on the flip side name me a GT-RS GTR in Australia thats got close to that aswell?

Im 99% sure we will find the times ran from TO4Z and GT-RS are pretty much the same

That wasnt run on pump fuel was it? The cars been comprehensively stripped too hasnt it? So it doesnt really have anything to do with what Blitz is after...

I currently have HKS 2530's on mine and they have been awesome turbos, but to make those numbers you really do have to flog the shit out of them. The T04Z will make the alot easier at the end of the day (albeit though, probably a bit laggier).

Pretty much spot on there ;)

doesnt have track suspension, tis a car build with drag in mind

1475kg...is not what i would call comprehensively stripped...its only marginally lighter than a stocker....and I weigh 105kg.

with Nick in his car the weights would almost match.

we ran 28psi to do 10.38 and 10.36....redline was 8250rpm...changing at 8000. I dont think i have even come close to "flogging the shit" out of them yet.

35psi and 9250 is flogging the shit out of them.

what makes the car so quick is the almost instant torque the car generates off the line due to the 2530's midrange. The 1.4-1.5 60' are testament to this, to half track we are around 0.2-0.3 slower than Mark's 9.5 sec beast. The second half of the track is where the t04z would be superior, as the 2530 lack the airflow to have the topend for 9sec passes without the use of NOS.

contrary to popular belief, this car was never built with drag racing in mind. Our set-up is typical of a Japanese weekend circuit car. We run all the ultra hard suspension, off the shelf HKS Hyperdamper, Tein caster rods, JIC top arms, Hicas lock etc.

Stace took it drag racing to have some fun....it just got a little out of hand when the car began to produce some incredible times and numbers....the bug bit.

But then there is the no air cond, no power steeting, no clutch fan...

we run power steering...A/C is only activated when switched (so pulley free spins on cars with a/c installed)...but yes we run thermo's

and what about all the added weight from the cage etc ffs every one thing I've removed I know I've near added 2 for andra or the new set up

Unlike the Japs...we have rules to follow here with our drag cars which means added kg's...:)

anyhow...back on topic...

so Nick.....decided what TO4Z housing you will get?? .81 seems like the go.

Edited by DiRTgarage

im sorry, do disrespect for twins, :) but single is the shit. so long as the manifold is corect. none of this 40mm odd massive thick runners. sorry hks, trust im not reving it to 12grand!!

in terms of exaust housings. .84 splitpulse is the most versitile.(garrett)

for a comparison my old motor (26 with stuff) made 326rwkw on 16 psi.

and it was a. tw41.

or t04e with o trim turbine 60trim 14blade compwheel

.84 split rear .7 front cover.

1.25"id runners about 18inces long give or take.

full boost at 3600 in second.

lowmounts would struggle get that without the bottle.

besides they are laggy but not. (builds boost from low rpm but not full boost till quite late)

anyway nick my advice would be to go for a drive in one equiped with what u are thinking of doing.

just so you can see. and perhaps come to a compromise. cheeres.

umm. no ofence. 35psi boost and race fuel + a really good box. and somone who knows how to drive.

how longs a piece of string

    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
