Ok i got my front mount installed plus a high flowed my cat. The car is runing stock boost and everything. but now when the car gets to 7 to 10psi (sometimes it even boosts to 14psi or higher) it jerks and mis fires and carries on. One question i have is do i need to re gap my spark plugs, or there was a nipple with a pipe plugged in to ther top bipe of the stock cooler now my new cooler didnt have this so i just blocked off this with a screw and made sure its tight

Any ideas anyone

the pressure line from the cooler piping to turbo actuator has been disconnected or is damaged/blocked/loose. basically the turbo actuator isn't opening and you are running unlimited boost. this results its massive pressure and stock ecu protection gets activated.

connect up the pressure line from the cooler piping to the actuator

DO NOT keep driving it, it will go bang and cause damage as you are running unlimited boost

So how do i fix this problem. Would a boost controller fix it, its finer till its gets over 10psi then it just doesnt like it. That pressue hose is blocked as i have put a bolt as there is no where to put it in the new piping.

Any ideas

no a controller will not fix it, the problem is the factory controller is not working as the actuator line has been disconnected. there must be a pressure line run crom the cooler piping to the turbo actuator (as it was before with stock intercooler)

thats pointless and the hard way of getting it fixed, a good performance work shop should be able to sort it out in a matter of minutes. ok so you have the nipple, so where did you connect the line to ?

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
