Went and saw Laurie down at Bridgestone in the city.

First time in, got the car put up and was told it didnt need a wheel alignment, but they didnt have time to check the rest of the suspension - NO CHARGE

In for the rest of the suspension checked (ride hight, fine tune camber, etc), well at first things were a bit slow, Laurie was busy on the phone. Then, when the car goes on the hoist, out comes the pizza 'here you go mate, fill your boots or it just goes in the bin', then comes out the coke, same thing.

Fine adjustment of alignment, check ride height, reset rear sway bar, and we went for a drive - I though the problem was in the rear - Laurie disagreed, 'you need to tighten up the front sway bar'. Back on the hoist, adjust front sway bar (involved a bit of work). Off hoist then I took the car for a drive - and now she handles 100 times better - its bloody awesome!

I whip out the wallet - Laurie charges me just $35 for a wheel alignment - THE MAN IS AWESOME

Just had to put in a good word, this is the best bloody service I have ever had of anybody - and I'm not young!

MUST also say a big thanks to Clint32 for hooking me up with some really cheap whiteline gear, what a top aussie bloke

Sorry if you guys think I have been wasting your time by posting this, but I just had to let as many people know, whoever is after suspension tuning - speak to Laurie!

PS Friday arvo is the time to go if you want the pizza:D

Yeah, he is usually pretty busy, but I dont think he will mind if you ask for him. The more people tell him that they are from the same place, the more likely he is to treat us kind as a whole. Though from what I could tell, they were pretty customer oriented all round, not just Laurie.

    • I like they don't raise their hands into the air when they shift their sequential boxes, seems to be a thing here in Australia lol...
    • I'm not normally one for posting random videos, but I thought we'd all appreciate the honesty about how broken our cars tend to be lol. Genuine skyline life here.
    • New CAS just turned up from NZ Wiring. Looks like a nice bit of gear.  So, yeah. Triggered, bro. Realised I may as well do the cam belt while mucking about with it so will order one of them.
    • Even more fun, leave all the ADAS stuff plugged in, but in different locations, hopefully avoid any codes!   And honestly, all these new cars with their weird electronics. Pull all the electronics out Duncan, and just shove an aftermarket ECU and if needed a trans controller in, along with a PDM. Make it run basic but race car styled!
    • To follow up a question from earlier too since I had the front bar off again (fking!) This is what is between the bumper and the drivers side wheel And this is the navigator side, only one thing but its a biggy! So basically....no putting coolers in the wheel arches without a lot of moving other stuff. Assuming I move to properly race prepping this car I'll take that job on and see how the computers respond to removing a whole bunch of ADAS modules
