Howdy guys,

Well as the topic states i need your advise on upgrading my R33.

Details atm:

R33 GTS-T

Auto

3 inch Cat back

High Flow Cat (Yet to install)

What i want to do:

Install -FMIC 600x300 approx

Install -Boost Controller & Boost to approx 12psi

Now i've spoken to a few ppl regarding installation and Computer. From what i've gathered i would need to use E-Manage as the other popular ones wont agree with the auto. Although Electronic Automotive(Melb) rekon that i could get away without using it simply by putting it on the dyno, see where it runs lean and set the MAX boost there....He rekons he's done it heaps of times with the most recent a R34 with just FMIC and controller, NO COMPUTER.....

He rekons the E-Manage is shyte as its just a piggy bak with very little options and simply not worth it...

From what i've gathered on the forums its obviously of benifit to have the computer done but can i get away without it? Im not after massive gains; just something modest on the standard turbo...say 160/170 rwkw???

If you plan to stick with the stock turbo you won't open up the world of hurt involved with Auto Skylines and ECUs.

Basically yes you can turn up the boost and not have any kind of fuel management system. However you will run very rich at the high end (I had down to 7 AFR) and you will experience a fuel cut, thus preventing you from running as high a boost as possible.

If you get a fuel management system like the SAFC2 or E-Manage you should be able to run maximum boost on a stock turbo.

If you want to upgrade the turbo, prepare to pay big bucks ($2000+) for a ECU replacement that can work well with the Nissan auto shift logic.

I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
