Where Do I Find The Engine Number?

Hey guys

I need to find out where my engine number is?

I was told its not actually on the plate along the firewall. But somewhere on the engine or on another part near the engine.

My car is a R32 GTS-t 1990.

Need to know the location and how many digits it is, so I know its the engine number and not just a part no. for something else.
